They said it right after they played "In The End". Could this be off the new record? Or does it have to do with the mall soundtrack? Either way I was excited to hear the news for new Linkin Park. I emailed the dj to see if I can get any more info. If I hear anything I will keep everyone posted. My Pre Calculus/Trigonometry teacher (he's into heavy music) said he heard a radio station say that they are going to have a lot of different styles of songs on the album, and will shortly be releasing the album title. I didn't expect them to be done this early, I figured they would be done around late March or April. Nice. However, I'm gonna take this info with a grain of salt for the moment. He's awesome, and so laid back. After he's done teaching us, I usually come up to his desk and we talk about music and computers. He introduced me to A Perfect Circle and other bands and I gave him some names to listen to; we basically figured out we like really similar things. He says he likes LP's first two albums (go figure) and he's really interested in all of the buzz for their new album. For LP, I hope to God they don't make the Mall soundtrack sound anything like their upcoming studio album. I would love Reanimation-esque stuff on the soundtrack with huge string layers (David Campbell?), like.. very cinematic. Like it's suppose to be as a soundtrack. And for the new album, I'd love anything. I'm really looking forward to the "heavy" that keeps going around. I just hope they don't try too hard, and hopefully they make stuff the band can play live. I don't remember them playing castle of glass or a light that never comes at all. So it could just be one of those. It would be nice if it was something off the new album. If they're already at the mixing process (even if it's only for one song atm) then I expect we'd hear the song at latest by the end of March. We're almost at the beginning of March and they're still recording vocals for some songs (they uploaded a picture of recording gang vocals to instagram today). I wouldn't expect them to release the first single until the album is done. And, even if one song is in the mixing and almost ready to be released, they need to announce the date and promote it for a couple of weeks. It went very fast, recently we had first studio update, some months ago some said they are in beginning phase etc. and now we found out they already made the first single. That's amazing! I think all their info they said to the fans is late, I mean, all the things they show us right now may be from some months ago. If that's true, then they do it to give all those updates, that weren't showed to fans, throughout the time we wait for the album.
