  1. Well Rob's drumming is part of LP sound, isn't it? We've seen that with Friendly Fire live drums addition. He has specific feel and groove which fits into the music, does not overcomplicate things, but is precise and consistent, which is a really important feature considering their music catalogue

I love this band and this song.

    Never this one.

Spiritbox are my favourite “new” band. Been a fan since the first EP, their career is so great, loved them in iwabo, but Spiritbox is miles ahead of anything they made in iwabo. Mike is a beast on guitar and you gotta love Courtneys vocals.

With the exception of The Nothing, Korn has released b-sides for every album going back to SYOTOS. They release b-sides all the time!

Ok, SYOTOS had soooo many Bsides, but lately its mostly a song from japanese edition

    Add

Xx. Head Like a Hole Korn ft Chester

Actually that's my biggest holy grail, the song is done. I don't really understand what happened w Korn Kovers.

that's classic Korn, they start a project and they never finish it as it wasnt their top priority. they prioritize own music and touring, which is awesome. I love Korn, they are still sooo good live. However, Korn Kovers was planned sometime when Head left the band and they were basically searching what to do and how to continue. They worked some songs out, but I guess they lost interest in the project as it was not as satisfying as they hoped. I think we'll never hear that cover, even though I'd love to hear it. They rarely ever release b-sides or even demos

I think it's pretty telling, based on Mike's comments that he didn't really want to do a greatest hits and this, that the band isn't in love with this release. I'm sure releasing Friendly Fire was cool for them but they haven't ever seemed like the band to want to do a greatest hits release. They are always looking forward, not backward.

True, true. Hopefully we’ll get some info regarding looking or even moving forward.

maybe because it's a compilation/greatest hits album? not really a "new" album to them? unlike M20, it's celebrating 20th anniversary, they were really proud and hype bout it. besides, the band wasnt really into this compilation.

yeah, it might be. Id expect a little bit more regarding FF or even QWERTY.

  8. They probably changed the mix and did maybe some programming or added layers. I thought the mix was different than rest of OML as I said somewhere earlier in the thread, this confirms it basically. but nice thing is, that they got together to work on it some more. I dont think that those changes they made were major, but just minor tweaks

  9. Here's a quote from Brad about Friendly Fire from https://consequence.net/2024/02/linkin-park-greatest-hits-album-friendly-fire-stream/

Speaking about the track, guitarist Brad Delson said, “Friendly Fire’ was always one of our favorite songs from the One More Light sessions. Something about it wasn’t quite right so as close as it got to the finish line, we chose to set it aside for later. When we started looking for an unreleased track to include on our greatest hits collection, I was blown away by the power of the song, the power of the storytelling, the power of the vocal, the sonic landscape and I actually thought that it was closer than maybe we had realized at the time.”

Delson continued, “We got together to work on it and connect some of the missing pieces that for whatever reason hadn’t revealed themselves during the recording of One More Light. I can’t wait for people to hear it. It’s such a beautiful, compelling, heartbreaking, hopeful story and it really resonates with me today.”

it seems like FRIENDLY FIRE a bit different (not much) than the rest of OML tracks. is it because they mix differently? but as Martinez told us, only "Numb/Encore" is new mastering.

yeah, it has the vibe like OML, but it is mixed a differently in my opinion. yeah, N/E is new mastering, as well as ND, but I think he mentioned that FF wasnt mastered before. they either mixed it differently back then or it is a new tweaked mix.

and dude, the last post-chorus part is epic.

  11. Love it, great prechorus, cool bridge, catchy chorus. Drums sound cool when it's their time to shine, same for guitars, they are louder than on some other OML songs. In my perfect little world, this song would be on OML instead of SFN which is my least favorite song, but I know most of you love it, which is good for you :) gonna give it a spin again and again
