  1. You say that, but my joke album title is going to make it to the subreddits, then to the rumor articles, and then it'll be back to this thread in time for my morning coffee.
  2. Linkin Park Presents: That's All, Folks! We Are Never, Ever, Ever Getting Back Together!
  3. We'd never even heard of "Lost" before it was out. We knew the demo, yes, but the final song is so different it almost doesn't count. We barely even recognized it because the vocal hook had completely changed and had no idea it'd gotten as far and as polished as it did. I'm just one person and I make a minimum of 55 demos a year as a hobbyist (one a week!), I can't imagine what sits on LP's drives that they just haven't told us about. Most of it terrible, but some gold that just didn't quite shine brightly enough for sure.
  4. Jeez, now I feel bad for getting people's hopes up! It's probably not gonna happen guys-- but it is pretty fun to think about.
  5. I think the user is specifically talking about in the case of a comeback. Not just a new thing recorded specifically for the release. futurama_maybe.gif
  6. They could-- I remember the last we heard about it was that Mike had in fact polished it up and done a recording but the rest of the band/maybe Mike himself too wasn't happy with it so it lingered. If they got over that hurdle, I'd imagine it'd be quite interesting.
  7. Track 14 being a surprise new single from the band recorded recently would be the biggest swerve. I'm not holding out much hope for that. But I can certainly dream. It would be a good place to re-establish something if you're not dropping an album soon. Like, "hey, we're active again, here's something we all like and are releasing as a statement of intent, see you next year". Or something.
  8. For whatever reason I always got the sense that Mike has been trying to stay "available" for whatever the past few months. Never going too far with his self promo. It's pretty easy to read into that, but he's definitely cooking something.
  9. Yeah if they decide to kick off a new era by releasing some of those tracks we heard about that were finished but didn't make the album cut (If i recall correctly) as a bridge for a new era, that would be a really good way of doing it. You can't say hello without saying goodbye. It must feel like shit having a ton of material you thought was gold as songwriters gathering dust and doing nothing. And not being able to work on it anymore. Not being able to share it and say "Here's what we made with our friend". My interest is piqued.
  10. The only way we get more official Linkin Park stems is if there is a remix competition in promotion for something. I could maybe see them doing this for M2M20.
  11. Watch in real time as we witness one of the many potential reasons why Mike may not have been comfortable writing music for himself to sing recently.
  12. When I mention promotional plans I mean letting the band announce it on their own terms. I'm not convinced this is what's happening, merely entertaining the possibility.
  13. All I'm saying is, it's a pretty good way to hide an LP reunion show if you need to mark out a slot way in advance without ruining promotional plans.
  14. I really hope not. At least not without heavy, HEAVY involvement from the band members.
  15. Listening to this and the little loops of the instrumentals in the background, just looping the same part of the track over and over, are driving me absolutely insane.
  16. Adding onto this, a year is a long fucking time. Especially for creative types. LP is a band of restless creatives. They're just taking time to figure out what the fuck to do.
  17. Tell me you weren't listening to pop music in 2003 without telling me you weren't listening to pop music in 2003 Or 2007... Or 2010... Really, the only time LP bucked the trend of what was charting at the time was The Hunting Party, and that was a concerted effort.
  18. It's not just based on Mike mentioning something, but more of a gut feeling. Him being super quiet these past few months doesn't strike me as something he'd do if it were a solo project. That makes me think the band's doing something. There was that outreach effort last year with the messages from the band. There've been all these little things that hint to the band toying around with things. My gut feeling is we'll have a song late this year. I just get the sense that things have been slowly brewing over in the LP camp. I hope I'm not wrong. If it's fucking NFT's I'll cry.
  19. Personally, since some time last year I've felt like 2023 is the year we're going to see some kind of single and maybe one or two shows to promote it. I can understand them not wanting to tour. But a small, intimate show doesn't seem too out of left field. (And doesn't count as a tour). Stuff to basically get the rust off, get people excited again, before they go back into the studio for an album or whatever.
  20. A lot can change in a year. Especially when we're talking about 2022, that shit was five years long.
  21. 1.) Unreleased ATS demo 2.) Unreleased ATS demo 3.) Unreleased LT b-side 4.) Unreleased LT b-side 5.) Unreleased MTM demo 6.) Unreleased MTM b-side 7.) Unreleased MTM demo 8.) Unreleased LT demo 9.) Unreleased ATS b-side 10.) Unreleaed ATS b-side yeah, I could have been more creative with that. :|
  22. I'll listen to the leak when it comes out. Because damn it, I preordered the album twice. I'm not gonna feel guilty. At all.
  23. Wikipedia, no citation, and this is worthy of news? I wouldn't jump the horse just yet. My fake senses are off the charts. Anyone can edit wikipedia. However, props for mentioning to take everything with grains of salt-- but this should be taken with an entire truckload of salt. I'd be shocked if they were real, judging from the source. And as for what they'd gain from it: Lulz?
