QUOTE (LGraham @ Apr 16 2012, 07:44 PM) *
the band being popular has nothing to do with it. most of the discussion concerning LP's live durations are that Chester needs to use his voice but not overstretch it, to play for about 3 hours each night would kill his voice.

venues are strict about timing - every venue has curfews which bands must to adhere to or they get fined for over-running and violating noise laws.

also I don't think you can compare LP to Foo Fighters, or any other band for that matter. Foo Fighters/Green Day etc. bands that play these real long sets each night are entirely different to LP.
relative popularity has nothing to do with set duration, it's dependant upon each individual band. LP choose not to play these long sets.
And quite frankly, I don't think they could pull that off - their stage presence isn't massive, they play the songs and don't make a much of an effort to interact with the audience and put on a show per se. I'm not dissing the band, that's just their style, i think nything over the 1 & 1/2 hours they already play is long enough, three hours of that would get really dull.

Three hours would certainly be a disaster the way LP does shows currently. I think, with the tour schedule that LP seems to be doing now, two hours could be doable, and could leave the fans going home happy.

Two 90-minute sets could work for the HC tour, maybe if the tickets weren't 100 dollars.

I am surprised they aren't playing at any of the Long Island, NY venues like Jones Beach.

Anyway the closest venue to me that I would consider would be Camden but I already made plans to see the Atlantic City airshow.

Oh well I guess I won't be able to see Breaking The Habit live again.

Looks like a gap in there for an NYC show.

I really hope so.

The Jones Beach Theater has nothing scheduled for 8/15 & 8/16 but the have to major events on the14th, 17th, and 18th so the possibility of them holding a show is getting slimmer. Hopefully they could squeeze them in there.

15th and 16th are off days on the tour, so I'd guess that'd be a very realistic guess. I'd say either is likely - has LP ever left NYC off of a headlining tour? No. Have they ever left LA off of a headlining tour? No. I'd think there'd be more shows added like we're seeing in Europe (aka adding stuff later) and like previous US tours have had (shows being added after initial announcement).

Just my guess.

I'm seriously gonna shot somebody if Brandon doesn't show up for some LP song participation AND (preferably)/OR Chester joins them for a performance (if one of the two, this second option which would be much more unique - Drive/Anna Molly/Love Hurts/Megalomaniac...).

Both options with a DSP release of freakin' course.

This tour is gonna rock so much! (I had the oportunity to listen to both here in Brazil 2010 in the same festival, one following the other and it was one of the best hours ever musically speaking)

Somewhat off-topic. Isn't this venue name kind of an oxymoron:

Comfort Dental Amphitheatre

Anyone know the ticket limit for LPU presale? Also, anyone know the policy if my LPU membership is in my name, but I take my son (could he go to the M&G as the LPU member and I go with him since he is a minor)? I tried to find some kind of faq on LPU and also searched the forums but could not find these items addressed. Going to the Indy show on 8/25! Thanks!

well from the looks of it, I'm only able to do just Bristow. Unless a NYC or FL date gets added.

I wish you were allowed to bring 1 guest with you to an LPU M&G. Kind of sucks that you have to go alone. But I can't wait for this tour. I'm not expecting it to be anything compared to all the previous LP shows I've been to, since it's the Honda Civic Tour (ew), but should be fun nonetheless.
