    - ReAct Now: Music & Relief was a four and a half hour long benefit concert that was aired on MTV, VH1, CMT, MTV2, MTVU, etc, which raised about $30 million for Hurricane Katrina relief efforts via the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army, and America's Second Harvest (which has been changed to Feeding America in 2008). It featured both live and taped performances from artists in New York, Los Angeles and Nashville.

    - Chester participated in the event joining Motley Crue to perform their classic 'Home Sweet Home', and also performed his own song 'Let Down' with Ryan Shuck and Amir Derakh from Orgy/Julien-K and, later, Dead By Sunrise. The page for their 'Let Down' performance can be found in Dead By Sunrise's section of the site.

    Other Notes:

    - Traveling overnight from a concert the night before in Birmingham, AL, Motley Crue hooked up Chester and producer Desmond Child in Nashville to perform on the event. Within hours of the television performance they had arranged for a 26-member gospel choir and 25-piece orchestra to record a new studio version of the song at Nashville's Oceanway Studios. Motley Crue then proceeded directly to the Starwood Amphitheater to play their previously scheduled concert, arriving within minutes of show time. "It was a whirlwind 24 hours, but everyone rose to the occasion" said the song's Executive Producer and Motley Crue manager, Allen Kovac.

    - The studio version of the song was released on iTunes on September 27th and was later heavily distributed by other US digital music services through The Orchard marketing company. 100% of the proceeds has been donated to the American Red Cross Hurricane Relief Effort and Mercy Corps. The music video partially consisted of the live footage from the event was released on the same day on AOL Music.

    - Motley Crue's bassist Nikki Sixx: "Chester was originally scheduled to play the MTV "ReAct Now" benefit concert in Los Angeles but when he heard what we were doing he wanted to help with this song and video and chose to do his performance in Nashville with us. He flew in late the night before and was in the studio early the next morning. Chester is a real artist that will be making a difference for a long time."

    - A CD single release was planned for the song for traditional retail outlets and was going to include exclusive behind-the-scenes "making of" documentary, but it was never released.

    - Metal Skool spotted Chester in the crowd and asked him to come out on stage and sing with them, so he joined the band to perform 'Welcome To The Jungle'.

    Other Notes:

    - This was the first time that Chester joined Metal Skool for any song.

    - No audio or video has surfaced from this show, but there are several pictures of Chester that surfaced the day after the show.

    - A short video of Chester performing 'Rainbow In The Dark' was found on MySpace in January 2007 and since then was believed to be from the same show, but, after comparing the video and photos from the event, it was discovered in late 2015 that the video is actually from a different show, because Chester clothes and hair don't match up. The source code for the video revealed that it was a performance on September 18, 2006.

    - The band changed its name to Steel Panther in 2008.

    - Excerpt from the NoiseCreep interview with the band's vocalist Michael Starr: "Were like heavy metal missionaries [ ...] Our job is not only to bring metal back to people who long for it, but were also here to change the face of music as it is today. The way to do that is really by evangelizing. We pretty much baptized Kelly Clarkson into metal with whiskey and some Guns N Roses. If you look at her now, everythings a little different now. Clarkson retreated to her hotter look [...] and now that shes showing off her body more, her sales have increased [...] Its like were planting these heavy metal seeds in all these stupid contemporary artists brains [...] Mentally theyre going to blossom into heavy metal guys and women. Another disguised heavy metal band is Linkin Park. Chester got up and ripped it up. Honestly dude, Im going to be honest here: I thought Linkin Park was totally gay. Theyre not metal. He got up and sang and I was like, This guy can totally sing. I started listening to their older stuff a little bit because there was this girl I had sex with her daughter was listening to it. Thats not too bad. Its metal but its kind of that disguised metal because people are so afraid to look like we do and to rock. Think about it".

    - The majority of the guests from the night came out to sing 'I Wanna Be Your Dog' by Iggy & The Stooges as the last song for the set, but it is unknown if Chester was present as well.

    Other Notes:

    - Private event.

    - This was an after-show concert for the 121st AES Convention.

    - Chester came out to perform 'Whole Lotta Love', 'Highway To Hell' and 'Mountain Song' with the band.

