  1. As with any release, we know you guys and gals get really excited and want to be the first to post every piece of news related to a new single, a new album, new tour, etc. However, PLEASE READ the forum prior to posting this news. Chances are, it might already have a thread dedicated to that very thing, just has a new spin or an update. Post those in that thread please. It really is confusing when we have 20 different threads dedicated to just The Catalyst. We have merged some threads and will probably continue to do so. If you search and find nothing, then by all means post new news, but please search first.

    As we have already told you, download links will also not be allowed at all, you've already had that warning. We also ask that you be respectful of other people's opinions in the coming months with new music. Whether you like the song, hate the song, want to spin it into something else, do not flame others who might differ with your opinion.

    Flaming will have zero tolerance as well. As with anything, if you have a question or are not sure about either of these things, then ask a staffer. With that said, enjoy and keep it clean guys and gals!

  2. Some of the new post/old post icons are hard to read.

    Meteora -> The gold tint is barely noticeable.

    Out Of Ashes -> That little red dot can be easily passed.

    LP 2.0 -> This one isn't that big of a problem. Maybe make the grey one a lighter grey. Would be easier on the eyes to figure out a new and old post.

    Will work on...

  3. Hey all! There are two 4.0 related polls in the 4.0 Support Forum. Please take a moment to go vote in those polls when you get a chance. Thanks!

  4. Yeah, and that back end isn't coming just yet, so that's a fail on my part. As for the last visit thing, Astat is right. If you don't log out there is no scripting we can do to fix that. If you want it to be up to date, log out every once and a while and it takes cares it.

  5. A couple things I can add (mainly to address some stuff I'm contributing to the site):

    -I have to laugh that Mark is crediting the "Did You Know?" section to me "with a little help from him." Truth be told, it was mostly him. :lol: I'll definitely have more input on that section in the future though.

    -This page: http://lplive.net/setlistssongs/linkinparkallsongslive.php still isn't completely up to date, but will be VERY soon.

    -I also haven't gotten around to writing my analysis for this page yet: http://lplive.net/setlistssongs/2003lputournotes.php but it'll be the next thing I tackle.

    Thank you...I'm gonna move this to the Submit Site Corrections tomorrow once you see this...as well as the other one with corrections.

  6. dope. purely awesome

    i know you probably have a lot more important things to work on, but what should I do if I've got some pictures for you? namely ticket stubs and m&g passes?

    I know i've sent em to you before, mark, but that was years ago. so yeah, lemme know!

    again. awesome work. thanks so much to everyone who has contributed since the beginning.

    Send those via the upload form on the contact and submit page here :)

  7. I don't think this video is legit either...who knows...

    I think its just a regular, 13-layer gif. I think if there's anything hidden, its in the gif itself. I have some theories, but perhaps more news will come in a day or so.

  8. The LPL staff is very pleased to announce the launch of Linkin Park Live: 4.0! After a great deal of work and time, we are now live with the latest chapter of LPL. There are a lot of changes that come with 4.0 including the following:

    * Sleek New Design

    - And changeable themes so each user can now customize the LPL site to your own preference. Set your site design as one theme and your forum as a different one, or pick your top favorite for both. Each month and around special events, a new theme will roll out to go along with whatever is going on at the moment.

    - New drop down menu and integration of the site and forum.

    * Site Admin Control Panel

    - Brand new interface allows the staff to edit the site much easier and more efficiently. This will help with site errors, consistency and more.

    * New Right Hand Sidebar with some new additions:

    - Log-In form so users can now log in from the homepage of the site.

    - Did You Know - a new database of random Linkin Park facts that rotate with each refresh of the page. Learn more Linkin Park than ever before on the site with this new feature.

    * Other Changes

    - New contact and submission page for setlist submissions, show photos, feedback and more.

    - New Download page.

    - Site Map - we now have an all new site map that shows all pages currently on LPL. This will help with navigating the site, etc.

