  1. Wow this really looks amazing. The only thing that REALLY bothers me is the fact that the not-yet-released live versions of Easier to Run and Hit the Floor are *only* on vinyl and not on CD. I don't have a vinyl player so I can't listen to them 😕 I mean sure I'll probably can download it from the Internet or listen to it on Spotify, but it's still not the same.

Pretty sure it's Warner. The label thought the DSP program wasn't getting them enough profit, so it made no sense for them to release older shows either.

According to Mike, the entire band hates the song.

Is there a source for this that the entire band hates the song? It's a bummer to hear that my favourite song of LP is the one they hate the most lol

  3. I really like the new songs, especially "Over Again". It's very touching and in the end I always have the feeling like Chester is singing the background vocals (These "ooo"s).

Actually I think that Over Again sounds more like Linkin Park than the album "One more light". I know i'll probably get some hate for this message, but for me I hear more LP out of it than of any song in OML.

  4. Actually I think if they continue, they'll keep their name. Just think about the name "Linkin Park". Everyone knows it, it's near to a brand than just the name of a band. They have Linkin Park Underground, a huge fan base and they are famous to at least two different generations. I doubt that they'll rename themself. They rather stop doing music at all

I don't see them 'breaking' up. This is not even the right term. They are not a built boyband, they are friends who know each other for their whole live. [...]

I also thought that "break up" is maybe the wrong term, but since my English skills aren't that advanced (yet), I just called it this way. It was hard for me anyway when I wrote the text.

Personally, I hope they'll look for a new singer, that has a similar voice like Chester in his early years. This is going to be hard to find, but I think it is possible. Just look at all the nice singers at YouTube doing Linkin Park covers.

  6. I know it might be too early to speak about that, but I made my thoughts about it anyway. If you feel unconfortable to speak about this topic, just ignore it for the moment.

The really sad news from yesterday told us that we now have to live in a world without Chester Bennington (It's still really hard for me to write these lines). But what does that mean for Linkin Park? Chester's voice was, at least for me, the thing that made the band awesome for me. He and Mike were like 90% of the band. Now at least 50% of the band are gone, so what does that mean for Linkin Park?

There are basically three possibilities that I consider:

    1. They break up

    2. They go on just with 5 members

    3. They are going to look for a new lead singer

For me, 2. is the unlikeliest since that means that they can't perform all the old songs with Chester as lead singer. I think 3. is the likeliest, since they have a really huge fan base and there are good singers out there who probably can take Chesters role. One thing is for sure: Linkin Park will never be the same without Chester Bennington. I don't know yet if I could listen to LP with a new singer. But otherway, I would be sad if I couldn't hear Mike again.

What are your thoughts about this?

  7. I just listened through it. It's not a "bad" album like in "the songs are bad". I enjoy some of the songs. The real problem I have is, it's music from Linkin Park. Many of the songs sound like all the songs running at radio stations since three years, and that's not what I expect from Linkin Park. In past times, mainstream radio musicians were copying the music LP did. With this album, I think the opposite is the case.

For me, it's the worst album by Linkin Park, by far. It has some decent songs, some bad songs, and a really bad song (Heavy). But nothing is exciting. This is going to be the first album which I don't buy.

  8. Well. The song is, as some of you already said, not very bad, but not very good either. It's below average for Linkin Park for sure, but less annoying than Heavy or BS.

Also I want to say, this is probably the first album where I think Mike sings better than Chester. 8 years ago, I never thought I ever would say this.

  9. I must say, Chester sounds like a thousand times better in this performance than in the recorded version. Why did he had to sing this ugly "I'm crying soon" way instead of singing proberly? I mean, I just listened to "Pushing me away" and his voice sounds awesome if he just sings silent and calm like in the verses of PMA.

Though, even if Chester sounds good on this song live, I still don't think it's a good song. It is catchy indeed and it's something I would always sing with when I'm at a concert or something, but it's nothing I want from Linkin Park.

  10. Well, it's hard for me to find words for this sond. I've been a fan of Linkin Park since 2009, but I always listened more to their older stuff. I was kinda shocked about ATS, but it has the vibe of Linkin Park. Living Things had some good songs, but it was far away of the quality of Meteora. THP was nice - but it felt like the album wasn't finished. And now this - I'm just disappointed. Chester sounds weaker than ever. I'm surprised that the thing that I like the most on that song is Kiiara. She sounds good and like a hundred times stronger than Chester.

If the rest of the album sounds like Heavy, I'm done with Linkin Park as my favourite band.

  11. [...]

And now the final clip just made me realize how much I hate Chester singing it in this style. On top of that it sounds really messy to me. I'm really hoping it comes across much smoother on the finished product and that hopefully Kiiara does at least sing a verse or be very audible in the chorus.

I agree on this. Also his voice does sound kinda weak if you ask me. It's far away from what it used to be even 7 years ago when ATS got released.

  12. The song not release yet, how you know/identify their direction? The lyric, for me, it's understandable. Just like how they wrote lyrics for Hybrid Theory. But i understand, some people expect their music back to the roots, which it's impossible. Let's wait till Thursday.

Well I mean the hints they show are a good indicator for the direction they seem to go.
