Collision Course 20 Post

I don’t mean to take away from the From Zero hype (epic album), but Collision Course is turning 20 at the end of this month. 
 

I know Mike said that they liking won’t be doing anything for it, 

 

BUT

 

what if they just gave us LP’s songs from the set at The Roxy on YouTube? Wouldn’t require any kind of release, it wouldn’t be hard for them to do, just a little nod, something the fans have wanted for a while. 
 

Personally, I don’t mind that they aren’t celebrating Collision Course 20 because there really isn’t any demos to release or B-Sides. Don’t care if there isn’t any merch, although maybe 1 shirt would be ok. I do hope they could give us the LP set from The Roxy, though!!!

 

I don’t see why they couldn’t, legally. Some people have said it’s too hard to release stuff with Jay-Z but this is just LP’s own songs from that set. No Jay-Z, although if they want to give us the whole show, hell yes. I mean they surely own the rights to Collision Course, no? They reissued it in 2014 on blue vinyl (I own it and they included the Roxy and Making Of DVD in it’s own DVD slip case with it), plus released Collision Course again on vinyl a few months ago. So I think they could give us The Roxy show. 
 

Maybe LPL can ask Mike specifically for the LP portion of The Roxy set on YouTube for November 30th? He seems to be listening to what fans want lately!! This is likely our only chance to ever get this released.

Pretty sure that they won't release anything w Chester on vocals for a while.

Pessoalmente, não me importo que eles não estejam comemorando o Collision Course 20 porque realmente não há demos para lançar ou B-Sides. Não me importo se não houver nenhum produto, embora talvez uma camisa fosse ok. Espero que eles possam nos dar o conjunto de LPs do The Roxy, no entanto!!!

 

Não vejo por que eles não poderiam, legalmente. Algumas pessoas disseram que é muito difícil lançar coisas com Jay-Z, mas isso são apenas as próprias músicas do LP daquele set. Não Jay-Z, embora se eles quiserem nos dar o show inteiro, inferno sim. Quero dizer, eles certamente possuem os direitos de Collision Course, não? Eles o relançaram em 2014 em vinil azul (eu o possuo e eles incluíram o DVD Roxy e Making Of em seu próprio estojo de DVD com ele), além de lançar Collision Course novamente em vinil alguns meses atrás. Então eu acho que eles poderiam nos dar o show do Roxy. 
 

Talvez a LPL possa pedir especificamente a Mike a parte LP do set The Roxy no YouTube para 30 de novembro? Ele parece estar ouvindo o que os fãs querem ultimamente!! Esta é provavelmente nossa única chance de lançar isso. 

I would love to see this show in full.I think it's almost impossible that they'll release it, but who knows...

Por que eles não podem simplesmente nos dar as 5 músicas do LP apenas no YouTube como nos deram aquele proshot QWERTY de Tóquio 2006 este ano? Não vejo por que é tão difícil para eles fazerem isso. Não requer nenhum lançamento físico, nenhum produto, nada. Literalmente apenas um upload do YouTube. E Jay-Z nem foi destaque, é literalmente apenas LP.

I think the same way. I think I already said this in some thread last year.

There is no need to release a CD, box set or anything else, just upload these songs to YouTube and we will be extremely happy.

You're all right. It would be very easy to just upload a short 20 minute set to youtube and call it a day. BUT the situation it very different from the Papercuts "era", which basically was a celebration of the classic LP era. This is a matter of being coherent with your message. Since September the band has made very clear that they're looking forward to their future, not being locked in the past, albeit being respectful with it. Releasing that old show would just cast the image of a band unable to let go its past, even in the middle of a new release and a huge world tour. No matter how many things they do, they're stuck in that era. 

 

And yes, we all know that in reality just a short show wouldn't undermine the new era of LP and this is just a good gesture with the fans, but we are the hardcore fans, we are a tiny minority and many people out there don't think like us.

Não importa quantas coisas eles façam, eles estão presos naquela era. 

 

E sim, todos nós sabemos que, na realidade, apenas um show curto não prejudicaria a nova era do LP e este é apenas um bom gesto com os fãs, mas nós somos fãs hardcore, somos uma pequena minoria e muitas pessoas por aí não pensam como nós.

I believe that the closest we'll get to having something, especially with Chester, will be with MTM20. Demos, never-before-released songs, exclusive shows, etc...

Because until then, there will be time to consolidate Emily among fans in general.

I think it's fair and reasonable. Emily knows what she's gotten into, when a huge milestone comes, like the 20th anniversary of one of the most important albums of the band, she will know that her position will be more of a back character. But until then she has all the right to be in the spotlight, while the band supporting her and leaving behind that image of nostalgia act.

I believe we will have a box set up until ATS.
maybe an HT30? we don't know.
I think we won't have anything after ATS.

the band might surprise us in the future, who knows...
