  1. I disagree that A Thousand Suns or even Living Things were “trendy.” The Catalyst as a lead single was an extremely bold choice. I suppose you could label it as “electronica-infused rock,” but what other electronica-infused rock was dominating the charts in 2010 anyway? You look at the top 100 songs of 2010 and you don’t really see anything resembling ATS. That was like the time of Lady Gaga, Kesha, Black Eyed Peas, and David Guetta—like that real hyper-pop stuff. Maybe WTFE and Iridescent kind of fits? I think that’s a stretch though.

I think you could have a stronger case for LT resembling what else was popular in 2012, but it just as easily is often considered LP simply allowing themselves to return to form a bit and blend the styles of the previous 4 albums. Also nothing on LT resembles dubstep. Recharged—most definitely. The single with Aoki was definitely “trendy.” But then they jump right into THP and the Mall soundtrack. So that’s basically a 5 year run of not really trend-chasing, with a couple exceptions.

  2. My holy grail is still when Snoop joined them for “Step Up/Nobody’s Listening/It’s Goin Down/Gin & Juice” from Greenwood Village, Colorado 8/30/2004! ….

WAITAMINUTE it’s not there anymore! Did the M20 DVDs prove that didn’t happen?

I was a little bummed that it wasn't an LP song but it's cool to have our first live rendition of iMH. The instrumental also sounds more interesting to me when you can hear the organic sounds of the guitar more clearly

Also wow, this came out so soon after the last one. I wonder if there's another song on the way or if we're closing out this little era soon, we've gotten quite a lot of content. Maybe I could see an official AO music video since the existing one feels a bit more like a visualizer, or an MV for part 2 or FM mix? One final EP with all the sessions including the LP songs? Maybe a remix contest? Otherwise I feel like they've pulled out nearly all the stops here

No way we still got Crimson Chapter Part 2 “Over, Already??” with 6 new remixes and 12 more Sessions to come!!

i like how the girl spoke German

  4. Wow that’s an epic first show! I remember when i first watched it on the Australian THP DVD. That was the first time i ever saw a live version of Lost in the Echo and it blew me away. And obviously I  would have lost my mind at that Sabotage bridge of Bleed It Out. One of of my favorite performances of all time. That’s so awesome you were there!

  5. I decided to make a 10-piece setlist for my dream concert (because more than 10 would be too much work). I scoured the internet and my physical catalogue to find the best (my opinion) renditions of those performances. Once i found the highest possible quality versions of those renditions that exist at this point, i put them all on one continuous track to help with the mixing/fading. The result is a 48-minute masterpiece. I may go back, make a few mixing tweaks, and cut it back up into 10 separate tracks for convenience, but this is the raw result. Have a Nu Metal Nu Year!

    1. New Divide (Moscow Intro, 2011)
    2. Guilty All The Same (The Wiltern, L.A., 2014)
    3. Step Up/Nobody's Listening/It's Goin' Down (The Roxy, WeHo, 2004)
    4. Numb (The Wiltern, L.A., 2014)
    5. Waiting for the End (Remember the Name Intro, Belgium, 2017)
    6. Castle of Glass (Experience Version, Belgium, 2017)
    7. Sharp Edges (Berlin, 2017)
    8. My December (San Diego, 2002)
    9. Crawling (KRWlNG/Hands Held High Intro, Greece, 2009)
    10. Bleed It Out (Sabotage Bridge, Monterrey, Mexico, 2012)

FIRST EDIT: In the original file i posted, I had unnecessarily amplified the whole thing, and upon listening back a few times, the way parts of Sharp Edges and Crawling sounded bothered me. So I deleted that version, and just uploaded in the un-amplified version, which sounds much better to me. I also added an image to the MP3 that includes the track list.

FINAL EDIT: I perfected the song order just by switching Numb and WFTE. I also vastly improved the mixing. The only way it gets better is if someone gets SBDs for the Belgium show.

  6. Have any of you heard of Machiobase?

They claim to be selling CDs of SBDs of not one but two coveted 2017 shows. I’m suspicious because the Pro-Shots of those are already on YouTube and they could just be audio rips of those or something:

There hasn’t been any SBD releases since 2012 right?

Nah, was just joking but I would have put some of the hardest songs at the end. I'm not a big fan of OML, although I get the selection of songs and makes sense, for me takes out the best points of that tour (which I loved, btw)

totally agree. I think Faint was the hardest one to cut because of how much they still jammed on it. LITE is actually one of my all-time favorite songs they do live, but more the version they did back in the early 2010s. The OML tour version skipped that dope Holding Company intro, the 1st chorus, and the 2nd verse so it was almost like a tease

Dude! What's wrong with a 27 song setlist? Plus you even cut my favorites from the setlist. You have a new enemy 🤣

I’m genuinely not even mad at this response. The ones i cut are genuinely some of faves too. Maybe i went too hard on trying to make it “realistic” in terms of it being a tour for the OML album with time shared with 3 other long acts, and in trying to keep it to just 3 tracks each from the 1st 3 albums, and 2 or less each from the others. Ain’t nothing “realistic” about My December anyway. Phoenix probably sold his cello for some golf clubs like 20 years ago 😭

So i was actually supposed to go to the original 2017 Bowl show for my birthday and i’ve been thinking a lot about what my dream set would have been for it. I really love the 3 Pro-Shots available of all the OML Europe Tour and what made it onto the OML Live album because they’re so complete and balanced in terms of new songs and hits from the catalogue, so i used the Belgium and England (extended) setlists as bases.

