  1. I'm seriously not hearing any connection between So Far Away/Soundtrack and Asbestos/Given Up like some people are saying though.

I suppose the opening riff in "Asbestos" sounds similar to the riff prominent in "Given Up," though it seems coincidental to me.

However there are definitely correlations between "So Far Away" and "Soundtrack." If you start listening at 00:57 in "Soundtrack," notice the synth/keyboard that plays, as well as the drum patterns. Then start playing "So Far Away" and you immediately notice the drum patterns are very similar to "Soundtrack's."

Fast forward to 1:22 in "So Far Away" and not only do you hear the same synth/keyboard from "Soundtrack," but you can definitely hear parts of "Coal" as well. Very interesting to listen to.

  2. Not sure if trying to save official announcement for LP (Denying leak)

or party pooper (no real US tour)

Well seeing as how that radio station (Hot 99.5) said the album was almost finished and coming out in 2012 when the album actually IS almost finished and coming out in 2012, logically I see this as Adam's way of saying that WAAF is correct! ;)
  3. I don't like it. This recent trend of announcing shows (not just LP, most acts) and then having the tickets go on sale shortly after isn't fun. I like to have a long notice beforehand so if I don't have money at the time I can get the money ready. :(

Same here. They're actually playing near me for once but I do NOT have the funds to buy tickets if they go on sale, like, next week.
  4. Wow, this thread started out well but it's plain to see that all the haters came out of the woodwork again.

Is it so hard for all of you to accept that none of you are part of Linkin Park? It's really that simple. If you're in the band, you have a say in what music you want to make. If you're not, then you don't have a say at all. Just try to enjoy the music they do make and stop fighting about it already.

  5. ahhh man,it's all crap lol,I don't think they've finished working on new record, last monday they were working on vocals lol,you can't expect next record before august according to me.....well,I don't want them to sound like "HYBRID THEORY","METEORA" & the rest of two,I want to sound them like "LINKIN PARK",that's it.I'm their fan, whatever they are going to make will be awesome, what else we can do except listening lol.they are awesome musicians ,& I pray for their success.....

ummmmm if someone is talking about "they're leaning towards the old sound again",I don't think so it's true,it was chester I think who said last year in a lpu chat that brad is not going to play much guitar in next record,so I don't think they will sound like old one, neither I force them to do so,being a fan, just listen to their music, stop expectations ,they will surely make f'ing awesome music....

I have to say I strongly agree with you and many others in this thread. I try not to have any expectations of LP's music, I just sit back, wait a few years, and when their new album comes out I'm sure it'll blow my brains out with its epic-ness. I expect nothing less from this band now. Labels don't suit them.
  6. You're not sounding like an asshole, rather like someone who doesn't even have knowledge about a band you bitch about. Just because the band is hated and not many talking about them anymore in the US does not mean they are bad nor irrelevant in other continents. In my opnion, Limp Bizkit did better stuff than Linkin Park in the past few years even if their promotion is so fucked up which isn't only their fault though (that's why they split from Interscope Records!). Anyone here have seen Limp Bizkit live in the past 3 years ? (Yes, this goes out to almost all non US people because they haven't been doing a real tour in the states yet!). EVERYONE, and i mean EVERYONE who saw a headline show will agree with me that they wish that Linkin Park brought this energy. Yes, I am stating that Limp Bizkit is still the band with the sickest concerts nowadays. Go on YouTube and watch live footage of songs you like (if there are any), you will always see the people going crazy and the band as well.

Lethal bitching about Chester via Twitter is not mature at all of course, I agree on that. However, I still am on the LB side, like it or not, they at least know what's up when it comes to bringing concerts with much energy.

LOL. Why would he need knowledge of the band if he couldn't give less a care about them?

You're probably in the minority of LPL members that just happens to actually enjoy Limp Bizkit's music, and that's fine, but there's not much use defending them here. Everyone has differing opinions and we just happen to think their music sucks, which is precisely why they're irrelevant nowadays, especially on a Linkin Park fan forum. Just saying. :)

  7. Nice remix, but I do kinda miss the dreaminess of the original. I actually quite like the backing vocals, they suit the vibe of the remix. I also like the glitchy beats in the middle, but the last section sounds quite cluttered.

You've hit the nail on the head. It's definitely a decent remix but it doesn't capture the dreaminess that the original song intended to evoke. But at least it's new, original.
  8. I just wish they had something worth purchasing the membership for at all. I loved the LPUX CD but other than that they didn't have anything relevant to my interests, so I never became a member. Meh.

  9. A user on LPA who attended the first part said he thinks he heard a Blackout remix. I hope to god that's true.

I'm assuming I need to register on Niconico to watch the show right ? as no video is visible when you click the link.

    Yes, you need to register.

Also, I wouldn't exactly call it a Blackout remix; the first part of the song was normal, but after the glitch breakdown it started playing the ending to a more electronic beat, which I suppose is the remix. So only part of the song was remixed.

  10. ok, the site is just failing on me...

    I hope someone's recording this :)

Or you can also reserve it by hitting the Timeshift button. :) Watch it at your leisure.

Oh, hey look, Chester's performing The Messenger live!

  11. I thought Seoul would be the same as Hong Kong. LP always does the same set a few times to start a tour. The first 2 shows are over so it's time for the new set in Tokyo. Game time for LP.

I love how we all track LP's setlists like it's football or something. Only us fans.
  12. It's been said a couple times but I'll reiterate. The fan who is going to help raise $500 dollars for Linkin Park's charity is not the fan that only knows/wants to hear Numb and One Step Closer.

So, while I don't expect anything huge tonight (nor do I expect it any night, seeing as I coined "setlist trading card syndrome" :D ), this would definitely be the right time and place to play an old/more obscure song.

Obscure songs, eh? So here's hoping for Carousel...ha.

I really do hope they debut Robot Boy, or play some good ol' Hybrid Theory songs for the crowd. They donated a lot of money so they probably deserve a little old-school LP.

Could you link his twitter? Or is it not public? My googling has failed me T.T

  13. I would love for them to play more Hybrid Theory tracks. I'm a huge fan of A Thousand Suns, but damn guys, Hybrid Theory and Meteora weren't absolute garbage. Well Meteora maybe, but Hybrid Theory is a classic.

Am I the only one who doesn't care to see Robot Boy live? I'm a huge fan of the song, but I think that it won't sound to great live unless they touch it up a little.

I think they'd be able to pull it off. If they put off playing it live for so long then it must be because they were touching it up especially for a live setting, so I doubt they'd straight up play the studio version of Robot Boy.

Also, Meteora > Hybrid Theory. ;)

  14. i for one dont want another frat party type of DVD. The only reason that dvd worked was because it was a mixture of live/tour and FUN. They are old and 'mature' now and i just dont think they can pull off the spontaneous fun and laughter they used to do.

Have you seen their recent LPTV episodes? They're as lively as ever, they're not exactly as old as the Rolling Stones or anything.
