The length of the album never bothered me. To be quiet honest when I saw the length of the 6-track sampler it actually shocked me. LP has always been able to create quality songs throughout an album regardless of length so I'm not worried at all with how long ATS is. I just want the album already. And all these previews of The Catalyst are driving me insane

I think they had the times right. But I don't understand that 6 of the songs equal over half of the length of the album and the other 9 songs equal less than half the length of the album. Seems weird. But we will see when it comes out.

I think calling it "flipping out" is being a bit dramatic. We're just trying to figure out how 6 songs are all at least 4 minutes and make up 27 minutes of the album, with 9 other songs having to fill up the other 18ish minutes.

As for that, there would have to be 3 instrumentals/short interlude songs that were a minute or less.

I just see it going down the same road as the one about the artwork, where there was a lot of bitching because the aesthetics and style didn't line up with someone's preconceived ideas. People seem to think, or have thought, that with the tracklist of 15 songs/tracks, that it's going to be pretty long, like over an hour or something...some rap and r&b CDs have that many tracks, more, but don't come close to the limit of what a CD can hold. I just hope for those that do go off the deep end, give the thing a listen first when it comes out.

I'm not complaining about the length. It is the longest LP album to date. The thing is 6 of the songs equal 27 minutes, which means the other 9 have to be short. I'm not complaining about the length though and I am happy that it is the longest LP album.

Well, lets just see how this unfolds. Nothing is set in stone. Mike might have miscalculated the length and it could probably be 50+ minutes, but who knows. Anyway, Quality over quantity.

Prolly gonna be 10 full-length tracks or something, cause the first track, last track, Jornada del Muerto (remembering off the top of my head, if I fucked up the spelling then sorry) and Robot Boy at least seem like instrumentals.

Hey guys, when is the next album coming out after A Thousand Suns? COME ON LP, HOW LONG UNTIL THE NEXT ALBUM AFTER A THOUSAND SUNS!? A THOUSAND SUNS IS HOLDING UP THE NEXT ALBUM! OMG! Also I have a question. Does anyone know when albums usually go up for Pre-order on Itunes? Is it like a week before it comes out? Do you think the pre-order on Itunes will come on begginning of September or sometime during August? Cause when that get puts up for preorder we can see how long each track is.

I'm pretty sure it's one week for some of the lesser bands, but usually they have a "countdown to _____" and that starts when the first single comes out. Usually. It could be anywhere from one week to a month. My guess is when the single hits but don't quote me on it. Unless I'm right


And to all of those saying people are "flipping out" or "complaining" I'm sorry but I truly feel like if only 10 of the 15 are actual songs I will be a tad disappointed (pending that those instrumentals are ten seconds long. If they are full and wholesome then no complaints). I agree, quality over quantity any day of the week. I thought Wake was a decent opening, and so was foreward (my only exception of a BA short instrumental), and session & C4TI were amazing. But having more than two or three instrumentals seems like it might water down the album. Again, certainly quality over quantity. But those phone calls on Reanimation? kinda annoying. My iPod's shuffle was getting pissy with me.
