2008 Drum Solo Intro; Ext. Bridge & Ending w/ Street Drum Corps

    - Mike rapped verse one of 'Petrified' over the intro of 'Points Of Authority' and verse one of 'There They Go' over the outro.

    - Mike rapped the first verse of 'Hands Held High' over the Reanimated intro to 'Crawling'. Chris Cornell then joined the band for the song and sang the entire second verse, the outro, and Aaron's harmonies.

    - Street Drum Corps performed on the intro to 'No More Sorrow', and came back out on the bridge of 'Bleed It Out'.

    - Busta Rhymes, his backing vocalist Spliff Star, and Adam Monroe from ASHES dIVIDE joined the band for 'We Made It'. Mike really messed up his part on 'We Made It'. He skipped his entire verse except for the last few lines.

    - The band messed up the intro to 'Pushing Me Away' and had to restart the song. This was because Mike was still playing the outro piano piece to 'Numb' when the 'Pushing Me Away' intro sample started, so he had to get up and get his guitar before the song could start again.

    - This is an amended version of Setlist Z from the European Tour. Every song after 'Leave Out All The Rest' was jumbled up, and 'We Made It' replaced 'A Place For My Head'.

    - Mike rapped his verse from 'Bloc Party' over the intro of 'Points Of Authority'.

    - 'Reading My Eyes' was performed for the first time since 2006.08.15 Sendai. Mike had a nice talk about the "old days" just before it.

    - 'Wake' was performed as the new version of 'Wake', entitled 'Wake 2.0'.

    - As far as intros and outros go... 'One Step Closer' and 'Lying From You' had brand new intros. 'No More Sorrow' had the long intro, 'Papercut' had its long intro, 'Given Up' had the short outro, 'Crawling' had the Reanimated intro, 'Bleed It Out' had a drum solo but no speedup or bridge sing-a-long, 'What I've Done' did not have an intro, and 'Faint' had the extended outro.

    - This was the first show of summer 2008 for Linkin Park. It followed a much needed break after the band had been touring consistently since the album release in May 2007.

    - This show makes the start of the third batch of new setlists the band has used over the last year. The first batch - A, B, C, and sometimes D, were used for Projekt Revolution 2007, New Zealand/Australia 2007, and Asia 2007. The second batch - R, S, and T, were used for the European 2008 Winter Tour and the North American 2008 Winter Tour. This is the third batch for the touring cycle, consisting of X, Y and Z. This setlist for Skive is dubbed "Set X".

    - The band performed for the first time a brand new version of 'Wake', entitled 'Wake 2.0'.

    - 'Lying From You' was performed with a new intro, entitled by us the 2008 Intro.

    - Busta Rhymes and Spliff Star joined the band for 'We Made It'.

    - This was a secret show, and was by invitation only from the LPU. Only fourteen fans were chosen to attend. They were blindfolded and taken from Warner Bros HQ in Hollywood to Third Encore, the location of the band's rehearsal spot. Mike said that this was the first time ever that any fans had ever been let into the band's rehearsal studio.

    - 'Fell On Black Days' was supposed to be performed by Chester and Chris Cornell after 'Leave Out All The Rest', but it didn't happen for some reason.

    - It was announced that Busta Rhymes would join Linkin Park on the Projekt Revolution Tour.

    - Chris Cornell and Atreyu were in attendance, which hinted that Chester would join Chris Cornell for a song during his set on Projekt Revolution 2008. It actually turned out to be 'Hunger Strike' instead of 'Fell On Black Days'.

    - These rehearsals (not this exact day, but May 2008) were the ones where 'No Roads Left' was worked on and was supposed to be a part of the Set X encore. Instead, the band decided to drop the song for the tour and replace it with 'Pushing Me Away' (Piano Version).

    - This show was announced on October 3, 2008, just three days beforehand. A press release on the Verizon Wireless website read: "LAS VEGAS, NV — The University of Nevada Las Vegas has won the Verizon Wireless “Remix2Win with Linkin Park” national contest thanks to Valerie Cossio, Class of 2009, who submitted the winning remix. Cossio’s prize, as a representative of UNLV, is a private Linkin Park concert for 2,000 of her fellow Rebels. The concert will be held at The Joint in Las Vegas on Oct. 6, 2008, and those who attend will also hear Cossio’s winning remixes of Linkin Park’s hit songs “Crawling” and “In the End.”"

