The Linkin Park summer tour with Incubus, what we're dubbing as the "Linkubus Tour", was announced this morning. The real tour name, however, is the HONDA CIVIC TOUR. This is the band's first time playing US amphitheatres since 2008, and the first time they've played them since 2001 on a tour that isn't Projekt Revolution. The Linkubus dates actually encompass amphitheatres (12), arenas (4) and festivals (2) in the same tour - a first for the band in North America.

Kicking off in Bristow, VA on August 11th, the 18 shows run for a total of 31 days across North America, including three shows in western Canada - a place the band has not visited since the Meteora World Tour when it hit Vancouver in February 2004 over 8 years ago. The tour ends on September 10 in Chula Vista, CA. The tour does not hit the band's hometown of Los Angeles, CA or a big city they've played every US tour - New York City, but there are two pretty noticeable gaps in the tour between the Mansfield, MA / Camden, NJ shows and the Mountain View, CA and Chula Vista, CA dates. Maybe something will get added! The two festivals are also in Canada - X-FEST in Calgary and SONiC BOOM in Edmonton.

After LP canceled three shows last year in the US (Washington D.C., Uncasville, and Cincinnati), fans will be happy to know that all three cities are being revisited on this tour (Bristow for the DC show, Uncasville with the same venue, and Cincinnati with the amphitheatre).

Venue-wise, this is the first time the band has not played the Lakewood Amphitheatre in Atlanta (in the summer)...moving to Alpharetta's Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre (which Incubus headlined last year) instead. Also instead of the usual Clarkston,MI DTE Music Center, the tour hits Auburn Hills, MI's Palace instead. One venue will get their SIXTH Linkin Park show - Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA (2001, 2004, 2007, 2008, 2011, & 2012).

Also, Incubus will not be playing the first two shows of this tour.

Thoughts? Who's going to a show or multiple shows?

EDIT: Two festivals were added in Canada!
EDIT 2: The Honda press release confirms MUTEMATH will be opening the tour.
SomedudeRemix
Wow, when's the last time they did a tour like this that they weren't the creators of?

No Florida date? Bastards. I can't even hit up the Georgia date either, because band camp starts that day. Guess I'll have to wait for the solo tour.
AudioNick
If there are no UK dates, I MUST FLY TO THE STATES. I MUST.

Camden, baby!
Hahninator
First 5 shows, let's jam.

Honda Civic Tour? Did they ever tour sponsor? Do you know? Or is it now a "global crisis" or higher power (Warner)?

Thanks for the reply.
wiiesel
Damn...no eastcoast show when I'm in the US in august/september

edit: nevermind....upcoming european headline tour smile.gif
Hahninator
First time in a long time they are on another tour and first time they headline another tour I guess.

Announcement says "upcoming European headline tour".

No Incubus at Jiffy Lube Live?

FACKIN' BULLSHAT!!!

Oh well, guess I'll have to meet up with my boys in CA for a show.
mattyice318
3 hours from Tinley, could be worse
LinkinPete
Any idea who the opening act for this is? Ticketmaster has Mutemath for one of the dates on there but last year they had a rotating opener for Blink and MCR. Tour also seems kind of short, wonder if more dates are added.

I'm going to Uncasville and Boston. I can't fucking wait!!! May 4th!
DecanoLP
Wow, I didn't expect them to do some more make-up shows, that's pretty cool. Well, looks like a cool tour, I won't attend a show though biggrin.gif

it's nice they make up canceled shows from last tour

Yeah, that's really cool of them. I had tickets to Uncasville last year, I was pretty bummed when they canceled, I'm happy that they're making it up.
Xero21
Disappointed I won't see Incubus, but it's nice that I'll be at the first show of the U.S. tour. biggrin.gif Thanks for making up for DC, LP.

I'm in the same position here. At least they are making up the DC show. Incubus is headlining the DC101 chili cook off though in May.

Im just gonna drive up to camden NJ. I really want to see Incubus. They are really good live I heard. Unless the openers for DC show are just as good.

Added Promo video to the main post.

I am disappointed about incubus because I saw them last year and they were such a waste of money a nd out together the worst set list ever. As for this tour it's strange I don't see big city on the list like metro ny area and for CA, Los Angeles and orange county which has the Honda center actually here so I assume we are missing a few dates.

true, I don't think they could do a new album promo/tour and miss out the uk, either way even if it's before/after the US tour I'd still be happy with that. smile.gif
andlight91
well looks like I wont be seeing LP again. I have no way to get to Cinci, and thats the closest venue.
LPxDC
is this the shortest US tour the band has done? Looks like it'll be the first two dates of the tour for me from the looks of it. Amtrak ftw
Geki
It could be a short and sweet tour.. I feel kind of bad for all the people that can't go. From the 105 radio interview, it seems like this is the only US tour they're gonna do. Chester said something like ''We're gonna play festivals and big shows in Europe, then do a US tour with Incubus, and after that we want to go to Australia and do a huge tour in South America, we also want to try and play in South Africa because we have never been there, and then do Asia, and come back home to write another record''.

me too, I'm sitting here moaning about the (as yet) lack of UK dates, but it seems that the US is going to be hit hardest by the band's attempts to shorten their touring/record writing cycles.
but at leat they're making a concious effort to go to places they've never been before smile.gif
Faint!ntoPieces
REALLY hoping they add a date in Toronto/Montreal... Otherwise this will be yet another tour I won't able to see them play. sad.gif

To be fair, the US has had a lot of dates through the years. It's good for the band to start spreading their wings and visiting new places!
linkin_boss
u_u' damn i'll ve visiting usa during july...and i won't be able to see them sad.gif. oh well...

Unless something changes, I'll be going to the Camden, NJ and Alpharetta, GA shows.

No Arizona date! sad.gif

Houston and Dallas again. That will be fun to do back to back again. And Texas in August is no joke. I almost passed out at PR08.

I hope that they add more dates. This is really short, and the USA is a big place and NOT easy to travel around like Europe is.
SomedudeRemix
If this is the only US tour then I'm going to be very upset. I haven't seen LP since Projekt Rev 08 (the only time I've seen them) and I barely remember it.

I hope everyone that can go has a lot of fun, though.

I'm sure they will add some more...there's gaps in there that we'd assume would be filled.

No Inky first 2 shows sucks but oh well.

Only date anywhere near me is Georgia and that's the one day I absolutely cannot make it.
Hahninator
Inky very likely to upstage LP here - they bring an epic live show. LP's stuff I saw on 2011 with all the malfunctions, interludes and weird production is likely to get raped if they don't change anything up big time lol. Pop/electronica ain't gonna cut it for Incubus fans. Gonna be a great tour though.

LPL will be setting up shop in Camden.

it's likely they'll drop alot of the ATS interludes for a tour with fans other than hardcore LPers. that and the fact that a much more singles orientated set is something the band and crew's been more comfortable with for the past 8 years or so, i think alot of the malfunctions will be ironed out too
lakersfan13
I'll be going to DC and Philly for sure. Trying to figure out everything else right now. Not really feeling the $100 ticket prices.

shit! that's an insane amount for a ticket.
although, I just paid £77 ($122) for some big arena tour tickets recently (1 artist), and considering this is two kinda big bands on the bill, it's not as bad as it could be.
but I admit, breaking into triple digits is a big thing...
dereklp
I will most likely be at the Indy and Cinci show.
