    "Linkin Park started with us today. We had hoped to have them on sooner, but they were busy. To everyone who would have liked to see us with Linkin Park, maybe you'll see us next year with them. It was freezing cold in Columbus today. I don't know what the temp was, but being from California, we're used to 50 degree weather. I know it had to be in the 20's. Anyway, I wasn't feeling very good today; kind of achy. I knew I was coming down with something. I didn't get to watch the other bands, because I wanted to rest as much as I could. When it came time to play, I was feeling pretty bad, but as they say, the show must go on. I felt like crap for the first couple of songs, but after my adrenaline kicked in, I felt fine. I can't remember which song it was, but Jacoby grabbed this 5 year-old kid out of the audience and brought him on stage. The crowd went nuts, and the kid loved it. He started jumping up and down, and just rockin out. I have to say, it was pretty cool. We had a good show tonight, and the crowd was really good. Thanx everyone for helping us rock. until tomorrow...............-Jerry”

    - Brad in an interview later in 2000 answering "the biggest audience LP had played in front of": "We played an Atlanta radio festival show with a number of really great huge bands like Stone Temple Pilots, Green Day, Deftones, Incubus, Papa Roach among others. And the official crowd number at that show was 18,000. There were two stages, so we probably ended up playing for close to 10,000 people, and that was a pretty amazing feeling. The most incredible rush I've gotten onstage, however, actually occurred at Roseland ballroom in NY because there were probably 4,000 people packed into a club and the entire crowd was reacting to our music. Or at least that's how it felt. Someone might have been talking in the back, but onstage it was pretty amazing."

     Tour Diary:

    Somewhere In Middle America - Tuesday, August 8th, 2000:

    We're sitting at a TA Travel Center eating and playing video games. Something is wrong with our RV, and our mechanic has ordered a new part. Last night we stayed in Oklahoma City enroute to Texas, where we will be playing four shows. We are on the home stretch of this tour, and are totally inspired by how much fun the shows have been. Kitt's Korner in Madison, Wisconsin went off extra hard as did our show in Grand Rapids. Systematic, who joined the tour in Michigan, is a rad band and is super fun to play with. Off-stage they specialize in home-made fireworks displays. Let's just hope all our gear remains in tact until our Roxy show August 16th. We'll see our LA people soon.
