Love it, great prechorus, cool bridge, catchy chorus. Drums sound cool when it's their time to shine, same for guitars, they are louder than on some other OML songs. In my perfect little world, this song would be on OML instead of SFN which is my least favorite song, but I know most of you love it, which is good for you :) gonna give it a spin again and again

it seems like FRIENDLY FIRE a bit different (not much) than the rest of OML tracks. is it because they mix differently? but as Martinez told us, only "Numb/Encore" is new mastering.

They probably didn't have it in Hi-Res version, it's the first time the song will be available in that quality.

    I already answered on that:

understood. thanks for the clarification! i hope this new "Numb/Encore" mix is a teased for COLLISION COURSE 20th Anniversary or something. 🥹

The whole release is kinda weird and feels rushed, but I will NEVER complain I mean we are getting QWERTY on Spotify and a song that’s a holy grail and i was scared we could never hear it or we could get it in like 15 years

im sure it is. maybe this wasnt on the band list for 2024 but if the label insists, well, here we go for the hundredth time..

But it's Frank Maddocks, he usually make great artworks especially HT and Meteora. Maybe they just want something minimalist this time around.

it's a bit odd but im sure Frank Maddocks has something in his mind. He's the creative vp for WB. look at Mike Shinoda's Already Over art directions. fkin love it.

Why LP is not getting enough attention from the Grammys? What's the criteria to win? Unless, if you're Taylor Swift, easy win. but what really makes hard for LP to get a Grammy? is it the production of the album? does it based on who's the best producer out there?

i dont know much bout Grammy but they dont really like Rock, Metal music. They all planted. They just nominated those bands to make ppl watch the show. I cant recall what year but Lorde won best rock music. It’s a total joke. Eminem already f**k the Grammys because he knows how the system went

and that song won at the Grammys. so it's a big deal for LINKIN PARK.

exactly! and that's the last one for LP. 🥹

To me it's not really a big deal if THP is not featured in this singles collection or if any other songs, like heavy, given up, the catalyst, etc are not in the tracklist. It's not like these songs are suddenly unavailable. If I want to hear THP I know where it is. Also with a limit of 20 songs (18 if we don't count 1 unreleased track and 1 hidden gem that are necessary to better promote a relese like this) there was always going to be hits left out, so one way or another somebody was going to find a reason to complain.

amazing that LP has tons of greatest hits!

Machine Shop as a record label died a long time ago. Warner wasn't interested in investing in the artists being signed. It's just Linkin Park's management company now.

I still can't believe they included two versions of Numb. They could have picked any of the big platinum singles they left out or a The Hunting Party single instead of Numb/Encore.

Machine Shop should be reviving back as a proper record label for LINKIN PARK only.

for Numb/Encore, people treat the song as its own. also, the song is really huge single, it will be crazy for LP to leave the song from the GH collections.

What about Machine Shop Recordings? is that still a thing? Or the Fort Minor, Inc.?

Machine Shop Records still there as you can see in the leaked PAPERCUTS disc, releasing all LP stuff but they're just a minor company. Unlike Metallica's Blackened, they have a bigger voices. if you go through Metallica website, you can see how they managed their contents really well. seems like Metallica will never run out of contents, live music/shows. 😂

Here's the deal: LP has two main audiences. The hardcore fans, aka: lurkers of this page, and casual fans.

The boxsets were meant for us, even the success of Lost was totally unexpected.

But now isn't the time for us, is for the casual fans who haven't heard of Qwerty. Yes, there are people who in 18 years haven't had the time, the occurrence or whatever it is, to discover the song. You have the right to feel disappointed, but this isn't meant for us.

this sums up everything. 100% agree. anyway, cant wait for QWERTY on DSP!

Hardcore or casual, I am more than happy that we have finally a greatest Hits compilation from the band (like for the first time). I know Shinoda stated this few years ago that he is opposed to this idea of Greatest Hits. However, here we are, WB probably wanted this release to comply the contract? Idk. Probably the band is ready to close this chapter and ready to start the new era.

it's always the label thing. i remember when Avenged Sevenfold wanna break the contract with WBR back in 2016, suddenly the label released a compilation album features A7X greatest hits in a disc. the band doesnt want it but the label said, that's the only way. so yeah, i believe this Linkin Park greatest hits releases most likely label idea, forcing the band, especially after they see "LOST" making lots of profits last year.

I really hope LP can make their own label, just like Metallica with their BLACKENED RECORDINGS.

  10. at this point, i can surely said that WBR really hate THP so much. seems like they hold the grudge till this day. based on the cover art that leaked, i’m pretty sure the band were forced to release this Greatest Hits as soon as possible just to follow up the successful of LOST & METEORA20 last year.

Should call the album “What We’ve Done”, or something creative.

“Greatest Hits”, “The Best of”, “The Hits”, etc are a bit dull!

Eminem used “Curtain Call: The Hits”, sounds exclusive and great because when it released, people thought he’s gonna quit from rapping.

  12. I was hoping track 14 will “Behind Your Lies (QWERTY)”, not the one that Rick Rubin version. Imagine if QWERTY re-released as single, it will blown away just like LOST. Except LOST is totally new to everyone. QWERTY already well known for LP hardcore fans for years.

but why? For what reason? What does anyone gain from it?

i believe there's a point of reputation for making a lyric page in Genius. i did for few lyrics for my local indie band. but it doesnt go anyway much

Sorry but this sound like Thirty Second to Mars and this is not good thing. I mean, hearing Chester in something new is super cool, but I don't know. Waiting for the whole track, though.

Sorry but why this is not a good thing? do you expecting a track from OML session will sounds like LOST which recorded back in Meteora days?

any songs from OML session will sounded like this, pop oriented track.

You know it could be strategic, maybe not intentionally, but for new fans…like they’ll listen to “the greatest hits” and then may want to dive deeper into the catalog and find those other gems like SOTD, The Catalyst, LIO, GATS, Heavy etc etc and then want to dive more

Or listen to the Spotify playlist

    "This is Linkin Park"

this! Greatest Hits album is just a gateway to discover the gems of LINKIN PARK discography. I did the same thing for band that I know their hit songs (like 2-3 song), I will go through their "THIS IS" playlist and from there, i will go for albums and voila, that's the algorithm nowadays

Pretty odd no Shadow of the Day, if they are indeed done teasing the songs.

LP has tons of great single/promo song through out their entire career. making a cut for Greatest Hits surely gonna be massive headache. SOTD most likely one of the song that have to made a cut from this compilation. IMO, THE CATALYST should be in the CD too.

So what does the 03 mean….?

most likely the Side 03 for the Vinyl releases. 5 song for each side.

The supposedly new song being #14 on the tracklist seems so off. Right in the middle, between two randon songs. Doesn't fit even with the start/end of a vinyl side.

    Odd choice.

not really. Eminem’s Curtain Call 2, he put the brand new song in the middle of the tracklist too. it shouldnt be a chronicle order.
