GlassCastles Posted August 29 Posted August 29 The From Zero World Tour continues its trek west and the trend of hitting often-skipped markets as Linkin Park plays in Omaha, Nebraska! Gonna be a pretty short history lesson today, since we actually only have one known set in not only Omaha, but in Nebraska in general! Of the five shows the band has played in the state so far, four were during the Hybrid Theory (album, not band) era, and they just so happen to be among the shows we don't really know anything about. That still leaves one show, though! In 2008, the band stopped at the Qwest Center in Omaha as part of their 2008 Winter North American Tour! Like most sets from the Minutes To Midnight tour, it was a great one. This show got Set S, which means an incredibly rare lack of "Papercut", but it's hard to get too upset about that when you've got the iconic "A Place For My Head" and "One Step Closer" duo to close out the main set AND rare deep cuts like "In Pieces", "My December", and "In Between". That's of course on top of Minutes To Midnight staples like "Given Up", "What I've Done", and, at the time, "No More Sorrow", which hasn't been played in 14 years now! In the trademark "Points Of Authority" intro verse slot, Omaha got the tried and true "Petrified", which has become a somewhat regular verse for Mike's current "random verse rotation" during his solo medley. Linkin Park's last show in Omaha, Nebraska from 2008! And that's it for the history I can tell you about! Since we've got some extra time, and we're about halfway through of this leg of the tour, let's take a look at what's been going on this past month in the world of Linkin Park live (totally separate from Linkin Park Live)! For this second US run, we've mostly gone back to a standard Set A/B/C rotation like we've seen on past tours. Pay attention to that "mostly" part, though, we'll get to that in a minute. To start off the tour, set A featured From Zero cuts like "Casualty" and "Over Each Other" alongside older songs like "From The Inside" and "New Divide". Side note, nobody on this site 10 years ago would've believed you if you tried to tell them "New Divide" would become a rotation song. It also brought the "Faint" show closer back to the US for the first time since 2011! Talk about a throwback! That encore of "Papercut", "In The End", and "Faint" for the "Faint" closing set is one of the band's strongest encores. It hits that perfect sweet spot of popular songs and hardcore fan favorites. "Faint" live from Brooklyn, the first time "Faint" has closed a show in the US since 2011! Set B brought back the "Bleed It Out" closer and tossed in "Good Things Go" and "Cut The Bridge" from the new album. We also got "Given Up" and "A Place For My Head" as far as the older songs go. Then set C rounded things out with what I would consider the true "deep cuts" from From Zero (if there even are any at this point) in "IGYEIH", "Stained", and "Let You Fade". It's also the only set to feature "Points Of Authority", which has become shockingly rare considering it started the era as a staple. This set was also the first to get some tweaking, which came on the band's second night in Montreal. Instead of "IGYEIH", the band decided to call an audible and play "Keys To The Kingdom", another true rarity. It's kind of a shame this one doesn't have a staple spot in any of the sets, considering it's both the only The Hunting Party representation in the set and a heater of a song. "Keys To The Kingdom" live from Montreal night 2, a last minute swap with "IGYEIH" So what about tonight in Omaha? Well, they're due for a set A performance, but let's go back to that "mostly" word I tossed out there a few paragraphs ago. What I chose not to mention earlier is that the last time they played set A, they swapped out "Crawling" (which had been a staple across all 3 sets up to that point) with "Stained", marking the first time it appeared in act 1. They also added the song to act 1 in set B in place of "Cut The Bridge", which has effectively removed it from the rotation if that stays permanent. Set C stayed the same, presumably because "Stained" is already in that one, but that still leaves tonight up in the air. Will "Stained" block "Crawling" again? Could "Cut The Bridge" be migrating over to set A? Maybe "Lost In The Echo" will show up! Anything is possible! Regardless, it's safe to assume staples like "Overflow" and "Waiting For The End" will grace the Nebraskans, and I also feel pretty sure in guessing "Lies Greed Misery" will take that early act 2 rotation since Minneapolis got "Castle Of Glass". Whatever happens, it's sure to be a great show. bloodbath Posted August 29 Posted August 29 (edited) Since I'm not US citizen and there's a lot of stuff from your country I don't know, regarding LP isn't popular in this kind of places of the mid west, what type of artists sell out their tickets there? Edited August 29 by bloodbath Quote

I think it's more likely Omaha either gets overlooked, or when trying to put the tour together, perhaps the venue isn't available when they'd like to come through town. It's a big city, though. I'm fairly certain LP would do well there. Kind of like El Paso, TX. Quote

The likelihood that "Stained" would be played at the concert was very high, as it had also been played at the four previous concerts. I don't like the song at all; it's the weakest song on From Zero.
