"Out of Reach" is probably the demo for "Battle Symphony"

Possibly, but we always thought it could be a different song considering that, for One More Light, they wrote lyrics before the music and "Out Of Reach" was also on the board with "Battle Symphony"!

  2. Everyone, it's happening!

Mike Shinoda is starting to tease his new era, and a lot of things are going on, let's recap this!

A few days ago, he posted a bunch of random photos, including a pic of his hair and a weird image, that was later shared by Frank Maddocks, who also left a "🤔" emoji under Mike's post.

He later launched his Broadcast Channel on Instagram, that you can join by clicking here!

    First message was:

    "Let it begin...

    Welcome and stay tuned.

    -m"

Followed by "soon" and this clip, in which he shaves his head, and a new MS logo is revealed, along with a guitar sound:

And guess what? He already teased this same song back in July, on an Instagram Story!

Today, we also got this new pic, with the caption "New era"...

In addition, on September 5th, Mike will be speaking at BIGSOUND, a music conference in Brisbane, Australia.
For the occasion, on September 7th, LPU members will have the chance to attend an intimate fan Q+A in Sydney (submissions are now closed!).
Sounds like we could discover more at this event 👀

A new Mike Shinoda era is upon us.

    Stay tuned for updates!

  3. Mike Shinoda is featured on a new episode of GeniusVerified series, talking about the concept and production of "In My Head".

"Mike Shinoda stopped by GENIUS to discuss his introspective new song "In My Head." The Linkin Park star produced this self-reflective track, which deals with the voices that echo in our minds. This thoughtful and infectious fan favorite cut appears on the official Scream VI soundtrack and it features the vocalist Kailee Morgue. On this episode of VERIFIED, Shinoda explains how iconic rappers like JAY-Z and Snoop Dogg inspired some of the songwriting techniques that make up the track."

  4. "In My Head", a new solo song by Mike Shinoda featuring Kailee Morgue from the Scream VI soundtrack is out now!

LPU members got the chance to watch an exclusive screening of the movie in Los Angeles, on March 9th, with both Mike and Kailee attending.

Below, here's a list of the new interviews by Mike, talking about the new single, 20 years of Meteora, "Lost", horror movies, and more!

February 10, 2023 - Mike via KROQ with Nicole Alvarez
"I'll say this way. Normally, I'm really trying to just manage expectations a little bit, especially lately in the last few years. It's like, there are certain things that are going to be on the table, certain things that are off the table. With this release, shockingly, I was like, 'I don't think there's very much to say it's off the table. Touring is the only thing, we're not touring right now. But the rest of their immagination, where I know their heads are gonna go, it's like, 'Oh, is there this? Is there that? Can we do this? Can we do that?'... I think to a lot of that it's a yes."

"There's just more music. So, I've got stuff I've produced that are other people's songs, got my own song, and we got the Linkin Park stuff. And that's not even everything that we're gonna be doing around this for Linkin Park fans. So, this is a great time to be a Linkin Park fan."

    First update in 2023!

I saw that on twitter recently as well, but I haven't found any credits for that song yet, so I am wondering where that information is coming from. I probably just looked at the wrong places so I would appreciate some pointers.

The title is registered on ASCAP's Repertory, while the rumor about Demi Lovato having a song in the movie spread at least two days ago on Twitter, where a close friend of hers quoted a tweet (later deleted) about it, so it seems pretty legit!

  7. After some teases and hints that we talked you about on this previous thread, Mike Shinoda officially confirmed he has 2 songs in the movie Scream VI, set to be released in the United States on March 10, 2023.

One song is called "In My Head" and features singer Kailee Morgue.
The second one is rumored to be a song by Demi Lovato, called "Still Alive", with Mike credited as writer and producer.

Here's what he said about it, in a KROQ interview with Nicole Alvarez:
"Up until this year, I've been doing a lot of writing and producing for other people. And I recently kind of got the bug to do it for myself again. I do have a new song that's gonna be in the movie Scream. So, what happened is they had reached out about like, 'Will you help us with the music for the movie?' And in the conversation it was like, 'Oh yeah', and I played them something and they were like, 'Oh my God, can we use that? Can it go in the movie?' I didn’t plan it. I would never have been like, 'Oh, we're gonna put out this big Linkin Park thing and then I wanna put my song out right on top of it!' That’s not a good planning for me, it's great planning for Linkin Park fans, because there's just more music. So, I've got stuff I've produced that are other people's songs, got my own song, and we got the Linkin Park stuff. And that's not even everything that we're gonna be doing around this for Linkin Park fans. So, this is a great time to be a Linkin Park fan."