    - On October 6, 2008, Verizon Wireless released another press release about the show saying, "LAS VEGAS, NV — Following a statement issued by Linkin Park regarding the cancellation of tonight’s concert for UNLV due to the injury of lead singer Chester Bennington, Verizon Wireless’ Ed Ruth, director of digital music for Verizon, said the following: “Verizon Wireless congratulates the University of Nevada Las Vegas and Valerie Cossio for winning the ‘Remix2Win with Linkin Park’ national contest. We sincerely regret that tonight’s concert has been cancelled due to these unforeseen circumstances. Verizon Wireless will be in contact with the University and Valerie as soon as more information is available about the band’s health and schedule.”" The official announcement by Linkin Park read: "Los Angeles, CA (October 6, 2008) - Linkin Park has been forced to cancel tonight's concert at the The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel, as lead vocalist Chester Bennington has sustained a back injury and is under doctor's orders to rest. Linkin Park sincerely regrets this unavoidable cancellation and apologizes to fans for any disappointment caused." Mike posted this on his blog: "FROM MIKE: We're bummed...Chester hurt his back, and is in quite a bit of pain. Please think good thoughts for our friend."

    - Instead of rescheduling the show, the band flew Valerie to Europe to see them perform on July 21, 2009 in Athens, Greece along with giving her a M&G pass.

    - The day after this show was supposed to take place, the band canceled their Asia Tour.

    - The band continued to use a different setlist due to Chester being sick. Going off of the Oklahoma setlist the show before, the only changes were 'In Pieces' replacing 'Leave Out All The Rest' and 'In Between' replacing 'My December (Piano Version)'. 'No More Sorrow', 'Given Up' (the first show after the video was released), and 'Points Of Authority' were still not played. 'Papercut had the 'There They Go' outro of 'Points Of Authority'.

    - Mike explained the band's recent trip to New Orleans before 'The Little Things Give You Away'.

    - The 'Valentine's Day' intro appeared on the setlist as 'Valentine's Day (w / gtr intro)' for the first time.

    - 'Bleed It Out' on the setlist appeared as 'Bleed It Out (w / #5)'. Mr. Hahn used the Leroy Jenkins sample again before the song.

    - 'Breaking The Habit' was performed with no intro or outro, but Mike did a little piano improv before the song.

    - The show was sold out, and featured 360 degree seating. This was the third show on the tour that had it, following New York and Montreal.

    - Many Hollywood stars were at the show, including Paris Hilton and her boyfriend Benji Madden from the band Good Charlotte. Mike briefly talked about the stars being at the show before 'Bleed It Out'.

    - Mike rapped verse one of 'In Stereo' over the intro of 'Points Of Authority'.

    - 'What I've Done' was performed with a Mike piano intro instead of the AMBO Intro it had earlier in 2008.

    - Someone's guitar (Mike?) came in late on 'Wake 2.0'.

    - Mike messed up the new intro to 'Lying From You'.

    - During 'Points Of Authority', Chester went down to the crowd.

    - Mike went into the crowd on 'In The End' and 'A Place For My Head'.

    - The intro to 'Pushing Me Away' was stopped and restarted so that Chester could address the crowd.

    - 'Pushing Me Away' was performed for the first time since 2002.03.02 Mexico City.

    - The show was advertised as being on the 6th, but Linkin Park did not play until 12:45am local time, making the date of their performance the 7th.

    - This was the debut of "Set Y".

    - The Linkin Park stage was already set up with fans in the crowd before this show was cancelled.

    - There were three announcements on the cancellation of this show. First, Linkin Park posted an announcement on the band's website that read, "We have been forced to cancel tonight's concert at the Hultsfred Festival in Sweden and tomorrow night's show at the Greenfields Festival in Interlaken, Switzerland as guitarist Brad Delson is ill and under doctor's orders to rest for a few days. We sincerely regret this unavoidable cancellation and apologize to fans for any disappointment caused." Next, Mike updated his blog to say, "to all the swedish fans: we are extremely sorry about the cancellation of the show tonight. we all sincerely wanted to come and play for you, but our boy brad is sick. this afternoon, the doctor ordered that brad not travel, so the show became an impossibility. we were obviously very disappointed and frustrated. we rarely cancel, and i know this is the second time we've had to cancel playing there. the band feels very bad about this uncontrollable situation, and hope to make it up to you as soon as we can…", and finally the band released a statement to Swedish press saying, "We are immensely disappointed and frustrated to be unable to play for you at Hultsfred today. We were so looking forward to entertaining and experiencing the crowd at your amazing festival but illness means it is totally impossible. We hope to make it up to all our Swedish fans as soon as we can."

    - As mentioned above, this was the second time that the band had to cancel their appearance at the festival, the first coming in 2003.

    - With all festivals, we list the other bands that were playing before Linkin Park on the same stage. In the case of this show, we are unsure of who exactly was on the Main Stage before LP. If you have any information and can help us out, please let us know! We have narrowed it down to most of these bands likely playing on the same day as Linkin Park.

    - Linkin Park played a shortened setlist. Dropped songs from this set were 'Don't Stay', 'Valentine's Day', and 'In Pieces'. 'Pushing Me Away' was played in it's piano form instead of the regular album version.