    * Layout Changes

    - Revised year page layouts

    - Revised show page layouts

    In addition to all these changes, over the first month of 4.0's launch, we will be adding a lot more in the way of content and features, so keep and eye out for those. To further assist you, below you can find a directory of where to go for suggestions, issues, feedback and more.

    * If you'd like to learn more about the themes or have ideas or feedback on future themes, click here.

    * And finally, if you find a mistake or a correction we need to make, click here.

  9. One of the greatest things about 4.0 is the ability to change themes. You can select your own site theme as well as your own forum theme. Make them different or make them match...it's all about you, the users', choice! To give everyone a bit about the themes and their inspiration:

    The themes actually come out of a casual conversation I had with nkramar months ago when we were first beginning the design. He suggested changing the look of the site and we decided it was a genius suggestion. What better way to let the users impact the look of the site than letting them decide what they want to see on LPL based on what they like. The current themes are based on LP's career to date and their side projects:

    * Default theme - The theme we will set based on LP happenings at the time for default users to see when they first visit the site. The current default theme is set to 2.0.

    * Hybrid Theory - For all those hardcore Hybrid Theory loves. Theme features the exact colors from the album, including the soldier, as well as a live picture from that time period. Rounding out the theme are the symbols found on the back of the CD cover itself.

    * Reanimation - I know we have some Reanimation lovers out there and this is for you. Featuring a live picture of Rob from that time period as well as the transformer from the album art. The colors come from various spots in the album cover with other artwork serving as its inspiration.

    * Meteora - This theme is sure to please those who are big fans of the Meteora artwork. Features two live pictures from the Meteora tours blended into the main art piece from the album cover. Also features other images such as the background or the appearance of the painter in the forums. Rounding out the design are shades of blue, green, brown and black just like seen in the album art.

    * Minutes To Midnight - Features a shadow image of the front cover artwork as well as live pictures from the 2007 tours. Using the traditional black and white, this theme is simple yet a match to the album. Bringing a touch of color to the themes are some shades of blue that can be found in many of the photos and posters that were used during the promoting of the album.

    * Dead By Sunrise - In this theme, we pay tribute to the most recent side project by Chester Bennington. Theme features artwork from the album and a live picture from the recent DBS tours. The colors are red, black and white and are the exact colors you see within the album art.

    * Music For Relief - In salute to the charity work LP has done through its non-profit organization Music For Relief, we created this theme using pictures from disasters and relief efforts the organization has responded to or provided. This includes a wooden header with those images in polaroid format nailed to the wood. The rest of the theme makes use of the browns, greens and wood to pay tribute to MFR and the appearance of the MFR logo in the forums. If you are a supporter of MFR, this theme is for you.

    * 2.0 - And rounding out the themes is the theme 2.0. If you liked the 2.0 look of LPL, then this theme is for you. It features the similar look as 2.0 including the gray, black and green colors just as before. So if you want to hold on to the hold LPL look, here's your theme.

    With all this said, we hope you all enjoy the themes and getting to learn a little bit more about them. Again, more themes will certainly be coming, at least one a month depending on what's going on at the time, so we've just scratched the surface when it comes to the themes. If you have feedback on the current themes or ideas for future themes, post those here.

  10. Thank you for posting this Nick. I appreciate it. Guys, this story and blog really means a lot to me. Nashville is not far from my home and we were very lucky where I live to not get the worst of it. However, Nashville, a place near and dear to my heart and sometimes a place I refer to as a second home is facing so many hardships because of this flood. Friends that I have there are constantly cleaning up mud, pulling up carpet, drywall, etc. I can only imagine how bad it is elsewhere in the other states affected, too.

    I ask all of you to please help if you can. Be it monetary or through supplies. There is so much work to be done there as so many homes, schools, businesses and even national landmarks have been devastated by the storm. The blog contains all the ways you can give money and I'll post them here in a little bit. Even if you can't give money, please help spread the word through Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, etc. The southeast states need your help and even word of mouth goes a long way. I'll post updates as they come and thanks again to Nick for posting and for everyone's support so far and in the future.

