  1. Home now and had a chance to listen to it. Really not a fan, it's without a doubt the worst album they've put out.

With that said, there are some bits I like:

    - I like TTM as a whole since, as someone else on here said, it sounds like what "Linkin park does Pop" should have sounded like.

    - GG. I like the idea behind this songs, but as others have said, it could have really done without the featured artists and should have just had Mike do the rapping

    - BS. Compared to everyone else, I actually kind of like this, It reminds me of a stripped down LITE. Plus always love when ever a song utilizes those army like drum rolls.

That's really about it, everything else is just terrible. I can see me going back and listening to 2 of those songs above and the live version of GG.

I'm glad "Rammstein:Paris" leaked today to give me something else to listen to

  2. Just a note, CID entertainment who run this have terrible reviews for the events that they run...

    https://www.yelp.com/biz/cid-entertainment-philadelphia

I also emailed them and can confirm that the premium standing ticket, is the same as the standard general admission ticket, so all you are getting is a scarf and a pin for your 149 fine british pounds.

I'd usually take reviews with a grain of salt since most people only leave reviews if they feel they had a bad experience, while that could only be a small fraction of the people that used their services, especially on yelp.

As for the low tier vip, I have to imagine that includes Early entry even if it isn't advertised as the designated check-ins are usually done at the same time as higher vip tiers.

  3. I'm kind of not surprised the £549 one sold out so quickly, the signed guitar really makes up the price they are asking for almost on it's own.

EDIT: About the price of the packages... Metallica ask for 2300€ (US $2500) for the bigger VIP packs, wich is pretty much the same of the OML with a M&G+photo (they didn't gave you a guitar but for that price...).

Yup. The 2 lower tier vip for the Metallica are pretty reasonably priced, the 2.5k one is batshit insane for what is basically just a M&G on top of the 2nd tier one.

  4. I'm just gonna leave this here:

There's no real definition of what is art, so "random trash songs" could be considered art by some people. I understand Heavy is meant to be some very deep and personal song. I still don't like how it sounds and don't like the lyrics at all. It's funny how everytime someone dislikes a Linkin Park song someone defending it will mention nu-metal.

Cause if you don't like Heavy you're obviously a fan that is begging for HT 3.0

  5.

I think you're taking this entirely too personally, based off of this response and others you've made. They're clearly just fucking around here, and I'm sure they do look back at the HT/Meteora days and laugh about it. Let's face it - they've matured and grown a lot since then, and their perspective of that kind of music will definitely have changed. If they didn't acknowledge those songs as songs that made a difference to people and their careers, then yeah, they would've dropped them. They know what people want to hear, but all the same they know what THEY want to hear from themselves.

Nu-metal is outdated anyway. It might as well be laughed at, at this point. :P

I don't know. While it did seem like joking around, it still felt like there was an underlying message that they don't like their early days anymore and just want to put it behind them and forget it happened.

Maybe I am reading into it a bit much, and the upcoming weeks/months with the release and tour may change my thoughts, but I'm not optimistic for the time being.

  6. I much prefer the heavy version. My only problem with the band is how much the just seem to resent nu metal and their original sound now, You can guarantee they would have pulled a BMTH by this point and completely stopped playing stuff pre-ATS if it wasn't for stuff like ITE, Numb, etc, being as big a hits as they are. Chesters comment at the end also just felt like a "fuck you" to anyone that got into them back in the HT days.

  7. Anyway 7,6 million views on yt and 4 million streams on spotify is really good isn't it? I don't get why a lot of LP fans in Italy say the Foos and Muse are bigger than LP... I mean LP is now the 97th most played artist worldwide on Spotify and muse is like 320th and Foos are circa 200th...

Because Foos and Muse sell more albums in Italy than LP? Most of those plays on Spotify are probably from people listening to the first 2 albums, hell, 60% of the plays on LP's top 10 Spotify tracks are from the first 2 albums and Collision Course.

  8. Lol. Blackout has real guitar in the outro. Wretches and Kings has some live drums mixed with the sampled stuff, there's a live guitar part in the outro, and the bass is a real bass run through a Z.Vex Mastotron fuzz pedal. ALL of the guitar parts in Waiting for the End are live. The Catalyst has live bass and guitar from the second verse onwards. In Between has live guitar from the first chorus onwards.

