Chester guests at Royal Machines charity event

We have learned that Chester was in Cleveland, Ohio on the 21st, the same night as the Republican National Convention, but guested with Royal Machines for a charity event.

Royal Machines is the modern-day Camp Freddy. After Camp Freddy disbanded, Dave Navarro started Royal Machines as an all-star jam band and this is the first time Chester has joined them. Dave Navarro, as you know, founded Jane's Addiction, one of Chester's favorite bands. While Jane's is on tour right now, this was a one-off for Royal Machines. You can see a picture Dave Navarro posted with Chester that night here.

Royal Machines Facebook:

"Time to clear the air:
Yes- we are playing in Cleveland, Ohio on July 21 at a charity event for Boulder Crest Retreat for Military & Veteran Wellness. I believe this is the 3rd of 4th time that we have had the opportunity to be a part of raising funds for such a great facility.
This is not a political event and it is not a part of the RNC. In fact, we'll probably be onstage when the nominee is speaking.
Don't believe the hype."

We are looking for more information about the show, such as what songs were played or where exactly it took place.

Just because he played with friends, especially Jane's Addiction (one of his favorite bands), doesn't mean he's being supportive of any of the candidates. For all we know, it could have even been a protest event like Prophets of Rage was doing.

Yeah Hahninator you're probably right, especially based on some of his twitter posts

It would hurt my feelings if Chester supports Pig Trump you all know that i'm mexican and we all know that Trump is all about racism.

Exactly! But I don't think he does, He said on Twitter Last year sometime that Donald Trump is a greater threat to the US than Terrorism. Which I agree, So if he's a republican, (which I highly doubt) does it mean that he supports trump? no.

chester seems to enjoy these guest appearances

Maybe that's why he's doing it. As Hahninator said you never know.

It was a pro trump event u can tell that girl posted on twitter thanks for rocking the RNC event. Plus in a tweet she says cali for trump. I'm really surprised chester would have anything to do with that party even if dave was playing. From tweets I've seen its cause there all part of the cali republican group.

It's really confusing. And i'm surprised too. Someone has to ask him about this. but I think he just enjoys guesting. Maybe he was invited and accepted. Maybe the DNC didn't invite him? who knows?

I almost guarantee you he's not! https://twitter.com/ChesterBe/status/675374464058589184# This is evidence! granted it was written 6 months ago. but I believe he wouldn't do a complete 180 like that.

http://reason.com/blog/2016/03/03/dave-navarro-consider-myself-libertarianDave has played republican con before yet voted obama. Think they r for there local republicans and liked someone els who ran for president but are against trump. Thank god. I don't get people who vote for him he is a laughing stock here in uk. Info tho dave been playing gigs with dude from zz top so think it's like a side thing he has and invited chester to do some songs

Edit. From that website mark posted

Another big event tied to the RNC is Rev The Votes July 19 concert, featuring a performance by the Royal Machines a band consisting of Sugar Ray frontman Mark McGrath, The Cults Billy Morrison, guitar wizard Dave Navarro and his Janes Addiction bandmate Chris Chaney. The now-defunct Camp Freddy, a band featuring many members of the Royal Machines, also played at an event surrounding the GOP convention in 2012.

Thanks HAARP. I was really worried that Chester was a Trump supporter after reading that article I now believe he did it for fun. and about that trump supporter girl, She was thanking him, as she should. because Chester (who didn't have to go) played for them.

While the shows are unaffiliated with the Republican National Committee (RNC) and the official convention, they are among dozens of events thrown by media companies, lobbyists, companies and trade groups that take place during the weeklong convention.

Found that on site to so it wasn't even to do with republican party just a gig to get young ppl to vote more

Well than that settles it, The fact it wasn't even a RNC affiliated show (and instead a charity show) makes it unlikely that These guys were playing in support of Trump, Even though some people who went to the RNC went to the show

Seems like one of those things like religion. What does someone's political beliefs have to do with their music? Nothing, just like religious beliefs. Just my two cents. For the record, Chester has stated he was a Republican before in an interview from 2007. Maybe he has changed his beliefs. But not every Republican supports Trump. A lot of Republicans will not support trump. Keep that in mind, it's not as one sided as some would believe.

Yeah that's true too. It doesn't make him any less of a person. people believe what they want to believe.

No I'm not bothered I'd still love lp i was just confused after what chester said about trump. I know chester is a very religious person I'm not dosent bother me. I was just more interested

Well, he probably doesn't like Trump. Judging by his tweet in December. But he might still be a part of the Republican party, he just doesn't support Trump. That's like saying every single Democrat supports Hillary Clinton.
