Studio Update #7 from Chester

We are already on update #7 and still barely anything has been revealed...Even in the 24 min podcast update nothing new was talked about besides them saying they needed more studio space for live drums and better workflow. So far, the biggest "update" has come from Blackbear's Snapchat revealing new music which may or may not be part of the new album, but at least it's better than these repeated "updates."

Mike playing some new shit from studio computer ( even 10 sec would be great) camera zooming at Mike's desktop so we can see new demos names. THAT would be good studio update. Something like this is complete worthless

Nothing new. Could they be more vague?

I think they are doing the updates just to show that they are alive, that they didn't break up or something, because literrally nothing is happening when it comes to interaction between LP and their fans. Otherwise many fans would probably even forget that LP does still exist, updates are posted mostly for the sake of posting itself (even though there might not be so much to post about).

Actually there's some new information in the update. They've been working on the vocals for last couple of months, which means probably more than on THP, since some vocal parts sounded like they would have been done by the first try. And basically THP sounded a bit like it would have been done in a hurry. He also said that he hopes that the new material challanges LP fanbase, which might mean that the new album might be drastically different from the previous ones.

I don't think they will ever do a "making of" again. Almost a year went by for THP before they released any making of footage.

That's really a shame. I used to love watching the making of's. Can't count how many times I've watched them all. I know we have LPTV but it's not the same at all, IMO. I know Fiore films the band constantly, in the studio and not in the studio, so there is definitely more then enough footage to make a half hour making of to include for fans that want to buy it, IMO.

THIS. I was excited when I heard him say that. To be honest, I think we should be happy we're getting anything at all. It's not like they have to do it. They could have stayed silent like they did with THP.

Honestly, I actually kind of liked that, how they stayed silent. The studio updates are kind of annoying since we really don't get much info and each time you're left disappointed, even though you shouldn't be expecting much anyways. Lol.

I think the whole point of opening the recording process to fans through social media is not having to release a making of documentary for this album. They didn't do a making of for The Hunting Party and people never shut up about it.

While I agree that this last update was kind of useless, they have already given us a lot about this album. We know their approach for creating the songs, we know who they're collaborating with, we got a few sneak peeks of elements of new songs, we even got a 360° studio tour video. For previous albums, we wouldn't know anything at all until after it was released.

What I see a lot of people saying is that these are not real updates because they don't give us new music.

The band has spoken many times about how playing and releasing Qwerty was a mistake because it gave the fans a wrong idea of what Minutes To Midnight would sound like and they wouldn't make that mistake again.

I think you're right about opening up about the recording process.

Tho, i must say with the making off's it had more depth about how and why they did certain things,