He also mentioned working with PVRIS and gave more details about "In My Head" on ALT 98.7 Afternoons With Booker & Stryker:
"The thing that I have been the most involved in, I've been producing stuff for other people, writing, producing for other people. And so, I have some songs coming out, we just put out a song by Justus Bennets, which I love, I have something in the way with PVRIS... P-V-R Paris, yeah, not the blonde one, but the brunette one. Her name is Lynn, she's awesome. And then, most importantly, I think this is a world premiere, I think I haven't really talked about this, so this is cool, this is kind of cool. I have two songs in the new Scream movie. Truth be told, if you would have asked me when I wanted to put them out it wouldn't have been right next to Meteora, but that's when the movie comes out. So, that's gonna be a huge month for Linkin Park fans, like that's a brand new song, yeah, it's my track. Kailee Morgue is singing on the track, she's incredible. The reason I chose her is because she's like a massive Scream fan and she's got a good voice too, so I was like, 'She's a perfect fit for this thing.' So yeah, I feel like that's the start of our year, we'll see what happens after that, but there's a lot in store for Linkin Park fans."

  8. The New York Times published an article about Meteora's 20th anniversary and "Lost," featuring Mike and Brad.
    Here are some highlights!

    • Mike about Chester

"He could take that thing he was singing, and just sledgehammer it through somebody's heart."
"I've grown to appreciate what we had even more, because it's hard to get that. I work with people where I go, 'Oh, can you sing it this way?' And they just can't."

    • Brad called "Lost" a "surprise gift" from Chester:
"The performance is so beautiful, delicate and clear."
"I've heard a lot of great Chester vocals, and this is among the best."

    • "Fighting Myself" and "More The Victim"
Mike finished mixing "Fighting Myself" last year, with a light touch to preserve its period authenticity:
"I really wanted to keep it true to the initial intention, because I didn't want to taint this time warp."
"What I love about the three new songs is that all of them represent a different facet of the band, as it was in 2003."

He called it "a definitive Linkin Park track."

"More The Victim" will be released in a version that's "basically the furthest we got with it, in terms of a demo."

People, don't know if this was already debated, but when you click the album on the desk, it links to a wathever site to guess a secret word or password.

    The correct answer is "shelf"...

Probably the name of an upcoming demo, maybe this will link us to the song in the next couple days, maybe... 🤔

Yes, that actually was the first step of the game, but it's over now!

The song is called "Lost" and it will be out this Friday!

  10. NEW LINKIN PARK MUSIC

It's happening, we finally have a title and a release date: "Lost" will be released this Friday, February 10, 2023.
    Pre-save it now: lprk.co/lostpresave

"A new, never-before-heard song from the Meteora archives, "Lost" was teased in LPTV (Summer Sanitarium 03) and LPUTV videos over the years, being known by the fans as "Thoughts That Take Away My Pride", due to the lyrics Chester sings in a short clip from The Making Of Meteora.

It's unclear if that part made to the final version of the song, but we're finally getting one of the biggest "holy grail" of Linkin Park's career!

This is just the beginning, we're in for a treat of a big celebration for 20 years of Meteora, stay tuned for more!

In the meantime, you can hear a preview of "Lost" here:

  11. Mike Shinoda has recently teased new projects for himself and for/with other artists, saying that "I feel like 2023 is going to be an exciting year" and "Not a new album, but there will be things that are...of interest to you."

When asked about Meteora's 20-year anniversary, he commented "that's certainly one reason", hinting that there will be more stuff to look up for this year.

When someone pointed out why Linkin Park needed a separate Discord server other than the one for Mike, he said that "There'll be reasons for having two", clarifying that: "just to set the hype parameters, there's no tour announcement."

No tour announcement, but he hasn't rule out anything else, what that could be? 👀

    But there's more!

The BMI catalog reveals a new entry for him, a song called "In My Head", with producer Jake Torrey, who has worked with Blink-182, Kiiara, John Legend, One Republic, Maroon 5, Justin Bieber, and many more.

The alternative title is "In My Head feat. Kailee Morgue", with Kailee being an American singer-songwriter who released her debut album "Girl Next Door" in 2022.
Since no performer is actually listed, it's unclear if Mike will have vocals or just writing/production credits.

Mike also shared in the Linkin Park Discord:
"I can't wait until you realize why I'm so busy
Maybe I can do a hint
    thinking
    ok my hint
    my hint is: borowoods
    Oh, second hint!
2nd hit: This is a side quest!"

This made people speculating it could be something about the Scream franchise, since "Woodsboro" is where a few movies take place, but nothing is confirmed yet.

While we wait for the upcoming announcement of the celebration for 20 years of Meteora, it really seems like we'll have lots of interesting stuff this year, stay tuned for updates!

May 7 is the release date for the whole EP. The release date for the track Mixed Signals is unknow, can't find it. The track was likely become available when the whole pre-order appeared in the stores. At least since yesterday when i find out about it, it is already available for purchase on iTunes: https://i.ibb.co/ZSQDLDZ/5768679.png

I was actually putting it that way, but I didn't find the track on Spotify and other services, so I thought there was just the iTunes preview available!

    Fixed now!