    - 'Breaking The Habit' was played as a keyboard-and-vocal only performance, like 'Pushing Me Away', for the first time ever. It featured the piano intro. This is also the first time that 'Breaking The Habit' has ever opened the setlist.

    - Only Mike and Chester appeared on stage until 'What I've Done'.

    - The first verse of 'Hands Held High' acapella was done over a keyboard piece and led into the 'What I've Done' album transition from 'Shadow Of The Day'.

    - Mike rapped verse one of 'Petrified' over the intro of 'Points Of Authority' and verse one of 'There They Go' over the outro.

    - A Canadian flag was put on Mike's keyboard before 'Leave Out All The Rest'.

    - 'Crawling' was performed without an extended 'Krwlng' intro.

    - Halfway through 'A Place For My Head', the lights went out. The band played the rest of the song in darkness. The lights came back on right near the end of 'One Step Closer'.

    - This was the first time a full piano version of 'Breaking The Habit' had been performed live.

    - The band was still stuck on the runaway at the airport as of 8:00pm, trying to clear customs. They weighed several options, which included taking a helicopter to the show. They arrived at seperate times to the show. At the Meet and Greet later on, Phoenix abruptly said to a fan that "Mike has just arrived". The only two band members that were at the LPU M&G were Phoenix and Chester.

    - Scott from Stone Temple Pilots asked during the Stone Temple Pilots set where "his friend Chester" was. He was inviting him to come on stage and sing, like Chester did in 2001 with the band, but Chester was busy doing the Meet and Greet at the time.

    - On October 7, 2008, the band posted the following statement on linkinpark.com: "Linkin Park has been forced to cancel their upcoming Music For Relief Concerts in Mainland China, Macau and Taipei as lead vocalist Chester Bennington has sustained a back injury and is under doctor's orders to refrain from traveling or any physical activities. Linkin Park sincerely regrets this unavoidable cancellation and apologizes to fans for any disappointment caused. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase.

The concerts were organized as fundraisers to benefit Sichuan, an area ravaged by a devastating earthquake this past May. However, thanks to generous donations from concert promoter Emma Ticketmaster and Linkin Park, funds will still be contributed to the band's nonprofit organization, Music for Relief, and matched by the World Bank. These funds will benefit post-earthquake reconstruction projects in the Sichuan Province initiated by Chinese Civil Society Organizations.

The cancelled shows are as follows:

Oct. 12 - Shanghai, China - Shanghai Stadium

Oct. 15 - Wuhan, China - Xinhua Stadium

Oct. 17 - Taipei, Taiwan - Taipei Soccer Stadium

Oct. 19 - Beijing, China - Beijing Workers Stadium

Oct. 21 - Macau, China Cotai Arena - The Venetian"

    - This show was made up at the same venue on August 16, 2009.

Comments: This is the first time that Chester is audible on the 'Given Up' outro. He says: "What's wrong...with me!?". Also, there was a picture of Jay-Z from the Madison Square Garden show included in this digipack. The picture did NOT appear in the MSG digipack, so it was provided on the site for users to download to their MSG folders.

    - On the intro to 'Papercut', Mike asked if anyone has been to a Linkin Park show before. When Sal and his friends raised his hands, Mike said "Don't put your fuckin' hand up dude, we know you've been here. You guys are at like half the shows out in this area."

    - Mike rapped verse two of 'Petrified' over 'Points Of Authority'.

    - On the intro of 'Bleed It Out', Mike commented, "I just saw out of the corner of my eye, a young man over here who's probably less than ten years old. And I think that's your mom next to you that looked at you and grabbed your shoulders and said 'Oh my God they're playing that song you love'...anyone that feels that way about this shit....we love you guys."

    - 'Pushing Me Away' (Piano Version) was on the setlist to start the first encore, but 'My December' (Piano Version) was played instead.

    - Motocross Superstar Travis Pastrana was in the audience. Mike and Chester shouted out to him right before 'Leave Out All The Rest'.

    - Sal was at the show too! Chester shouted out to him right before 'Wake'. On the 'Papercut' intro, Mike directs a comment towards him also when he puts his hands up.

    - 'A Place For My Head' was dropped from this setlist for an unknown reason.

    - Mike rapped verse one of 'Petrified' over the intro of 'Points Of Authority' and verse one of 'There They Go' over the outro.

    - It rained heavily the entire time the band was performing. This caused Brad to come out with a yellow poncho on.

    - Chester mixed up a few lines in the first verse of 'In Pieces'.

    - At the festival, all fans were given little devices that had blinking red lights. Mike asked all the fans to take these and their cell phones out before 'Leave Out All The Rest'.

    - Mike played a keyboard piece over the intro to 'Crawling' like he did a few shows earlier at Milton Keynes.

