  1. Nothing wrong with pink! Anyone that knows me knows I write in pink - I survived 9 years of the LPU without it being a problem...even had an argument with Mike and he knew me at a M&G as the girl who yelled at him in pink.
  2. It's really nothing personal to Adam - I've met him and think he's lovely. My issue is with Machine Shop - they don't listen to the paying public and are very difficult to work with. They don't work with Warner, despite being a part of WB and due to this they control everything instead of letting, for example, Warner UK handle the promotion and communicate to non US fans. Adam is simply the voice of the company and should understand it's nothing personal - we have concerns and it's his job to ease them. As a US resident you wouldn't understand the issues I've raised - they are more from an international point of view. The new LPU is great for US residents (well excluding the price which is just dumb), it's not for the rest of the world. I'll now address your points to me: Bandmerch - agree, utter shite. But they're owned by Brad Delson so again it's just a money maker for Linkin Park and they have repeatedly screwed us all over. We UK fans can actually buy the same merch from www.grindstore.com without the inconvienence and shipping/customs charges. "A Decade Underground" - I have every track from 9 years of LPU and 'Songs from the Underground' Pretend To Be - aside from it being available to download from bazinga! and various torrent sites (I didn't get it there), I actually heard it through a friend. Chats at 5:45 - yes! I've stayed up till that time, so why can't Mike? Joke I was simply pointing out that it's not a benefit for anyone outside of the US. Seats - not all of us are as young and durable as we once were. I broke my wrist in a LP moshpit and sometimes it's nice to sit for a show and leave the crazy moshing to the bouncy...especially if you're doing a few shows in a row and are suffering from LPflu (common illness resulting from waiting outside for hours in the north of england!) LP dropped all convenience charges on their last USA tour - good for you! Didn't happen anywhere else! Ticket prices - this upcoming UK tour is double the price of the 2007 tour and other bands also performing at the same venue are considerably cheaper. It's a UK issue! Early access like Spiral - would be great and would save on the LPflu! M&G - again if it were like the spiral it would occur earlier in the day and then thanks to the 'spiral members only queue' you get in first, see the support act and aren't stood at the back.
  3. wow! that is such an utter fail at answering a question many many people are concerned about! Yes you're listening but are you actually taking notice and reading the genuine and practicle concerns many long term LPUers have? Clearly you didn't as the reply talks about NYC show and an LA event to an international member! Yes, I'm sure that will be a really cool event but seriously do you actually think anyone out of the US really cares about that benefit? Like Simon, I've been in the LPU since year 1 - I've met many lovely friends there (including Simon) and have many lovely memories and a box full of LPU package goodies, that yes may not always be adult/girl appropriate but at least I felt I was getting something for my money. I find it utterly disgusting that the LPU price has doubled and for basically an online package (don't argue, it is!) Saying people want presales and M&Gs doesn't even begin to justify this, and further arguing that they want to bring the number of LPUers down by increasing the price to provide more places at these events is unfair. Aside for the fact that hardcore fans who might be students, simply have families to support or just broke can't afford this, it does absolutly nothing to repair the already damaged reputation of the band criticised for being a business more interested in money than music! But lets talk a little about the 'benefits' of LPUX M&Gs My last was Milton Keynes and like Simon I was stuck organising the event as AEG didn't turn up. Essentially you wait around for ages, then are hurded through like cattle whilst the band pay little to no attention to the fans (or in one case *cough Mike Shinoda cough* look longingly in the direction of the main stage and sulk because he's missing Jay-Z). It's impersonal and typically full of kids as the older/long term LPUers are excluded from the lists! Presales As Jeanne said the LPU presale doesn't get the best seats in the house - the only acess you'll have to these is viewing them from a far! You are better using a presale from the actual organiser of the event and unlike the Spiral (NIN fanclub) there is no LPU early admission if you are standing. Additionally, why are LP tickets double the price of any other band performing at the same venue? Online chats with the band Aside from Mike doing 1 a week recently anyway anyone outside of the US usually misses this. LPU Giveaways Only US residents can apply Free download of A Decade Underground Having been a member from LPU1 I already have these tracks Access to exclusive LPU merchandise and bundle offers So I pay $60 so I can spend more money with bandmerch? Please explain why any of this is good for me? And if anyone replys with 'supporting the band you love' then I'll lose even more respect for them.
