Without the proofs they will not change their position (I already went through this). I could send it in a reply message.

What do they want? A photo of the HT 20 credits in the box set? Because it is listed there.

I think they never mentioned the song by name in interviews, but here they mention the song having a Barry White sample:

Like Hahninator said, the Barry White song is credited by name in the credits of the 20th anniversary edition of Hybrid Theory. It means the band had to pay to clear the sample. There's no greater proof than that. They wouldn't pay for a sample they didn't use. Here's a photo:

Edit:

I read the credits again and it looks like they didn't sample the Barry White original, they sampled a cover version. We had the sample wrong once again. lol

Well the obvious answer here is Mike made up the sample thing so they could get out of releasing Pictureboard on LPU 9, but now that lie caught up with them since they'd HAVE to acknowledge it if they wanted to put it on HT20. So Warner just passed my man Jimmy Smith a few bucks to cover it up

Shinoda marveled at the fan determination to uncover the track over the years. "There’s so many songs … why is there so much focus on this one? You’ve never even heard it," he pondered. But even after clearing the sample (which he revealed was a Barry White drum sample), fans were able to piece...

Does anyone have any information about the sample that was cleared?

I read somewhere in the chat that it was: https://www.whosampled.com/sample/368422/Barry-White-I-Only-Want-to-Be-With-You-Isaac-Hayes-Breakthrough/
Is it really true?

"The sample in question is a Barry White drum sample. The outro drum loop in the song was taken from a version of "I'm Gonna Love You Just A Little More Baby" performed by Jimmy Smith."

I just listened to the multitrack "Runaway". The drum loop that is used in bridge is the same outro drum loop "Pictureboard" ... "" The sample question is even more unexplained for me now...

You guys must be joking right? I think i mentioned that a few times and nobody cared, at least now people seem to reallize thats more or less the same sample😁

My guess is either the band just didn´t want the song out there for whatever reason and made up that sample excuse and by guessing how forgetfull mike is he didn´t reallize they have more or less the same sample in Runnaway. Since that song is on Ht i doubt it would have slipped through the cracks but pictureboard not.

Or the song contains some other sample that made releasing it in the past problematic and they forgot witch one it was.🤷‍♂️

The same sample from Runaway bridge is here too!

That would have solved it tbh, but as far as google tells me that Record came out in 2002 with is a few year later than HT. Though its not impossible for that beat to be on a different break record that was released earlier.

Also all they did to PB was hipass the end section of it to release it. I´m wondering why they did not just do that for lpu9 since its quite the simple edit.

This thing came out in 1996, and it has a lot of samples that the band used. Here, for example, is the track that Joe plays in the video "DJ Joe from Hybrid Theory".

Strange that google tells me otherwise, also the vinyl joe plays with in that video is the 100MPH Backsliding Turkey Kuts from Dj Qbert wich came out in 97. I even got the vinyl just because of that video. Check

at around 0:40 where you can see the picture in the middle then check the picture from 100MPH Backsliding Turkey Kuts.
