I wrote the song with UPSAHL and Samantha Ronson and Pete Nappi, and Sam and Pete are on Disney"

I dislike the new Shinoda, he's like the total opposite of what he was all about.

maybe he was playing a façade all along, or maybe he started recently, i mean, pretty much every musician will do that eventually unfortunately.

Again we get the story of Mark's stage fright and since we still don't have the q&a with Jeff Blue online, there is a contradiction which I'm curious about. It might be possible that Mark suffered from stage fright which then impeded his performance which led to him getting kicked out of the band. But still I find it really interesting that Mike never mentioned anything close to what Jeff has written about in his book. Or put differently: Jeff never mentions stage fright.

Thanks yor the write up and the cool infos!

I've literally been saying the same thing, I think that there is a contradiction in the story.

  3. I just want to say, thank you LPLive, i created my LPLive account way back in 2019, and I've never really used it until the announcement of Hybrid Theory 20th Anniversary some months ago, and in that time, you've guys have kept me updated, I've learned a lot about the Linkin Park community in my time here, and other things that i would have never figured out on my own. It sucks that since Hybrid Theory 20th anniversary has finally been released, that this website is going to probably fall back into obscurity. Anyway, thanks for everything guys. I will still be periodically checking this forum from time to time.

I've heard both. I absolutely love "Dialate". I'm kind of suprised it wasn't included in the Xero tape, this track would fit right in there. "Could have been" is amazing as well. Mike's rapping was awesome on both tracks. And I'm always pleased to hear some new vocals by Mark Wakefield.

I personally think Mark's voice actually sounded a little bit higher in Dialate than in most of his songs.

Did you also record Esaul (Xero Demo)?

I'm not sure if Esaul even got played on the radio.

On Genius, lawrenceskm said he heard the Xero Demo Tape version, not the Zomba Music Sampler version.

He said and I quote "I’ve listened to the Sirius XM radio premiere of the song and the one that played was the Tape version, not the studio 1998 version. Both Reading My Eyes and Rhinestone are from the tape."

Could it have been a mistake? Because i heard the Zomba version play on the radio last night, i even recorded it when it played last night. I can send the recording to you that i recorded last night if you want

I heard that Rhinestone is the Xero Demo Tape version, not the Zomba! New Music Sampler 1999 version.

Then why did the Zomba! New Music Sampler version with Mark Wakefield on vocals get played on the Linkin Park radio last night?

It's probably the Zomba version (or similar). I doubt they put anything actually from the Xero tape on there.

I literally just now realized that you are that guy that made that one Scars On Broadway/Serj Tankian mashup, I saw in my YouTube recommended about 4 years ago. Wow.

I saw on Linkinpedia that the LPU12 version dates from January 7, 2000. It would be weird, in my opinion, if there wasn´t a version of "Rhinestone" with Chester, prior to January 7, 2000. I think there´s quite the possibility that the version we will get has Chester on vocals. We will also getting "Stick N Move" and Mike didn´t referenced that it has Mark´s vocals

If the version that we are getting has Chester on vocals, why is it called a "Xero Demo"? Wasn't Linkin Park called Hybrid Theory by the time they recorded Rhinestone with Chester?
