Yeah like, even if THP is my least fav LP album and the least succesful by the band, leaving the album out of a GH compilation makes no sense, even more in the case of a band with relatively short discography, like LP is not Black Sabbath, make it 21 songs and put FM on it at least

maybe one day, we will have the answer of why THP completely left out from this compilation. 😭 Final Masquerade deserve to be in PAPERCUTS. I'll swapped it with LOATR

I think it was Mike who made an off handed comment about how awesome it would be to have someone like Rakim on the track, and their engineer was like “Oh, I just did a record with him. Want me to give him a call?”

oh yess!!! it was Mike. it was a great decision ever! LP with Rakim, two legends together. but now it made senses, why GATS or the rest of THP being hated by the label. Rakim's verse is one of the reason. he dissed the record label straight forward.

Not having Rebellion as the first single might be the weirdest decision of their career

Rebellion is a great track but it's not really LP-style-ish. if the song hit the radio randomly, ppl might think it's System of A Down track.

  3. GUILTY ALL THE SAME is technically "out of the box" for LP musical style. those riff, solos. dont forget about the legendary guest on the track. like, how the f**k they got RAKIM on the track, which is brand new song, not some remix shit. 😭🤘💯🎉 i remember that during the promo for the song, you've got to Shazam any LP tracks and you got a link to listen to "GUILTY ALL THE SAME".

Happy 10th Anniversary, GUILTY ALL THE SAME!

It's a shame that the fkin label hate the entire album & excluding any tracks from THP into the Greatest Hits album.

Imagine someone who is a casual fan and discovers FF and QWERTY hearing them side by side 😂😂😂 delicate bittersweet pop song about the nonsense of arguing and going mad about little things and then BEHIND YOUR LIIIIIIIIIES WHAA blows up on your face 😂

hahahah! it will blown their minds! even for hardcore fans, listening QWERTY on streaming platform surely gonna be different vibes!

hopefully, they releases "QWERTY (Official Music Video)" on the release day.

Whats wierd is the lack of promotional interviews etc. regarding Papercuts. Or are there some new articles etc.? I have been busy this week so I might be out of loop

maybe because it's a compilation/greatest hits album? not really a "new" album to them? unlike M20, it's celebrating 20th anniversary, they were really proud and hype bout it. besides, the band wasnt really into this compilation.

i believe the last jewel case CD that LP has released was OML Live. after that, it's just digipak/softpak. i love digipak but i miss a lot jewel case. 🥹

LP was big enough to negotiate contractual terms in their favor, there is no way they are hostages of the record label (and they continuously repeated that they are very happy with their relationship with Warner anyway).

as long as they still with the label, they cant do much. no matter how big you are. that's the reason why Taylor Swift f**k out her old label and recreating everything from the beginning. her fans is happy with it. so she won the battle.

"repeated that they are very happy with their relationship with Warner anyway" - you know they have to said it right.. it will be stupid for the band to against the label. 😂

let's hope one day LINKIN PARK fully owned the masters. and get off from these freaking label.

Up to 7 vinyls now. That's not a good look when the band their entire career has been so meticulous about every single merch item and thing they put out. OML had what, 3? A normal and 2 others?

Looks very cash grabby to do something like that when you have the press and fans running wild about "unreleased song featuring Chester Bennington vocals" combined with the fact the band and label are both VERY aware the LP fans collect every single item with the band's name on it. The attention to detail here the band usually has on physical releases, including HT20 and M20, is just not there for this.

You need some degree of sensitivity when something with Chester comes out, for a billion reasons.

There are good aspects of this, of course - the Friendly Fire music video is fantastic. But who was really pushing/itching to do a release here? It sure doesn't look like the band, especially coming after Mike's comments about greatest hits collections. There are some personal notes from the band in this - you have to do SOME sort of press or statement when your name is on a release. But for something that comes out with their band's name on it, the attention to detail/care for this doesn't look even remotely comparable to anything the band has ever released previously. Even RECHARGED was significantly better.

"and record companies killed me, try to force me to stray and obey" - Rakim

We all know this is all on WR. they become fkin greedy with the successful of M20. maybe they're tired of waiting for the band to move forward and release new album, so instead of waiting, "Hey let's put out Greatest Hits album and releases tons of fkin variation vinyls, fans gonna dig it!".

that's how label works. but hey, they owned them. and the label has right for everything. unlike GD, which you all know.. 🫣🤑

There's this weird situation where the song is amazing, the video is incredible but the artwork is awful lol

it's not tally at all. i'm not sure what's the direction that Frank Maddock heading but he surely know what he did was right. maybe not for us but for the company he worked for.

Of course, people will complain one way or the other, but at the end of the day it will still mostly as a "hardcore linkin park fan" discussion. I don't think the mainstream audiences would engage in that discussion for long.

hardcore fans complain but yet, still, here we are. supporting the band but for casual fans, they will notice the band if they making new song (not a new old song). As for now, 2 new old song released by LP and casual fans starts to ask if the band will making new song as in fresh start. Also there’s a negative perception that LP using AI for these releases song. They stuck at that position with the mindset that LP dont have a brand new song. So Mike should step in and making new song/album with the rest of the band! It will be instant blow!

Mike has been trying to have a hit as the main vocalist and has failed every single time. (Waiting For Tomorrow, Aoki collabs, Invisible etc etc)

those are collaboration tracks and for Invisible (or any Mike main vocal track in LP album) always been overshadowed by Chester. it's time for Mike to prove that he capable to lead the band with 100% fresh new materials with his vocal lead the song. he should try and if fails, then they know what to do next. but trust me, any materials post-CB era will blown the internet.

Doubt it. just going off the Shinoda releases, they never got close to the hype of an LP release. The rest of the members aren’t big rockstar personalities so their contributions won’t add much to the casual fans.

that's because he released those materials under the banner of "MIKE SHINODA". hell, Mike can ever releases "ALREADY OVER" as LP track if he want to but he carefully not to do that because people will still fkin complain bout it.

Love it, great prechorus, cool bridge, catchy chorus. Drums sound cool when it's their time to shine, same for guitars, they are louder than on some other OML songs. In my perfect little world, this song would be on OML instead of SFN which is my least favorite song, but I know most of you love it, which is good for you :) gonna give it a spin again and again

it seems like FRIENDLY FIRE a bit different (not much) than the rest of OML tracks. is it because they mix differently? but as Martinez told us, only "Numb/Encore" is new mastering.

They probably didn't have it in Hi-Res version, it's the first time the song will be available in that quality.

    I already answered on that:

understood. thanks for the clarification! i hope this new "Numb/Encore" mix is a teased for COLLISION COURSE 20th Anniversary or something. 🥹
