Zero sign of Brad in this one, huh. I do get the feeling that he came in *really* late and there’s a bit of a PR job being done to make it sound like he contributed more than he actually did.
i mean they did state he joined before they started working on Casualty iirc. i don't doubt he went on and added guitar overdubs to songs that were already recorded beforehand

the bridge on this one is so sick wtf

Extremely mediocre song, I don’t like the 2000s pop punky vibe at all, hope the other 2 don’t sound like this. The bridge is kinda cool, BMTH/Blackbear vibes. Overall it’s a pass for me but glad you enjoy the song.
exactly what is pop punk about this song except maybe the drumming. im genuinely curious becausse you are not the first person to say this and i dont get it tbh

i knew he scratched on the bridge, but the subtle scratching on the breakdown is sick as hell and i wish it was louder on the mix
it sounds like theres weird synth scratching on Overflow, alongside with the vocal scratches in the acapella
so, final list:
Cut The Bridge
Casualty
Overflow
Two Faced
IGYEIH
songs im not too sure on:
Heavy Is The Crown (even on instrumental i have no idea if its actual scratching or just synth glitches) [edit: talking about the high synth on 1:50]- Up From The Bottom

its kinda hard to not be bummed here- they cut off Rio and Porto Alegre, while that is not a problem for me (since im in são paulo) you do feel bad for fans in those states that were expecting a show there. LPLive said it was "probably a response to demand" and i can tell you right now its not that. LP is massive on brazil and my bet is that those tickets would be sold out within minutes like last year.
the stage for São Paulo (MorumBIS) is... perhaps also not the best choice? last year they went on Allianz and the show was perfect! it dosent make sense for them to move stages now. only thing that makes Morumbi "better" than Allianz is the fact that it supports more people (and LP played there in 2004) but Allianz is overall a better choice.

New Divide was part of a movie soundtrack.
i mean yeah but its not on any album by the band. the band did other songs for movies (such as Joe Hahn's mall) but that is the only song they still perfom live, going as far as being included on Paper cuts.

I guess that this is the beggining of the non album singles for this band.
i mean, technically New Divide is also a non album single

welcome back Forgotten 🙏

taking a shot here but my guess is that they would release the bonus songs alongside the "live in brazil/são paulo" movies this year. i could totally see it being an live album pulling songs from both shows + bonus tracks lol

Not scratches per se. It's most likely running through his tables, but this is the same thing he does on "And One," cutting the crossfader without any sample manipulation, using the exact same Afrika Bambaataa sample he did on "And One." He has the loop on Tasty Gas Station Breaks from the Orient. Joe's just cutting the crossfader in rhythm; no actual scratching speed manipulation. Also does a similar thing with his sample on the bridge of "Runaway."
im talking about the part on 1:43. its definely scratching as it has pitch manipulation (its low on the mix but you should be able to hear it on headphones)

really cool Mr Hahn went all out on using scratches on this album (even if its subtle) after two whole albums of not using them at all lol -

Now, since the album's release, we haven't had any new music videos. Are we not getting any more?
have they ever made music videos for any non-single? id guess on the ATS but i cant remember tbh
i feel like the two songs that could have MVs would either be Good Things Go (a fan favorite) or maybe Casualty (first non single to be played live) -
"i wouldnt doubt they would end up releasing a "From Zero - Instrumentals & Acapellas" album like they did with LT and THP" god i love being right lol

Curious to see how the performance will be since only Mike, Emily, and Colin will participate.
my bet is that it will probably be something acoustic
or a stripped down pérfomance with less instruments. maybe Emily on guitar, Mike on Bass and Colin on drums lol -

have i missed any? someone pointed out on reddit there were subtle scratches on Over Each Other and Heavy Is The Crown but i couldnt hear anything tbhthe acapellas got released, and Hahn does some subtle scratching on the vocals of Overflow, most obvious being around 3:06
Hahn did a lot of vocals scratching on ATS, so its likely a call back to that -

I hate the inconsistency of the instrumental and acapella versions of the albums.
Some albums have none other have instrumentals, some both and then this only has acappella.
They should fix everything, atleast for the main albums.
Hybrid Theory to ATS all had instrumental albums. but nothing official afaik
and i think FZ will get its instrumental album released too, its not a far fetch since The Emptiness Machine had its instrumental on the CD single lol -
people yearn for Forgotten
with HT turning 25 this year i would love for them to perfom more Underrated songs. the original Pushing Me Away, By Myself and of course Forgotten
other underrated songs they could bring back:
Easier To Run (only played live in 2003)Don't Stay
Nobody's listening could be a part of Mike's solo too
just give War its live debut already god damnit -

In São Paulo, the quantities were huge, and they lasted until the end of the shows.
tbf in São Paulo people were after the Full Album on CD, I arrived 1 hour after the doors opened and they were sold out already lol (the keychain was also sold out :c )

Awesome vocals someone should use them in a remix or an acoustic version.
i wouldnt doubt they would end up releasing a "From Zero - Instrumentals & Acapellas" album like they did with LT and THP. i know that on the single CD for TEM it had the instrumental.
that being said, i would love an acoustic version, not only that but i think its been time for them to do an MTV unplugged show. -
how you have Metallica and Linkin Park - the two biggest metal bands ever and still have bad organization? $500 ticket for a day only festival isnt worth it even if you could watch all the bands live lol

I'm not sure I would call the sound in cut the bridge a scratch, it's more like a reverse sound effect than him actually performing on the table (I'd guess)
to me, it sounds like a backspin. Hahn did something similar in Nobody's Listening:
Inside the Studio for "Over Each Other" [LPTV FROM ZERO: Episode 20]

man after hearing Mike's demo vocals i now wish OEO was a back and forth between both of them. Emily solo version is good but that would have been so much better imo lol