  11. We apologize greatly for the forum downtime/errors this afternoon. LPLive was not hacked. We decided to upgrade and test IPB 3.0, but after many complaints and its incompatibility with current features, we decided to downgrade back to 2.6 for the time being. Things should be back to normal now and if you see anything that is not, please let us know that here. Thank you for your patience and again, we apologize for the inconvenience.

    Also, thanks to new LPLive user 'gleez' for uploading two amazing Japanese recordings of Chiba City and Osaka from this tour.

    08.08.2009 - Chiba City, JP - Download

    09.08.2009 - Osaka, JP - Download

    Check out the highlights of the shows! Osaka had 'Reading My Eyes' over the outro to 'Points'!

  12. i think its a great idea, if you take the right security cautions =D

    bcz the money can help to mantain the site, plus getting bought some uncirculated shows, or maybe pay something for tape some shows, or other things. anyway i think you should post a more organizated idea of what do with the money (exclusives-wise). ^^ that would motivate the people to contribute. anyway, choose a trustful person for save the money XD

    OFFTOPIC P.S.: what happened with the exclusive from the "series" of exclusives?, it was said that it would come in middle of the tour, XD the tour is almost ending

    There are more exclusives coming...I can personally vouch for that...the staff is just getting their ducks in a row, organizing stuff and deciding what's coming next...and of course, we want to space things out so you guys and gals don't get bored :P But know there is certainly more coming :)

  13. Well ladies and gentlemen, we are just a short time away from the final show of the Linkin Park Asian Tour. The show will take place at Cotai Arena @ The Venetian in Macao, China. This show will also close out what we're calling the three-show make-up series from last year's cancelled Music For Relief Asian Benefit Tour. Concluding this show, Linkin Park will then travel back home to the states where they will get a short reprieve before they play at Epicenter to wrap up for 2009.

    Thanks to the suggestions on Mike's blog, 'Dedicated' was debuted over the intro to 'Points Of Authority' at Taipei. So, this leaves to question - what will Mike rap over 'Points' at Macao? Thoughts?

    And finally, we are STILL in need of setlist information for the majority of the Asian leg of the tour. If you went to any of these shows, please let us know any information you can. It's as simple as looking at previous setlists and saying yes that's it and song 'X' was over POA. So please help us out if you can and do we have any LPLers out there going to the show tonight in Macao?

  14. Normally, we post Music For Relief news in the MFR section, but we felt this was worth mentioning on the Newswire. As most of you know, Typhoon Morakot struck and devastated the country of Taiwan earlier in the week, just days before Linkin Park was set to play today, August 13th. As a part of the relief effort, LP along with MFR made the decision to donate proceeds from today's Taiwan concert to benefit those affected by the disaster. Below you can find the full release as it was posted on musicforrelief.org. Additionally, if you want to help those affected by the disaster and donate to the cause through Music For Relief, click here.

    Also, it was noted that Linkin Park and the opening acts dedicated songs and/or spoke words to the Taiwan fans during the show who were more than likely impacted by the storm, including Chester. Video of his shoutout can be found here.

    LINKIN PARK DONATES PORTION OF CONCERT PROCEEDS TO BENEFIT TYPHOON VICTIMS

    August 12, 2009

    "Linkin Park, working with MFR, is donating a portion of proceeds from their Aug 13 show in Taipei, Taiwan to benefit victims of Typhoon Morakot.

    Typhoon Morakot struck Taiwan as a tropical storm earlier this week with winds of over 70 miles an hour. According to news reports, the damage has been devastating, with more than 10,000 dwellings toppled and hundreds trapped, possibly dead, as a result of mudslides.

    The funds will be contributed to World Vision Taiwan and their relief and rehabilitation efforts. In addition to being part of the evacuation effort, World Vision has distributed food, cleaning supplies and relief kits to hundreds of people living in emergency shelters in Taimali Township and Jiadug Township in Taiwan. World Vision is an international relief, development and advocacy organization dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice.
