Not really news, but more of a tease.

From Mike's twitter:

*Starts making theories relating to "The"*

Possibilities:
1) Part of the tracklist, lyrics, or album title?
2) Mikerolling.
3) LP's schedule for 2012.

i hope it has something to do with the 5th album
shadowofthehabit92
Well, this has triggered my anticipation into full gear! Though so little, it seems like it tells so much.

It could be a song title...or it could be a sign that the new album is coming out this year...or it could be Mike just teasing.

I guess that L.P. 2012 means "Long player 2012" aka new album in 2012

Because if it should mean Linkin Park he wouldn't add that points after L and P

3) LP's schedule for 2012.

This seems to be the answer, because Adam just tweeted a similar picture.

"LP Team Summit, round 2." So basically the LP team has been getting together and planning out the year.

Who wants to bet that the word "lie" will be in at least 6 songs on this album?
MONDREUS240
In THE end it doesn't even matter

I'm gonna say the same thing I said on the LPA:

Phoenix is gonna show up to the LPU chat tomorrow, hold up the piece of paper, smile, and then leave. Calling it right now.

i wouldn't mind tbh

I still think mid 2013 for the album...despite what everyone is saying.
LGraham
yeah I really don't see any reason to think that the record'll be out this year. IF as it's being claimed they've finished a bunch of songs, there's still mixing, mastering, plus the huge amount of work that goes into promotion, album production, not to mention the time and effort that goes into the album art now... I know that this doesn't take YEARS to do, but still, I don't think the band would rush an album through just for a couple of festival dates. They've done summer festivals without new material before, and I reckon RaR/RiP will be similar. It seems so unlikely that they'd finish the ATS tour and be so keen to suddenly get back into another huge touring cycle. I think here at LPL we tend to overlook the fact that the band has got family as a priority too laugh.gif

Another big announcement by LP Entertainment Company.

Edit: And what if its just -happy new year- aka pour feliciter?

In the Pheonix chat today, he said they’ve written upwards 40 to 50, but working on maybe 15 to 20

also he said a new single might come sooner than you expect

i was going with 2012 and i still am

now for when in 2012 idk but i hope summer sometime
Ducko
If the album does come out in 2012, it's going to be late 2012.

LP releases music insanely slow, 4 albums in a period of 12 years? thats extremely slow

I think it's reasonable , artists that releae an album every 1 and a half year have got lot of crappy tracks on their records 'cuz they finally have a lack of inspiration for only focussing on the deadline .

I really agree with this, I'd rather wait for an album that's brilliant than being immediately fed an album that was just a bunch of ok-sounding b-sides from the first...

I actually am kind of pissed off that the new LP album could very well be coming out this year. I like when bands take their time with albums, because the album is usually very solid and strong and full of amazing songs. If a band rushes album every year or two, then usually a lot of tracks suck and it feels rushed. Look at MTM for example. That album took 4 years to come out after Meteora was released and every single song (including b-sides and demos and seeds) all were AMAZING from it.

You have a serious obsession with MTM.

you do have an obession with MTM. Not saying thats a bad thing, it was a great album, but not ever song is good.

I'm gonna look at it this way, My favorite album is Meteora, that album was the fastest recoreded LP album (at least im pretty sure it was made faster than HT), but it came out very quickly after HT considering HT came out close to the end of 2000 and the fact that they did tour and stuff for HT. It came out very shortly after that and it's my favorite LP album. So I belive LP can release a good album in a short amount of time, and I'm all for bands taking their time but LP just takes to long sometimes
