  1. this

funny, b/c it still feels surreal to me. venue was surreal. location and trip were surreal. concert was surreal.

i felt like i was in some weird cloud the entire time i was there and feel that way when i look back on it

Yeah, me too... it still doesn't feel real, even though I know I was there. It just feels like a dream.

I wish I could thank them for doing that show. It was so important to me, to all of the fans, I think... and I assume that it was also important for the band, because now they know that they can do it without Chester... even if it's not the same and it hurts as ****

  2. Linkin Park could techncially still do the OML Tour. They could just play OML in full plus some other shit. Mike could handle all of OML easily, there really isn't anything he couldn't handle on it, IMO. Fuck it, bring Jon Green for the tour too, he can sing some of OML even. Maybe it would help them heal a little bit to give the album a final closure. I know fans would like it.

That's what I said to a friend just a few hours ago.

They definitely COULD do it. They could do a decent setlist with Mike singing and maybe some cool "tricks" like at the hollywood bowl (Chester on the screen for example)

The fans would LOVE this. But are they ready to do it? It seemed like it last friday...but who knows?

I wish they would do that :(

  3.

You're right. I meant it as more of, this is his first time doing it alone, but you nailed it when you said he's been co-leading the band forever.

Yep, if AIC, Queen, STP, AC/DC can do it... LP can definitely do it. They're one of the very best bands of our generation to me. Whatever it takes - pop, more reliance on hip hop, etc... any of it.

You've got a point. All of what you've said is true.

But.... what do you guys think? IF they continue.... how would they start?

Do you think they would end the OML era with a tour? (I suppose they originally wanted to continue touring in 2018) And then go back to the studio?

If they do it that way, I think there's a chance we will see them in 2018. I don't mean to rush them... but I think it'd be good for the band and the Fans.

  4. This! If they continue as a 5-piece they almost have no choice but drop most of the heavy stuff. I woudn't mind though, my only wish is to see the band continue, and no matter what will happen, their style certainly has to adapt now that Chester is no longer with us.

Thank you. I agree with you.

I would rather not hear the heavy stuff live than not hearing them live at all anymore.

And I think they'd find a way to create a good setlist. I trust them.

  5. I think you made a lot more out of it than what we were trying to say!

He kind of made a u-turn when he saw the fans, even though the Van was so close. Nobody expected anything from him, but if you saw it, you would probably think the same.

No one said something about a M&G or anything. He could've just waved, say hi and get in the car. Boom. But he literally stormed off.

Nobody is blaming him or is putting this in a negative direction... it's just waaay different to how the others handled it and I don't think that was about Brad being shy.

It just didn't have that feeling, you know? I may be wrong, but who knows...

Maybe I just should've kept quiet about this but I just wanted to share my feelings about that night.

  6. It's definitely understandable! And maybe it doesn't mean anything... or maybe it means a lot. I don't know. It just gave me a certain feeling that some members might be more ready to face the everyday life of a band than others. :)

Yeah they probably will look back on that if they decide to keep going!

  7. Before the show I was fairly certain the band would continue in some form, but after the show I do not have that feeling. I feel like the comments Mike made during the show were not that positive. It was as if he wanted to continue, but not all band member were ready... Maybe I'm wrong, but that's the vibe I got.

Yeah, that's kinda how I'm feeling too.

I think it's veeery hard for Brad and maybe Rob too. I mean... just think about the fact that Dave, Joe and Mike interacted with fans after the show and Dave and Mike even went to the afterparty (I didn't see Joe, so I don't know if he was there) but when Brad saw a couple of fans at the back entrance, he left right away and went back inside.

I'm not angry at him or anything, that just made me feel like he wasn't ready to "move on" and go "back on tour", you know what I mean?

I gotta say I'm pretty scared about Linkin Park's future. I didn't really get the chance to see them live before, so my first time was at the Hollywood Bowl and it was so amazing that I definitely want to see them again and again. Of course I missed Chester and there were moments where I had tears in my eyes and was kinda angry that he couldn't be there in person (I'm sure he was there in spirit, though)... but Mike and the others did great.

Especially Mike. It was sooo brave of him to do a lot of singing and in my opinion he did absolutely great! He may not hit all the notes, but he has the emotion to carry these songs and let's be honest here... who minds a few wrong notes at a rock concert when you're screaming/singing along? I definitely don't.

They tried every option possible for future live shows and that gives me a little hope. They invited guest singers, they let the fans sing, they played a clip of Chesters voice, Mike sang.... so now they can decide how they want to do it, or maybe they're going to mix it up all the time now :) Well... if they decide to continue.

