  3. Review By Ryan's My friend and I got to the Pavilion just in time to find our other friends that had seats (suckers) so they could hold onto our jackets. We got to the floor to look for my girlfriend and before we knew it, the lights went out. A recording started to play that said, "Welcome to Projekt:Revolution featuring DJ-Ztrip, Cypress Hill (fans cheer loudly), Adema (louder cheering), and Linkin Park (x-tra loud cheering). Please sit back and enjoy the show. Now on stage..........ADEMA (Immediately Adema starts playing Everyone, the first song of their CD. Everyone started cheering and screaming and even though the tickets said no mosh/no crowd surfing, no one cared. Adema left the UIC Pavilion dedicating their final song, Giving In, to Marky's little sister who was ill at the time. About after 20 minutes of setting up, Cypress Hill got on stage where, in my opinion, they weren't very good. A few songs into their set, B-Real asked for the people in the back to bring out Bo-Bo. Half the people in the Pavilion were screaming but the other half were like, "What the hell is Bo-Bo?" Well, we soon found out it was a 5' 6" BONG! YES LADIES AND GENTLEMEN A BONG! They then sang the song "Get High" where about the entire crowd got high from either smoking their own weed or inhaling weed smoke. That was bad. After Cypress Hill finished their hour and fifteen minute long set, the greatest moment was happening...Linkin Park was setting up! After a half hour intermission where a lot of pushing and flashing (yes flashing) took place, Linkin Park took stage. After a few hours of already moshing and being elbow to elbow, the fans did not lose any energy. During the song Points of Authority, Chester came down toward the audience and sang right in front of me! I put my hand way up in he air and me being the 6'2" person I am, had the highest reach to Chester. He noticed my hand and hit it....TWICE! I also got spit on and looked at by him. I sound like a little girl but it took me a couple weeks to finally wash my hand. Halfway through the set, the entire band left the stage and the lights went darker than they were before. Me and a few guys I didn't even know started yelling "MY DECEMBER!!!" Well, we guesed it and Chester got a little pissed at us and said, "look at those three assholes, they ruined it for you!" They performed it and it was amazing. One of their last songs was "Push it" or "shove it", a cover of the Deftones. And of course their final song was One Step Closer, where Marky Chavez, B-Real, and that other guy from Cypress Hill came in before the Shut Up part started. After the concert, we went and chilled outside concert area and bought a bottle of water for $3 (which, may I add, was VERY refreshing). Security finally kicked a few of my friends and I out of the Pavilion where we stayed outside in the freezing cold Chicago weather. Overall, kick ass concert. Out of Five stars I give it a * * * * * Source: http://www.angelfire.com/rock3/linkinpark10/cr9.html
  4. Review By Cortney's My two friends and I went to the Feb 4th Projekt Revolution concert. We arrived at the arena when Adema was halfway into there set. I was just chilling during Cypress Hill's preformance, cause I didn't really give a shit about them. But these guys around my friends and I were smoking weed, and I was like, OH MY GOD! I was getting a contact buzz, I think that's why I fell down the stairs. *haha* More to come on that. At the end of the Cypress Hill preformance, we went looking to sign our friend up for the Underground so that she could meet the guys with us. We finally found it, and we were freaked out that we wouldn't be able to get her to meet them, cuse they weren't giving out any more of the cards. But the ladies were so kick ass and they gave her there last one. YOU ROCK GIRLS, WHOEVER YOU ARE! We went and found seats for the LP preformance. We had already seen the guys in concert, it was just all about meeting them. The guys' preformance was kick ass tho.. you guys rock! So after the concert, we got the run around to get our passes to meet the guys. Finally we found out where we were supposed to go, and in the process, I had to walk down the stairs. I swear that I had a contact buzz, because as I was walking down, I was being all careful, and I fell flat on my ass down the whole flight of stairs. Not only was only the people of the Underground to see me, but my legs were all dirty and wet from the nasty stairs. Everyone started laughing at me, so I was embarrassed of me. But, it would get worse. The guys came out, and we waited for like 15 min and we were going to meet the guys. Well, this time I was holding onto the side of the stairs since I had to walk down them again. My friend laughed and said, "Lets see if Cort can fall again. Then the guys will laugh at her." As I'm walking past Mike and Phoenix my friend goes "This girl fell down the stairs for you!" And