    - This was the second Chester's appearance with Camp Freddy and the very first time that he performed 'Mountain Song' with them. Shortly after performance, the description of the show on Camp Freddy's website stated that his performance of it was 'amazing': "A private party down in Costa Mesa, OC. Camp Freddy played for an hour to a small, invited audience and highlights included Chester Bennington's amazing version of Mountain Song, Steve Stevens and Mark McGrath on Ted Nugent's Cat Scratch Fever, and Poison guitarist CC Deville in his first Camp Freddy appearance, playing Nuthin But A Good Time, and ACDC's Highway To Hell".

    - This was the first time that Chester performed with Dave Navarro. In the interview dedicated to their Black Tooth Bash appearance in 2007, Dave Navarro also recalls this show: "Before the show, Navarro told Spinner he's become a true fan of Bennington since the two played together at a Camp Freddy show. "He's a fucking incredible vocalist. He's the real deal," Navarro says. "I performed with Chester and saw what a true talent he is. I went home that night and downloaded off iTunes because I wanted to hear his voice. Frankly, it was close to the same feeling I had when Steven Tyler joined us -- where you're just like, 'Holy shit, this guy is unbelievable".

    - The majority of the guests from the night came out to sing 'I Wanna Be Your Dog' by Iggy & The Stooges as the last song for the set, but it is unknown if Chester was present as well.

    Other Notes:

    - Private event.

    - The only known recordings of Chester to ever surface from this show are too different cellphone clips of him performing 'Highway To Hell'.

    - Chester joined The Doors 40th Anniversary celebration to perform a set of their songs with the surviving members of the band - Ray Manzarek & Robbie Krieger, as well as former Guns 'N Roses guitarist Slash and members of the band Satellite Party - Perry Farrell (vocals), Nuno Bettencourt (guitar), Carl Restivo (bass) and Kevin Figueiredo (drums).

    - Even though the band's original drummer John Densmore participated in celebration hosting Jim Morrison's poetry reading in the bookstore called Book Soap before the show and signing music memorabilia for fans during the band's show at Whisky, he refused to perform, estranged from his former bandmates after a lawsuit over use of the group's name. Chester and Sattelite Party also participated in the poetry reading in Book Soap. The bookstore is situated just across the street from Whisky A Go Go, so after the event was finished, the party proceeded to Whisky to do the show.

    - According to show attendee, the band did an impromptu acoustic jam in the dressing room, with everyone, including Chester, singing the songs by The Doors: "THAT was a once-in-a-lifetime experience to witness, and one I will NEVER forget for the rest of my life". Shirley Halperin of RollingStone.com also reported: "Before taking the stage, the guys — along with a dozen friends and family (including LINKIN PARK's Mike Shinoda, AUDIOSLAVE's Tom Morello and PUDDLE OF MUDD's Wes Scantlin) — staged a last-minute rehearsal/jam session in an upstairs dressing room. With Bennington taking the lead on "Light My Fire", Farrell guiding the sing-along through "L.A. Woman" and Slash ripping straight into THE ROLLING STONES' "Sympathy for the Devil" (on acoustic guitar no less), passersby — and even the city fire marshals who came to break up the hallway cluster-fuck — stood with mouths agape in awe". Chester likely contributed to all of the songs during the session, but we can't verify this.

    - After 'Break On Through', Slash and Chester left the stage while Perry sang 'Touch Me'. Slash went home, and Chester came out to do the rest of the set. There were a few conflicting reports as to whether Chester performed with Perry during 'LA Woman' or not.

    Other Notes:

    - The show was sold out.

    - Actor Val Kilmer, who played The Doors singer Jim Morrison in the 1991 movie "The Doors", reportedly rehearsed 'Break On Through' with the band earlier in the day to do a surprise appearance, but stormed out after learning that he would have to share the microphone with Bennington and Farrell.

    - Chester headlined the event performing six cover songs with friends. His backing band included Elias Andra (former Julien-K/Dead By Sunrise drummer), Steve Stevens (guitarist for Billy Idol), Billy Morrison (guitarist for Billy Idol and Camp Freddy) and Robbie Merrill (bassist for Godsmack). This was the only time this lineup has joined him live.

    - This was the first time that Chester has ever performed 'My Generation', 'Like A Rolling Stone', 'Friday I'm In Love' and 'Helter Skelter' in public.

    Other Notes:

    - According to Chester, he wanted Camp Freddy to play, but a few of the guys couldn’t make it, so he put this one-time-only group together for the event. He also said: “I wanted to do something really fun [...] And I wanted to bring a bunch of guys who are really good at what they do and enthusiastic. I actually play a lot with Billy Morrison. We’re in a band called Camp Freddy together. It’s a bunch of rock stars who get together and hang out and have a good time playing covers of other people’s music. So that’s how I got to know Billy.”