From there i just wanted to add one thing new based on new stuff they hadn’t yet done, old stuff i’ve always wanted to see, and ways to best involve the other acts (which looked very likely to have been Snoop Dogg, Machine Gun Kelly, and One Ok Rock). Finally, i then had to do the hard part of cutting it down to the 21-24 song range because with that many acts, they probably would not have been able to do more than that.

I ended up cutting Lost in the Echo, Battle Symphony, From the Inside, Breaking the Habit, Faint, AND Papercut from the extended England setlist (which already had 27 songs!), and it all felt extremely sacrilegious, but i was still able to include 7 from OML (which seemed to be the magic number for their Europe setlists), 3 from HT, 3 from Meteora, 3 from MTM, 2 from ATS, 2 from LT, 1 from THP, and 2 non-album tracks. The stuff that i added is in bold:

    1. Roads Untraveled (with "Fallout") / Talking to Myself
    2. Burn it Down
    3. The Catalyst (Shortened; No Third Chorus/Breakdown)
    4. Wastelands (w/ 'War' Outro Sample)
    5. One Step Closer (2017 Intro; Ext. Outro)
    6. Castle of Glass (Experience Version; 2017 Ending w/ 'Petrified' v1)
    7. Good Goodbye (Ext. Sing-a-long Intro; Live Version)
    8. Step Up/Nobody's Listening/It's Goin' Down (w/ Snoop Dogg; Hip-Hop Medley; w/ ‘Gin & Juice’ Mashup)
    9. Sorry For Now
    10. New Divide
    11. Invisible (Ext. Intro)
    12. Waiting for the End ('Remember The Name' Intro; Wall of Noise Outro)
    13. My December (Acoustic Version #3 w/ Phoenix playing cello)
    14. One More Light (Ext. Intro)
    15. Crawling (Piano Version; Shortened; No First Chorus or Outro)
    16. Leave Out All the Rest (2017 Version)
    17. Somewhere I Belong (w/ Taka from One Ok Rock)
    18. What I’ve Done (2017 Intro; Ext. Guitar Solo Bridge)
    19. In The End (Pause Version)
    20. Sharp Edges (Stripped Down; Brad, Chester, & Rob; Ext. Intro)
    21. Numb ('Numb/Encore' Intro/Outro)
    22. Heavy (Ext. Intro)
    23. Bleed it Out (w/ Machine Gun Kelly; Direct Intro; Ext. Bridge w/ ‘What I Do’; Ext. Ending)

The Hip Hop Medley not only gives us the Holy Grail of the Gin & Juice/It’s Goin Down mashup, but also brings back a touch more turntablism, which was one small thing i wanted more of. I’m sure i would have loved whatever they would have come up with but we doing our dream setlists here and this is the best i got!

So he finally found the cure for the itch after the release of Living Things

    11 years without itch.

    😂😂😂🙌🙌🙌🤝

I’m adding “Izzo/In the End” to the list, but not the rest of Collision Course. It’s the only audible scratching on the EP that’s completely new and unique to the mashup, and doesn’t come from either of the other songs:

    1. Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Lying From You - the scratching in the bridge is just from Lying From You

    2. Big Pimpin’/Papercut - the scratching throughout is just from Big Pimpin’

    3. Jigga What/Faint - no audible scratches

    4. Numb/Encore - no audible scratches (in this case scratches from the original Numb weren’t included in new production)

    5. Izzo/In the End - NEW, unique audible scratches in the outro! 🔥

    6. PoA/99 Problems/OST - prominent scratching throughout but it was just from original PoA and OST

omg, this thing is huge already, sorry

Bruh PLEASE don't apologize! That post was amazing! I can't wait for Symphonies of Light now. I'm almost through LPU 15 myself. Yes the ones you listed for sure have scratches. I'm so grateful you took the time to make the more comprehensive list because I was originally just interested in songs made 2006 and beyond for reasons similar to what you're talking about, and ignored the HT/Meteora Demos on the later LPU disks. The band "grew out" of using turntable scratches on studio tracks, so whenever it happened after Meteora era, it was more of a treat. (I also totally agree about QWERTY)

The mix in the proshot of Rock Werchter was awful. The sound was so muddy and badly balanced in general. I avoid watching this proshot because of this, unfortunately.

I agree the mixing could have been better. For me, the performance itself was so good the mixing isn’t a distraction. I feel like all 6 of them were pretty much nailing everything. Like maybe one awkward LITE/GGB transition or something. But Chester killed the vocals better than the other 2 shows, and i also prefer the APFMH verse on the COG remix over It’s Goin Down lol

2017 would be definitely Southside Festival. One of the best LP live shows I have watched. I come back to it from time to time. Great energy, the band was on form in general.

Actually the live mix was way better. I remember it being as energetic as previous cycles. The audio for the stream was good for it being from OML cycle, but still OML live mixing.

Amazing show, even some songs that generally sounded “eeeeh” on that tour were good at Southside ‘17.

My favorite 2017 was actually Rock Werchter. It used to play clean on YouTube but something happened to it so now it glitches. I’m lucky I bought a DVD off one of those concert DVD websites. I think it’s the best vocal performance from Chester out of the 3 full OML pro-shot shows.

Also Madrid has to be the best from 2010 right?
