Chester and Mike could sing very similarly when singing the less heavy stuff. I think that’s probably why. Massive doesn’t have any heavy, aggressive or high vocals, which is where Chester really stood out the greatest from everyone on planet earth.

I think this is the biggest surprise from the Lost Demo CD imo, at least for me. If the chorus is solely Mike, it blows my mind lol. I'm usually pretty good at picking out voices, Mike has a specific tone to his delivery, that's how at the end of the second chorus it's like "oh that's Mike", but him hitting Chester's tone and word cadence is something I didn't know he could do.

It immediately made me think of the Zane Lowe interview from the other day though and how they said Chester would mimic other artists sometimes when doing a vocal. It'd make sense Mike could do that with Chester, but it's damn impressive imo.

It’s hard to tell. I think it’s all Mike, but the higher harmonizing vocals in the chorus might be Chester.

That's sort of what I'm wondering, it just sounds like an entirely different vocal that I haven't heard come from Mike before. I'd like to think they're doing it together, because like you pointed out there's definitely a higher harmony, and a lower harmony. My only other "evidence" that Chester is on the chorus is the placing in the track list, could be nothing, but all the Chester tracks are grouped together and then the Mike tracks are grouped.

If it is all Mike, then damn, he can sound like Chester in a way I've never knew. I figured Mike could carry the band alone, but this song shows he could do some of the old Chester stuff as well.

One other thing, the way the word "controlling" sounds, that may not even be the word, sounds like how Chester says it in another song but I can't think of it off the top of my head.

If this was a close up of the wall, I’d 100% be on this

I love it, but not enough to spend half the price of the album on it

I've always wanted a LP deck since I saw the one on Frat Party back in the day lol. The one for HT20 is calling me though so im.noy sure if I'll get this, but I'd like too. End of March is my bday, so let it flow haha

    100% it will.

The band sent Leave Out All The Rest and I think No Roads Left (I’m sure someone will correct me on that if I’m wrong) to a bunch of mixers and everyone said the same mixes were exceptional - both were by Neal Avron. The mixing on The Hunting Party isn’t great and the guitars on BURN IT DOWN are almost bland compared to what’s being played

I try to be a completionist so I'll probably double dip. Between the super deluxe, the cd deluxe and maybe the skate deck my wife probably won't be too happy 😄

Lost (2002 Mix) is confirmed to be on the Deluxe CD set, with Live Rarities and LPU Rarities 2.0

Seems it’s just mixed by Andy Wallace, not a different lyrical take

This is my biggest question. Is it possible it'll sound different? None of the others list the "2002 Mix" in the track list. I'd double dip if it's different enough.

  6. All aboard the hype train. I'm ready, but my body may not be. Question, do we have to reload the web page at 10 am and go through the steps again or can we just leave the page up and click the meeting at 10 est

I know this has been covered in this thread already, but it makes me wonder how much they'd be willing to open the doors on Mark's stuff, what the determining factor would be. Would it be weird for them, given Chester's situation? Do they think, even with the upgraded quality, it would all just sound too amateur given that Mark is...not a professional singer? All of it would be of great interest to the kind of person who's going to buy the big boy special edition (whatever form that takes), so I don't think it'd really be about what the fans are interested in.

I'm personally most interested in re-recorded Xero songs with Chester, but if there's Mark content on there - ESPECIALLY stuff we've never heard before, notwithstanding recent discoveries - I'd still be mega hype. And I'm going to buy the big boy special edition no matter what.

I agree with you, I would take anything they're willing to give us. I'd prefer Chester, but I love this specific era and find it really interesting hearing the demos & progressions. If anything I hope for is the Hybrid Theory EP again. I have my case and artwork, but I've managed to lose the cd somehow. I've got the MP3s but it'd be nice to get that back again.

    Announcement is tomorrow 7am pst

Haha, I will try to buy box set and the PS5 😅😅😅

Lol. While it would certainly be ideal to get both my wife may not be too happy with me. I'm ready to drop $300 to $400 for a crazy set if there is one. She may prefer the PS5, but ay its Hybrid Theory lol

  9. Back at the meet & greet in Charlotte I got to talk to Mike for a second and asked him about the the Take Away My Pride demo. He literally said "I have no idea what you're talking about" but he had a grin and I mentioned it being on the DVD. He also said "we're not really sitting on as many demos as people seem to think". I figure he means vocal or completed tracks.

Just some things to think about I guess. Any new music is good music imo and it's interesting to see how far BTH has come

  10. Not sure if the link will post because I'm on my phone, but anyway I was just looking under "Linkin Park promo" on eBay and this internal Meteora cd showed up. I don't recall ever seeing this before, he's got a copy of the CD with She Couldn't as well. The price for everything he is selling is pretty steep at close to $200 on everything. Just thought I'd give a heads up didn't know if this was a different mix or anything. If the link doesn't show up the eBay user is "guyintheeye9"

  11. It's not a bad CD, but I think from releasing Primo and just looking at the tracklist everyone's mind went crazy with the possibilities. Not to mention half of us probably thought they were demos with vocals at least for Somewhere I Belong or something.

  12. I've been watching all the Linkin Park DVDs back to back lately and trying to do some guess work I was wondering if anyone thought Robs drum song from the making of Meteora became "Wake" off MtM? Taking into account how they've mentioned before they may play something on piano and change it to a different instrument to see if it works better, I think the guitars in "Wake" are reminiscent of the piano part in Robs drum song.

Also while its been mentioned in other parts of the site "Program" from LPU11 was on the Frat Party DVD

  13. I usually enjoy all of Linkin Park's songs to some degree, that being said if I had to pick songs that I could definitely go without I'd have to go with

Across the line: song does nothing for me, its a little boring though it is growing on me more

Nobody's Listening: while unique I really have never been able to get into it

    X-Ecutioner Style: sucks

Hands Held High: I don't dislike it, but it's one of my least listened to tracks

my favorites would have to be My December, Crawling, P5hng Me A*wy (the fact that I love Taproot combined with LP equals epic), Part of Me, and With You
