Even though Sean Dowdell And His Friends? and Grey Daze are two completely different bands that Sean and Chester just both happened to be in, we decided to cover both bands on the same page due to their very close relation and an obvious lack of known Sean Dowdell And His Friends? shows. We just know there were at least a few dozens of them around the Phoenix area.
According to Jonathan Krause, Grey Daze was actually spelled as "Gray Daze" for a few months once the band was formed, so their list of shows is split in two sections as well to cover this very minor, but still notable name change. Altough it was denied by Sean, the earliest fliers we have so far indicate Jonathan is correct.
Grey Daze were very active at the time and made themselves a name on the local scene as a household live band, but the list below is very incomplete, because this info is very hard to obtain after so many years. The band played the absolute majority of their gigs in the club called Electric Ballroom in Tempe, hence the big number of shows in that venue in the list.
Sometime in 1998, Chester (along with their then-current bassist Mace) decided to leave the band. Shortly after that, the remaining members of Grey Daze were joined by a female singer named Jodi Wendt and bassist Dave Sardegna. The band did a few shows as Grey Daze, but then ultimately changed its name to Waterface.