they look at me, and Mike continues to sign the piece of paper. But Phoenix goes "Are you ok? What Happened?" And I reply, "The fucking stairs are all wet from drunks god damn beer. Look, my ass is all dirty!" And him and Mike just laugh. I go down the line, get my autographs and pictures, and then I just wait for my friends. As I take this picture of Chester, my friend is shaking his hand, and he looks all googly. My friend still says, "Look at the way he's looking at me. All googly. AHH! CHESTER LIKES ME!" *HAHA* Anyways, the concert was kick ass, something that you'd expect from these completely cool guys. These guys can only get cooler, and I hope to go to many more concerts of there, and add to my 50+ concerts to date. Source: http://www.angelfire.com/rock3/linkinpark10/cr3.html
  5. Review By Cindy's I got picked up from school by my cousin Julie and we went straight to Lowell! It took about an hour and 15 minutes. We parked across the street in the garage and let me tell you, IT WAS FREEZING! I was sick after that day! We found all of the contest winners and waited with them for AN HOUR! I was the youngst one there! Haha, everyone had to bring some sort of identification and I didn't have anything. I brought a library card! HAHA! I felt like such a dweeb, but the guy was awesome. He just laughed and pat me on the head and told me to go in. Hehe By the way the contest was to see a private performance by Linkin Park =) They finally let us in at 4:30 wen it was suppose to start at 4:00! Boogers =P Hehe, well we got in and Mike started talking and I was just in aw that it was actually happening! There was only about 45-50 of us there so we basically had a front row mini concert! They played for about 30 minutes instead of 20 like they were suppose to. They played It's Going Down, Papercut, High Voltage, One Step Closer, some Deftones song, Some Metallica, Pheonix and Brad were playing some jazz song, haha, and they played a little of Sweet Child of Mine but Pheonix messed it up! Haha, Pheonix also tripped Chester! It was funny and Chester beat him up =P Haha Chester also tweaked Mike's nipples, haha! After they were done playing, they signed a bunch of stuff for us! Chester threw out some guitar picks and Rob gave out some drum sticks. Unfortunately, I got neither =( But I did get something and it was from Chester! Hehe, they were giving out this mini posters/carboard things, haha and siging them. They also signed my Hybrid Theory EP for me. Everyone but Brad signed stuff, he wasn't a very happy fellow. Pheonix called someone's friend for them, hehe I thought that was cool. They asked Mike too, but he wouldn't. Anyways, they hung out for a while but then they kicked us out! =P The concert was awesome except Adema couldn't make it! That sucked! But, I bought a sweatshirt and just rocked the whole night with Cypress Hill and LP! Haha, Cypress Hill smoked some shit on stage and they just kicked ass. EXCEPT WHEN THEY SANGE INSANE IN THE MEMBRAIN THEY SAID INSANE LIKE KURT COBAIN! RIP KURT! Meanies! =P!!!!!!! Anyways, Linkin Park played a lot. They played Papercut, In The End, By Myself, With You, Points of Authority, My December, It's Gound Down, The Deftones song again, One Step Closer, Crawling, Pushing Me Away, and Runaway. My throat was hurting after a while but you know, I toughed it out! Hehe I really encourage you to go see LP They just kicked ass. Source: http://www.angelfire.com/rock3/linkinpark10/cr6.html
  6. Review By Rachael's Last year, on October 11th, 2001, I went to the Family Values 2001 concert in Cleveland, Ohio. We got there kind of late, so we missed part of the first act. For the life of me, I can't remember who it was. Walking in, we were surrounded by people wearing Linkin Park shirts, stickers, and patches. I was familiar with LP at the time, but nowhere near how I am now. Anyway, there were people following these wierd signs, and I'd later learn that they were LPU meet and greet signs. We turned away from the huge security guards, and walked to our seats. Sitting down, Spike 1000 was playing, and because they annoyed the hell out of me, I went to a souviner stand and decided to spend some of my cash. Happily taking my purchases (an LP shirt and picture) back to my seat, I was forced to sit through another horrible opening act before LP. I talked to the people sitting around us, and then... the curtain opened. Brad, with crutches, was on his guitar, Joe his turntables, Phoenix his bass, and Rob his drums. Mike and Chester were nowhere to be seen, and then, out of nowhere, Chaz comes running onstage, and screams, this loud, piercing, beautiful scream. Everyone is immediately on their feet, and Mike walks out, and begins "With You." I don't remember exactly what order they played the songs in, but in between "Crawling" and "A Place For My Head," Chester stopped everything and started talking. He was like: "Hey everyone. We