This. I really like MtM(it was a good new way). But this..... . Just 9 songs are "full" songs =/.And yes, I think i can judge after 30s. btw i think the messenger will be famous.

I think it doesn't matter how many "full" songs there are, as long as they are good (and in my opinion they are). and i think you should keep in mind that the record is meant to be an album, therefore theres going to be the 48 minutes track.

I get what you're saying. I just went to amazon to look up MTM's 30 sec clips. I think the big difference is that LP was still using their old style then and it was easier to judge, but now we really don't know.

I don't know what to think right now. From the clips so far, I can say either this will be epic or it won't be. I love the lyrics, but the pop is sorta killing it. Then again, it sounds more like the Gorillaz "Plastic Beach" than any American pop, but still. However, I need to listen to the full songs before I can say anything bad. (I'm probably gonna love this album for sure )

(Yes I'm quoting myself). Anyway, I'm changing my stand. I've gotten used to the pop sound, and I can see this will be one hell of a record. With these little clips are epic, and the reviews are right, this will be my favorite Linkin Park album (I still think it sounds like "Plastic Beach" though.)

This same thing happened when MTM came out. So expect the album to leak extremely shortly. To me I'm kinda torn with the sound of the clips but I dont wanna jump the gun till I hear the whole album.

requiem - sounds pretty frickin sweet.

radiance - kinda cool, good build up but strange

burning in the skies - so disappointed. i was really excited for it but it sounds so generic.

empty spaces - didnt listen. savin it.

when they come for me - pretty cool. i like it. wanna hear some chester though

robot boy - ew. i do not like this so far.

jornada del muerto - has potential. i'll leave it at that.

waiting for the end - sounds really good. i think this one will grow on me.

blackout - cool screaming but i dont like how they mess with it and split it up

wretches and kings - easily one of my favorites.

wisdom, justice and love - i dont like that they changed MLK's voice. idk we'll see. piano sounds cool.

iridescent - i like this. a lot.

fallout - meh.

the catalyst - so far easily the best, unfortunately...

the messenger - WOW. actually this is the best. holy shit. great way to end it. wish it built up from acoustic guitar though.

 

overall, i know we cant judge it all on 30 second clips and i'm not going to yet but when they said it would be different, they werent kidding. again, we'll see. LP forever \m/

This album isn't worth to buy, for 2 or 3 listenable tracks.

It comes as no surprise to me that the majority of the people already trash-talking this album (based on a total of 7 minutes and 18 seconds of material from a 48-minute album, mind you) come from "metal up your ass" country (a.k.a. Europe). I'm sorry, but if you people seriously expect "good music" to always consist of songs with heavy guitars, lots of screaming, and hard rocking drums, you've been following the wrong band for the last 10 years. Go listen to Korn or Godsmack or some other relic of the nu metal era if that's the kind of music you want to hear. You'll probably find their albums in the bargain bin at your local retailer.

 

And yes, I think i can judge after 30s.

There is a definite attempt on this album to sell the mainstream listeners. But, make no mistake that this is a solid "album" and is probably more of an album than any of their other CDs. It has a definite flow to it that is like none other from their offerings.

 

I enjoy every song on this cd.

 

Do I think this should have taken 3.5 years? No. But that doesn't mean it isn't good.

 

The reception of this album will determine the rest of their musical career....so if it is bad, it is on them. They won't need any harsh criticism.