I really hope they do and I think at least Mike wants to. It was the way he said it's helping him to make music, that makes me feel he doesn't want to quit Linkin Park. We all know it won't be the same, but that's okay. I would be fine with whatever they do (except break up ;)) but I'm not sure about the rest... even if the Japan cancellation sounded a lot like they really want to find a way.

"We sincerely wished to play, even in the wake of Chester's passing. We are working each day to grieve, heal, and work towards stepping on stage together without our dear friend."

Does this really sound like a band who doesn't know if they want to continue or not? It just sounds like they didn't know HOW yet... but I hope last friday cleared that up.

Ahhh I just don't know. And not knowing is driving me crazy. I know they need time. I want to give them all the time they need...

    But I need them.

And I hope they need us as much as we need them. I hope they need Linkin Park as much as we need Linkin Park :D

  8. Thanks for putting this into words!

My friend and I came from Germany and we met so many Fans on the streets, we had a lot of great conversations and it felt so awesome to be in one place with countless Fans for this.

I'm still speechless about this whole trip and I don't think I'll ever be able to describe how I'm feeling, but you did great :D

  9. That's actually a good point. They know that they need us as much as we need them to continue performing. And if they mix their future concerts up like you mentioned, nobody will be mad. I don't think that even one dude would go there after a concert and would complain about certain things.

And as I mentioned earlier, Mike tried a bit of screamsinging here and there. He tried Rebellion, Papercut and some of the In The End Chorus and it wasn't bad. And the first 4 songs until Numb really showed us how a future LP could look like.

    Absolutely!

Mike did great and I'm really proud of him for stepping up and trying to sing some more. Also... the other guys really don't have bad singing voices at all, they're a great back up for him!

I just hope they'll continue as a band. I mean... Mike even said that making music is helping him and I really hope that the concert helped them realize that they still need concerts and the fans. I really don't want to lose them as a band :(

And yeah, those lights were amazing!

It was also a perfect location... Hollywood Bowl is beautiful!

  10.

    • Saddest moment of the show? It was not OML or the new song. It was not Numb or In The End. It was New Divide. The band played the music live and on the screens around the venue it was Chester signing (in line with the live music) from a previous show at the hollywood bowl. Everyone would look at the screen and see chester singing and jumping around but you would look at the stage and he wasnt there.

True... but at the same time it did feel like he was there. It was such a weird feeling.

A thing I've noticed is that the band tried out a bunch of different things on stage... They did songs with guests, let the fans sing, showed Chester on a screen with his voice in the background, Mike sang a few songs... And everything was working out. So I guess they still could do concerts with all the old songs if they mix it up a bit like this. I think they got a great feedback from the fans at the venue and at home and I hope it motivates them to keep going.

I think they needed this concert as much as we did.

  11. I stil can't believe that I was actually there and saw all of it with my own eyes.

I loved it. Every second of it. We cried, we laughed, we sang, we celebrated Chester and supported the band as hard as we could :D

What an amazing night. Loved every performance, especially Oli's, even if I didn't like him before but he did great!

And Mike was so brave doing all the singing... the others as well. Just amazing.

  12. I just can't see Oli Sykes as a new lead singer...

And I don't really think that they'd pick someone famous, idk why. I think if they really decide to get a new singer they'll pick someone unknown, in my opinion that'd be the best thing they could do. Because if they go for someone that is popular everyone will be biased and that'd suck.

On the other hand.. If you guys are right and they would really pick someone who's performing with them in Cotober... I'd be super happy if they'd go with Machine Gun Kelly, because I like him, but I don't think he could pull it off with his voice.

  13. How long will the show be? What do you think? A normal two hours or more like three hours?

I mean... we still don't know if all these announced acts are gonna be like a "support act" before LP hit the stage or if they'll all perform with the guys... or maybe it's like 50/50?

    I'm ecxiteeeeeeed

  14. I wonder, if we could come up with a list of locations attendees will represent. Maybe we can even decorate a venue with flags... Band historically used to put flags on stage to demonstrate their dedication to the fans, maybe this is the time when we demonstrate ours that way? Looking at the photos from the venue, seems like it is going to be possible.

Yeah that would be awesome! Love that idea :)

  15. Thank you so much!

Ticketmaster just told me they only ship to the US and Canada. Well... looks like everyone else won't be able to attend the show. I'm devastated...

EDIT: False alarm. There's something called the "will call" for international people. That means the tickets will be send to the venue and we can pick them up there. I guess...

  16. I agree with you guys. That's the last thing they should do...

I think Mike is gonna be the "new" frontman, since he's always been the frontman with Chester... If they're gonna do some new songs then they definitely gonna sound different, but I'm sure they won't sound bad.

I'm just wondering about the live performances... I don't think they'll never play the old songs, because... what would they play instead? I just don't know...