love and appreciate every one of you. Thanks for coming out here tonight to see us play. This tour has been awesome for everyone, except Brad, who as you can see, is on crutches. He broke his foot earlier this month, but he still hasn't missed a show." Everyone started clapping, and Brad took one of his crutches and waved it around in the air. Anyway, they played every song off of "Hybrid Theory" except "Cure for the Itch." Mike and Chester had gone to sidestage for a few seconds, and when the came back, both were wearing black wifebeaters. "It's too hot in here," Mike explained. "Papercut" was amazing, becuase there were all of these flashing lights, and Mike looked so cool standing on this little thing over the audience. The second last song they did, "In the End" got this amazing reaction from the crowd, because it was their newest song, and everyone loved it. Not many people knew all of the words, but there I was, in my own little section, leading maybe twenty people through the whole song. At the part where Chester goes "I put my trust..." he sang the first part, then Mike looked at us smiled, and said "You've gotta help us... sing!" So we did. Everyone sang the final part up to "But in the end..." and then Chaz and Mike started singing again. After that song, they clapped for us, and dubbed us "the Linkin Park Choir" even though I know that they do that everywhere, it was an amazing sight to see all six of them clapping for us, and telling us what a great job we did. Rob started tapping his drum set and Mike looked out at the crowd. "This is the first show on the FVT this year," he said. "So we apologize if our set sucked." Everyone clapped, and then he smiled again. "Good. Well, we thank you again for coming out, and we know that you know this one, so please help us out, ok?" The intro to their last song, "One Step Closer" played, and the crowd went nuts... I almost got knocked out of my row because everyone was so crazy. Near the end of the song, Mike went offstage and down onto the floor with everyone in the pit. Some girl grabbed his mic, and started singing into it, and she was passing it all around to everyone. The band just kept singing, and Mike finally got the mic back, just in time for the end of the song. He stayed down there for maybe five minutes, just talking to people, shaking hands, and hanging out. The on-stage five said their goodbyes, and the curtain closed, hiding them from view. Mike waved too, and then disappeared underneath the stage. After a twenty five minute wait, Staind came on. I enjoyed their set, too, but it was nothing like LP's. Those guys are amazing. Onstage and off. They seem like really nice people, and I plan on going to see them again, if they ever decide to come back to Cleveland. They sounded great, and it seemed like they'd taken a lot of time to make themselves sound good for us. The live show sounds nothing like the CD, which is a good thing, because the CD does nothing to showcase the vocal abilites of Mike and Chester. Or Mr. Hahn's DJ skills... he's amazing. Remy even appeared at the show. I advise everyone to go see Linkin Park if they get the chance. If you're a fan of anything they've ever done, you'll love the concert. I wasn't diasppointed in any way, what-so-ever, except that I didn't get to meet them, but that's fixed now. I'm a member of the LPU, and get to meet them at the next show I go to. On a scale of 1- 10, the show was probably a 35. They had tons of energy, and you could totally feel it. They worked the crowd, had fun, and let the fans know that they were important to them. GO LINKIN PARK! Source: http://www.angelfire.com/rock3/linkinpark10/cr1.html

  13. Review By LP_ak_LP the vancouver show rocked the casbah. Started out with Story of the Year, who, since that concert, i listen to alot now. THey kicked ass. they did a cover of 'enter sandman' as their last song....that ruled. Then hoobastank came and did songs like crawling in the dark, running away, and other ones. They finished with one verse of "girls just wanna have fun" which they called the best rock song ever. loll!. then POD, pod got people up on stage from the crowd to sing youth of the nation, and he threw the mic into the crowd to get them to sing and they threw it back to him!!!! it was totally cool. *drumroll* as the linkin park meteora world tour banner dropped and they started with "With You" the place went nuts. From there, they followed with dont stay, papercut, and runaway. They did an acoustic (piano, and chester) version of breaking the habit for one verse, then the whole band came in. They ended it with all the singers of Story, Hooba, and POD come on stage to scream the bridge to One Step Closer. Overall, a very good show, even though chester was a bit sick from the flu still. It was by far the best concert i have ever seen..and the fact it was 4.5 hours for 57 bucks in row 10 helped a bit too haha