Protip: Know what you're talking about.

*Edit* I'd excuse ignorance if not for the fact that save for In Between, every song you listed has multitracks available that you could easily reference to correct yourself.

My bad, been out of the LP loop for so long I didn't realise most (all?) ATS stuff had the stems available.

  9. If HT is a 9 or 10, Meteora is a 10, MTM is a 9 or 10, ATS is an 8 or 9, then LT and THP are both in the 6-7 range for me. They need to redeem themselves.

I agree with that, and with the way Heavy is sounding, it's looking like LP aren't really going to do it. I've seen other people saying it's grown on them after a few listens, but I've given it 5-6 listens now and it's just really not for me, I still really don't like it. It's made even worse cause I know I'm going to be listening to this song non-stop on the radio this summer.

  10.

The messenger and Jornada del muerto are the only ones I mentioned that don't have the whole band playing. Plus, Minutes to midnight already had songs like that anyway.

Referring to the album versions (and ignoring interludes and The Requiem), you could also include Blackout ("Guitar" parts are keyboard/sampled in & Drum Machine instead of Rob), Wretches and Kings (Drum Machine instead of Rob, Bass is sampled/keyboard instead of Dave), Waiting For The End ("Guitar" parts are keyboard/sampled in) and (sort of) The Catalyst (Aside for the outro, it's all drum machine and keyboard). At this point, Brad and Dave could literally just become Live members.

As for MTM, only one I can think of that you could be referring to is In Between, which, let's be honest, was the worst song on the album.

  11.

A thousand suns had a lot of awesome playing. Burning in the skies has one of the most awesome guitar work of their whole career, The catalyst, Robot boy and Jornada all have crazy keyboard solos, The messenger is all about real playing and singing, When they come for me has half the band playing drums for it to work live... I could keep going if I wanted

Pretty sure he's referring to songs where the whole band plays instead of just parts of it.

  12. I'm so used to read similar comments everytime a lead single comes out. I have been around since the HT days and everytime a lead single came out haters always appeared so it doesn't bother me if you guys are totally disrepectful to the band.

I rarely comment threads right now it's super interesting to read all of you guys, the division is insane.

Some of you are overreacting, be fair with the band it was pretty obvious that they wanted to go back to the mainstream and this is just one song of the new album, not every lead single sounds like the rest of the album.

Remember when they released LT and said they said it was the best song ever so the rest of the album should have a similar vibe to it in order to appear in the album, that was a fucking lie.

It's fine to hate, love the song but I invite you to wait until the real thing is out then you can judge what the band did.

You know, aside for the part where Mike said this song was a good representation of the album and this wasn't a case of 1 single sounding different from the rest.

Personally, this song is awful. I absolutely hate it. I understand band evolve over time, but if 20 years of evolution for LP has lead up to them making a generic modern pop song/album, I consider it all for naught. It's made even more of a slap in the face after the bands comments during the THP cycle.

  13. Ignoring the last few posts about the Ryu situation, I've had a few listens to the track, and holy hell is it generic. If I wasn't told before hand that it was Mike rapping, I'd never of thought it was Fort Minor.

For the video, while the 360 effect is impressive, I just see it as wasted potential. Aside for the scene during the solo with Mike playing all the instruments, everything that you really need to look at is in one direction. I would have preferred if there was actually something going on in the other directions.

  14. ^Travelling is not the problem, I don't mind travelling, hell, I've been going to Download for the past 5 years. The point of a tour is that the band comes to you, not the other way around.

  15. I think the band was on top form during LIT, the audience on the other hand I felt was lacking, like they were there for Metallica mainly and not so much LP so they didn't really get into it.

Also hate the mixing on LIT, it completely mutes anything other than the bands instruments during the performance and you can't really hear the crowd, it's this reason I like Rammstein's Volkerball, you can hear the crowd throughout the whole concert (admittedly it's a bit quieter during the songs, but not by that nuch), chanting along to song, singing along, etc.

  16.

There are countries in South America that get ONE chance for each touring cycle.

Spain says "hi". The last Full LP show in Spain was 2003. 2008 if you count festivals.
