Hey guys.

This is just a friendly suggestion, of course, but when it comes to forums, I have been using multiple softwares for many years (at least 10) and have had several businesses involving them. I have a lot of knowledge regarding them.

I read in another thread that the forums would be converted to vBulletin. I was against it, but I felt that I should grab the attention of the homies in red before they were to make a mistake. Back in the day, vBulletin was the best forum software available, while it was still under Jelsoft. Back when vBulletin was in it's 3.8.x stage, it was unstoppable! I would say about a year ago, Jelsoft was bought out from a company called Interned Brands (IB), who have completely changed vBulletin as a whole and fucked over long time customers with a price change. Not only that, but the new vBulletin was a piece of shit. Horrible fucking software. It has lost many customers, as well as long time developers. The original vBulletin team no longer works on the project, and they have all been replaced. The quality of the product has been going to hell ever since.

As of yesterday, it has come to my attention that IB has been bought out by a private equity investment firm. (http://techcrunch.com/2010/09/20/private-equity-firm-acquires-internet-brands-in-640-million-deal/)

To put it short, I see NOTHING good for LPL converting to a vBulletin. Save yourself time, money, and QUALITY by simply upgrading your IPB license to the latest IPB. There is nothing out there better right now.

I agree with you Seth.
I have worked with both of these forum softwares and honestly IPB was a hell of a lot easier to use and understand.
Dmitry
I agree (in this case).