    - Brad only played half of the guitar part for the first verse of 'One Step Closer'.

    - Clips of 'Somewhere I Belong', 'Lying From You' and 'No More Sorrow' from this show were shown in an interview with Mike and Brad on Musique Plus TV.

    - There was no opening band at this show. This festival ran for several days and featured a different band each day.

    - Mike rapped verse two of 'Petrified' over the intro of 'Points Of Authority' and verse one of 'There They Go' over the outro.

    - Mike, on the intro to 'Papercut', said that every time he hears 'One Step Closer', it reminds him of hearing it for the first time ever on the radio in Phoenix at Chester's dad's house.

    - Mike tries to light his lighter before 'Leave Out All The Rest'. It doesn't work, so Kurt tries to bring Mike another one, but Mike instead has all the fans put theirs up.

    - The band let the crowd sing the 'In The End' bridge acapella-style.

    - 'What I've Done' was played for the first time on the tour with the album version intro from 'Shadow Of The Day'.

    - Chester joined Chris Cornell for 'Hunger Strike'.

    - There was a heavy monsoon earlier in the day, just like the previous year. Linkin Park went on stage 30 minutes late.

Comments: Lost my preamp to iRiver cable after previous show somehow. Recorded a little further back at venue for better sound; still sounds ok, just more bass than Charlotte. Incomplete - iRiver disk space error (this is a bug - I had plenty of space) on 'Somewhere I Belong' intro. Rest of show unfortunately missing. Also recorded Chris Cornells's set up until the end of 'Hunger Strike'. Chris's set sounds worse since I was kicked out of my seat during his performance and was forced to sit in the back until Linkin Park.

    - Mike rapped verse two of 'Petrified' over the intro of 'Points Of Authority' and verse one of 'There They Go' over the outro.

    - Mike rapped the first verse of 'Hands Held High' over the Reanimated intro to 'Crawling'. Chris Cornell then joined the band for the song and sang the entire second verse, the outro, and Aaron's harmonies.

    - Street Drum Corps performed on the intro to 'What I've Done', and came back out on 'One Step Closer'.

    - Brad and Mike played the outro section to 'Bleed It Out' for about a minute at the very beginning of the song, similar to what they did at one of the Las Vegas shows in March 2008.

    - Mike messed up the 'Pushing Me Away (Piano Version)' intro and had to start the song over because Chester made him laugh when he said that the only songs they were going to play for the rest of the night were '80s songs.

    - The band dropped the long 'One Step Closer' intro after 'Cure For The Itch'. 'One Step Closer' would remain like this for the remainder of the time the band played Set Y.

    - Chester joined Chris Cornell for 'Hunger Strike'.

    - Hawthorne Heights did not play at this show because they were busy filming a new music video.

    - Street Drum Corps performed on the intro to 'One Step Closer', and came back out on the bridge of 'Bleed It Out'.

    - Joe messed up 'Crawling' in a few spots.

    - The band had a few small slipups on 'In The End' - Joe missed one sample on the intro, and Chester messed up a line later on in a verse.

    - Brad missed his cue on 'Bleed It Out' to come in after the intro drum solo, so Rob extended his solo, and then Brad came walking out from under the side of the stage to do his part. Mike descended from the top, and all was well.

    - Chester joined Chris Cornell for 'Hunger Strike'.

    - Chris Cornell debuted 'Fell On Black Days' for the first time on the tour. He did it acoustically before 'Like A Stone'. It was rumored during rehearsals that Chester was going to sing the song with him on the tour, but he ended up doing 'Hunger Strike' instead.

    - Project 96.1, a local radio station, sponsored this show and called it the Project 96.1 Revolution. A DJ from the station came on stage and introduced Linkin Park before their set began.

    Bleed It Out
Ext. Bridge & Ending w/ Street Drum Corps

This was the last performance of 'We Made It' on the tour. Busta did not play a set earlier in the day, but came out only on this song during the LP set before he disappeared off of the tour.

    - On the setlist for this show, the first encore was supposed to be 'Cure For The Itch', 'What I've Done' (AMBO Intro), and 'We Made It' and the second encore was supposed to be 'Bleed It Out'. For whatever reason, 'Cure For The Itch' was not played and instead, there was just one encore of 'What I've Done' (with no intro), 'We Made It', and 'Bleed It Out'. 'Bleed It Out' did not have Rob's drum solo before the song.

    - Event staff rushed to lay down sand bags around the stage to protect wiring from flooding due to a freak thunderstorm that started during the show. Those with lawn seating were drenched.

    - Chester joined Chris Cornell for 'Hunger Strike'.

    - Busta Rhymes did not perform his set earlier that day due to having to leave the tour (his label dropped him), and only came out for 'We Made It'.