    - Chester did a private rehearsal for this show on the same day in Casa Grande, AZ. Some of the guys weren't in town yet, so he rehearsed the songs with Robbie Merrill, Bruce Menchen and Darren Bradford in an unidentified place. A short video of the band rehearsing 'Friday I'm In Love' exists and is on YouTube.

    - PhoenixNewTimes reports: "On October 27, at the Montelucia Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, The Cardon Children’s Medical Center hosted their third annual Stars of the Season Gala Fundraiser. The event raised over a quarter of a million dollars for the Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery program. The sold out event had over 600 guests, and were hosted by special guest, Ted Stryker, from Los Angeles radio station KROQ. Linkin Park frontman, Chester Bennington also hosted the event with a live rock performance covering songs from The Who, The Beatles, The Cure, and Oasis. Supporting Chester were fellow friends and performers from Camp Freddy, Billy Morrison (The Cult), Steve Stevens (Billy Idol), Elias Andra (Dead by Sunrise) and Robbie Merrill (GodSmack). Also in attendance were NFL players Larry Fitzgerald and NFL Hall of Famer, Steve Young".

    - In his second appearance with them in less than a month, Chester joined Metal Skool for the Dio cover 'Rainbow In The Dark'. A short video of him performing the song was found on MySpace in January 2007 and since then was believed to be from the August show. After comparing the video and photos from the event, it was discovered in late 2015 that the video is actually from this Metal Skool show, because Chester clothes and hair don't match up. The date was found from the source code of the MySpace video.

    Other Notes:

    - On October 27, 2012, Bruce Menchen, a Casa Grande, AZ musician, posted a photo to his Facebook page of himself rehearsing with Chester, Darren Bradford and Godsmack's bassist Robbie Merrill. He then uploaded a video to YouTube on June 17, 2013 of himself jamming The Cure's 'Friday I'm In Love' with them. This was obviously a rehearsal for Chester's 'Stars Of The Season' show later that night with fellow musicians filling in for Billy Morrison, Steve Stevens and, probably, Elias Andra, most likely because they weren't all in town yet.

    - The band also likely performed The Who's 'My Generation', Bob Dylan's 'Like A Rolling Stone', Oasis' 'Wonderwall', David Bowie's 'Suffragette City' and The Beatles' 'Helter Skelter' during this rehearsal as well.

    - Bruce Menchen and Darren Bradford are members of Elias Andra's band called Feel Good Factor.

    Other Notes:

    - As a part of his trip to China, Chester performed solo with an acoustic guitar for a few fans at Wangfujing, one of the most popular outdoor street markets in Beijing. It appears he just walked up to a street performance gathering and was asked to play a song.

    - Lyrics:

"I don't even know what song this is

Ok, you guys all ready to sing with me?

We're going to make up the words, because I don't know what I'm doing

    - This show marks the third time that Chester performed a Stone Temple Pilots song without the rest of the band since his Grey Daze days, with the first time being his Dell World 2012.12.11 appearance with Camp Freddy ('Sex Type Thing') and the second time - his 2016.06.14 "Let It Die" party appearance with The Hellcat Saints ('Down').

    - 'Whole Lotta Love' was the last song on the printed setlist and 'Paradise City' was added at the last minute by the band, after 'Whole Lotta Love'.

    Other Notes:

    - Royal Machines is the newer incarnation of Camp Freddy. Camp Freddy were disbanded and reformed as Royal Machines around April, 2014. Consisting of the same musicians (Dave Navarro, Mark McGrath, Billy Morrison, Chris Chaney and others), the only difference between the bands is its title and the ultimate exclusion of Matt Sorum. This was Chester's first appearance with Royal Machines after being a steady guest with Camp Freddy for about ten years prior.

    - This was a private event held on the same night as the Republican National Convention. On July 14th, Royal Machines announced,

    "Time to clear the air:

Yes- we are playing in Cleveland, Ohio on July 21 at a charity event for Boulder Crest Retreat for Military & Veteran Wellness. I believe this is the 3rd of 4th time that we have had the opportunity to be a part of raising funds for such a great facility.

This is not a political event and it is not a part of the RNC. In fact, we'll probably be onstage when the nominee is speaking.

    Don't believe the hype".
