This probably isn't even supposed to be a "remix," just the single/radio edit. There's nothing "new" in this version of the song, they just shortened a couple sections, took the drum loop from the second verse and added it to the first verse, and pasted the guitar interlude between the first chorus and second verse into a couple other sections of the song. The album version of Iridescent starts really soft and builds up fairly slowly, so they probably rearranged it a bit to fit in better with an action movie like Transformers. The album version of Iridescent makes about as much sense in Transformers as a track like Shadow of the Day would, the energy just isn't there.

QUOTE (AndOne @ Apr 13 2011, 02:37 PM) *
Yeah not really a remix but a less "lame" version. Is it just me or do the added drum parts (in the intro for example) sound a lot like the Catalyst?

That little drum part is actually pasted in from the beginning of the bridge, it's there on the album version of Iridescent. I always thought it was funny that those 2 songs shared a similar format with how the drums come in.

QUOTE (Keols @ Apr 13 2011, 02:43 PM) *
If they perform this version live from now on I will be pissed off.

100% positive that won't happen.

QUOTE (andydlp @ Apr 13 2011, 02:49 PM) *
really not liking it. Absolutely love the album version which still trumps this. Seems like something that was done by a fan like The Catalyst remix contest.

If this is the version that gets released as the official single then its a huge let down IMO. However, if its just for the OST then I can live with that. Just please don't let it be what is officially released as the single....please LP!!!

Again...this isn't even a "remix," this probably IS the radio edit/single version of the song. And I don't see why it matters, if you're so vehemently against this version of the song, listen to the album version. It's not like you don't have a choice in the matter.

* Meteora: Hybrid Theory with a different album cover.
* Live in Texas: Hybrid Theory on a stage.
* Collision Course: Hybrid Theory and some other idiot rapping.
* Minutes to Midnight: Not Hybrid Theory. This album was instantly panned by many people for not being Hybrid Theory.

Nothing drastic to the original version, as others have noted. A few tucks and tweaks and beats added in the beginning, but nothing, really, in terms of a wholesale change. It works, I guess. Probably jazzed up a little bit for the rest of the soundtrack to the movie.

Yeah, I thought everybody knew that "remix" was a horrible term for it. I, too, think it is a radio edit.

Anyway, I like it.

not much of a remix.....wish they would've remixed it to reanimation proportions and delivered something completely different than the original song

Its ok. Not as good as the original though, but it will probably fit better with the movie. I hope that they use the original for the video though.

I agree with Astat, more of a radio or single edit more than a remix, i like it but the original is such a powerful song but beleive this version will tie in better with the movie :-)

ANY version of this song fails to fit in with an action movie. Still stumped as to why they chose it.

It could just be used for the credits at the end.

More an alternate version or radio edit than a remix but they gonna release it as the "(Transformers Remix)". This version will be sent to the radios so this version will end up in the video, not the album version.

Exactly.

Hate to sound obvious, but W&K would have been the best candidate.

Probably the song goes for a emotional part of the movie... Won't watch it anyway.

I think a remix would be cooler than a edit, though.

It's quite obvious where this is going to be placed in the film... In fact, I'd say even the timing is obvious.

The 'hard/quick cut to credits' technique used in... I don't know... both of the movies preceding this one will be used again - with the Chester part of 'Let it go!' starting as this happens - so the final minute of this new version will play over the credits and probably a shortened version of the first 3 minutes will play just prior to the credits.

Very fitting for the tone of the third film. People following the film are predicting a sad, yet triumphant ending (ie, they have won but not without great loss/sacrifice). It's quite clear then that this song(/sound) fits that kind of thing.

LPYoutube The youtube channel changed.

It's saying it's the new single and it links it to the iTunes download of ATS. It's more of a radio edit then a remix. Thou, the background is now Transformers. I hope they do something besides this. It's to similar to the original.

I really like it, i think is a good "version"
If LP put on the Single Cover, Iridescent Transformers Version will be much better than Iridescent Remix...

Nobody can beat "New Divide".
