    "Linkin Park started with us today. We had hoped to have them on sooner, but they were busy. To everyone who would have liked to see us with Linkin Park, maybe you'll see us next year with them. It was freezing cold in Columbus today. I don't know what the temp was, but being from California, we're used to 50 degree weather. I know it had to be in the 20's. Anyway, I wasn't feeling very good today; kind of achy. I knew I was coming down with something. I didn't get to watch the other bands, because I wanted to rest as much as I could. When it came time to play, I was feeling pretty bad, but as they say, the show must go on. I felt like crap for the first couple of songs, but after my adrenaline kicked in, I felt fine. I can't remember which song it was, but Jacoby grabbed this 5 year-old kid out of the audience and brought him on stage. The crowd went nuts, and the kid loved it. He started jumping up and down, and just rockin out. I have to say, it was pretty cool. We had a good show tonight, and the crowd was really good. Thanx everyone for helping us rock. until tomorrow...............-Jerry”

    Somewhere In Middle America - Tuesday, August 8th, 2000:

    We're sitting at a TA Travel Center eating and playing video games. Something is wrong with our RV, and our mechanic has ordered a new part. Last night we stayed in Oklahoma City enroute to Texas, where we will be playing four shows. We are on the home stretch of this tour, and are totally inspired by how much fun the shows have been. Kitt's Korner in Madison, Wisconsin went off extra hard as did our show in Grand Rapids. Systematic, who joined the tour in Michigan, is a rad band and is super fun to play with. Off-stage they specialize in home-made fireworks displays. Let's just hope all our gear remains in tact until our Roxy show August 16th. We'll see our LA people soon. The rehearsal was two and a half hours long and until the full footage is obtained, the setlist is incomplete. They played early versions of 'A Place For My Head' ('Esaul' at the time) and 'Forgotten' ('Rhinestone' at the time) as well as 'Slip', which was unknown from 2006 until 2011, when it was released on the LP Underground 11 album. While we know 'Esaul' and 'Rhinestone' were definitely played live, this is the only known performance of 'Slip'.

    - The performance of 'Slip' is a different version of the song (probably "further along" song-wise/a more worked-on version) than the version released on the LP Underground 11 album.

    - Before 'In The End', Mike promoted an early LPU-style "Bags of Fun", for (as Chester calls them) "the 3 craziest fuckers in the house".
    - Mike messed up the lyrics in the first verse of 'In The End'.
    - Chester sang part of 'Esaul' (the demo for 'A Place For My Head') during the chorus of 'A Place For My Head'.

    - To pump up the crowd and get them to jump, Chester screamed 'Get up! Get up! Get up when I'm talking to you!' during the bridge of 'One Step Closer'.

    - One of the first instances of Chester vomiting (or pretending to vomit) on One Step Closer can be seen at this show, on 'One Step Closer', where Chester sings, "One Step Closer to the edge and I'm about to raaablarrarghraraa!"

    Other Notes:

    - This show was not a part of a tour, it was for the radio station 98KUPD which played a lot of Linkin Park songs when they were just getting started. Many of Chester's friends and even some of his family in were attendance.
    - Music photographer Jim Louvau was the singer for Victims In Ecstacy. This is the show that started his friendship and work relationship with Chester Bennington. He told Sunray Magazine in 2021: "Chester and I met in 2000 when we played a show together in Phoenix, Arizona where we are both from. Linkin Park hadn’t released Hybrid Theory yet and we were just a couple dudes in bands at that point. He watched my band’s set that night and really liked what we were doing, I honestly only caught a very short part of their set that night but we kept running into each other at shows that year and we just became friends. I was able to capture him in numerous projects over the years, on and off the stage, and he’s a huge part of where I am today as an artist. After he passed away I wanted to honor him and share work we created together so I put together a photography exhibit that showcased some of what we did over the years. The exhibit may travel to other places at some point when it’s safe to do so."
