My review of 2015 Setlist (Europe/China)

As LP currently has no plans to tour this year, I thought I'd review the setlist that They used for most of last year. I will highlight What I like and what I feel needs changing.

01. Papercut 2015 Intro

I personally LOVE Papercut as the opener, and the new intro was epic. I hope it stays in the set because it opens the set with energy.

02. Given Up Ext. Outro

No problems with Given Up. I would like to see it rotated with another heavy song (QWERTY or No More Sorrow maybe?)

03. Rebellion

I love Rebellion, we don't get enough THP songs as it is so It's nice to hear one.

04. Points Of Authority Shortened Intro

Again for the most part no problems, would like to see the extended Intro w/ Petrified return though. (get Mike more involved especially since I don't really like FM being played at LP shows all that much.)

05. One Step Closer Ext. Outro

Love this song, but would like to see it as a closer, OR even better rotate it with By Myself or A Place For My Head.

06. A Line In The Sand Keyboard Intro

Strong track. I REALLY hope it stays in the setlist.

07. From The Inside

One of my Favorite tracks on Meteora, and in my top 10 of Favorite LP songs, so no issues with it in the setlist.

08. Runaway Shortened (Intro/First Verse/Chorus Only); Ext. Outro Transition w/ Wastelands Verse 1'

Sure the Wastelands Transition is cool and all, but I kinda want to see this song take a break for the next touring cycle.

09. Wastelands

Wastelands is a good song and has a lot of energy, so I say we keep it in the setlist.

10. Castle Of Glass Experience Version; Wisdom Justice And Love Bridge; The Radiance Outro

Was never really fond of Castle of Dance, (Not even when I saw it live) UNTIL they added The Radiance Outro, I feel it fits in with the theme of the Next song (or medley rather)

11. LOATR/SOTD/Iridescent Ballad Medley

This is been in the setlist since 2012, and evokes a lot of emotion from me. although to be fair, would like to see at least ONE of these songs make a return as a full song! Another Idea is to switch this song with The Messenger or Pushing Me Away (Piano Version) OR make a New Medley With My December (Piano)/PMA (Piano)/either Valentine's Day or The Messenger. ( I have Absolutely NO IDEA how that would flow/work but it'd be kind of cool)

12. Robot Boy Shortened (Intro, Synth Bridge, and Ending Instrumental Only)

I LIke this interlude because it gives Chester a break to catch his breath and rest a little, but can we PLEASE see a full version of this song? It's never been played live!

13. Joe Solo Medley w/ Wretches And Kings, Victimized Remix, Buy Myself, Cure For The Itch, Session, Plc.4 Mie Hæd

I Love Mr. Hahn to death and I think the solo is a good idea to showcase his talent, which gets lost in translation sometimes (because Chester and Mike steal the show) BUT I would like to see some different samples.

14. New Divide

Love New Divide and all, but this song needs a break, or at the very least put the Moscow intro in front of it.

15. Breaking The Habit

No major issues with this song other than the fact that it's the studio version and not the badass 2009 version (the one with the buildup piano intro) IN FACT put Numb before Breaking The Habit so we can have the Piano Outro again!

16. Darker Than Blood Shortened (First Verse/Chorus Acapella)

No issues because I can't really judge a song I haven't heard more of than this.

17. Burn It Down

I like Burn It Down, but I don't want to see it played every night, maybe switch it out with a Full Version of Lost in the Echo?

18. Final Masquerade

Another one of my favorite LP songs, and VERY personal to me, so I really want to see this song in the setlist next touring cycle.

19. Remember The Name Fort Minor song; Shortened (Intro/Chorus/Hybrid Verse/Chorus/Chorus)

I love Fort Minor as much as anyone, but I'd rather see something else by LP in the setlist. If mike MUST do Hip Hop Do A full version of Dedicated, It's Goin' Down or Nobody's Listening Or Even Step Up! in fact just bring The 2004 Hip Hop medley back and I'd be happy!

20. Welcome Fort Minor song; Ext. Outro Transition

*see above comments on Remember The Name*

21. Numb Numb/Encore Intro/Outro

I like Numb, But it should be before BTH and LP needs to get rid of the Numb/Encore stuff, It was cool at first but now I don't like it, I feel it ruins the meaning of the song!

22. In The End

I can't imagine an LP setlist without In The End. Just saying

23. Faint Ext. Outro

Who else likes the Idea of a drum solo intro to this song? In fact, Let's rotate it with Papercut as the set opener!

24. Waiting For The End Apaches Intro w/ Until It Breaks Verse 3; Wall Of Noise Outro

Another one of my favorite LP songs so no real issues, I love the outro. HOWEVER I feel it doesn't belong in the encore.

25. What I've Done Ext. Guitar Solo Bridge

4 words. Bring AMBO intro back! (then this song, Which is already my favorite, Would be perfect) Oh and also have it open the Encore like it did in PR 2008 set X

26. Bleed It Out Ext. Intro; Ext. Bridge w/ Sing-a-long; Ext. Ending

The one song I wish would just go away for awhile, I used to LOVE Bleed It Out, but I feel it's lost its luster and it needs to be shelved for awhile.

As always let me know what you think about my Ideas, Hope you enjoy my thoughts (and that LP implements some of these ideas) lol (and yes I know Rebellion wasn't played in China, but the other songs were 25/26 isn't bad accuracy IMO)

Nice review. I agree with everything except bringing old intros, outros, mashups etc. back to the setlist. The band is so creative. They can add a lot cool and new stuff to the set. The problem is that they didn't play a lot from THP and the new album is coming soon and I kinda feel something worse than THP is gonna happen with LP7. They gotta get rid of some everybody-loves songs. Especially BID and ND.

Rid? no. There are a few "must have" singles that will probably stay in the setlist for a very long time (or if I'll took it more farther - as long as the band active).

Imagine your suggestion: a setlist without the recent hit singles (not talking about how much these songs are good or not, played too much or not - just based on public recognition), which means that What I've Done will be the latest song that most of the crowd knows. The last "super hit" will be from almost a decade ago.

With Hybrid Theory singles there's more room to choose because you've got 4-5 mega hits to choose from, drop Crawling and keep In The End, One Step Closer and Papercut and nobody cares. But with the recent albums, and A Thousand Suns is the best example, they don't have this "pool" of singles/songs to even rotate between.

I saw the band live for the first time in Tampa during the Carnivores Tour, so I was pretty happy with the set list aside from the shortened songs; however, hopefully when I see the band live again, I do want more variety with the set list. I feel bad for all of you have seen very similar sets time and time again. I think the only singles the band "has" to play live is OSC, ITE, Faint, Numb, What I've Done, and Bleed It Out. I think maybe they could get away with rotating New Divide and Burn It Down. I really hope they bring back songs such as NMS, TLTGYA, WTCFM, In Pieces, By Myself. I don't know how likely it is. Then again, Slipknot has premiered songs from their second album that have never been played before during this touring cycle. I'm sure no one ever expected that either.

I saw them in Charlotte on that same tour. It was an amazing show, and a fair amount of songs that weren't "must haves" were played, (Such as With You, DOYS/LFY (LP Version) SIB etc. I also was lucky to see GATS live) The #1 song i'd like to see return would be NMS. It's one of my favorites and I was kind of surprised they left it out of the setlist, because it's heavy!
