Tour Diary:We just got done playing Laga in Pittsburgh. The show was awesome; there was a line of kids around the block to see the show. The place was packed, and we did our best to entertain. It all went well, the crowd was probably one of the largest and most energetic yet, and subsequently we spent the next two/three hours after the show meeting all the (mostly new) fans and giving them tapes to listen to. But that's not to overlook all the other shows on this tour; the crowds have been totally receptive. We've had a great time playing in every new city. We've never played in any of these places before, and every new fan we meet makes us that much more energized to play harder and better every time. So, to everyone who's supporting the band: thank you. And we'll see you in Grand Rapids on July 31st. Thanks-Mike

Tour Diary:Somewhere In Middle America - Tuesday, August 8th, 2000:
We're sitting at a TA Travel Center eating and playing video games. Something is wrong with our RV, and our mechanic has ordered a new part. Last night we stayed in Oklahoma City enroute to Texas, where we will be playing four shows. We are on the home stretch of this tour, and are totally inspired by how much fun the shows have been. Kitt's Korner in Madison, Wisconsin went off extra hard as did our show in Grand Rapids. Systematic, who joined the tour in Michigan, is a rad band and is super fun to play with. Off-stage they specialize in home-made fireworks displays. Let's just hope all our gear remains in tact until our Roxy show August 16th. We'll see our LA people soon. Linkin Park sat on the side of the stage for their set, and Papa Roach did the same for them. There were a few girls in the front row during LP's set who kept yelling "Coby! Coby!". After becoming friends at the show, this is where/when Papa Roach invited Linkin Park to open their December 2000 tour for them. According to Jeff Blue's "One Step Closer: From Xero to #1: Becoming Linkin Park" book, Papa Roach had already heard the band's material back in October 1998 when they were called Xero and loved the music.
- Brad in an interview later in 2000 answering "the biggest audience LP had played in front of": "We played an Atlanta radio festival show with a number of really great huge bands like Stone Temple Pilots, Green Day, Deftones, Incubus, Papa Roach among others. And the official crowd number at that show was 18,000. There were two stages, so we probably ended up playing for close to 10,000 people, and that was a pretty amazing feeling. The most incredible rush I've gotten onstage, however, actually occurred at Roseland ballroom in NY because there were probably 4,000 people packed into a club and the entire crowd was reacting to our music. Or at least that's how it felt. Someone might have been talking in the back, but onstage it was pretty amazing."
