Good news South America! Linkin Park is coming to Argentina and Brazil! The band will be performing at the Maximus Festival in Buenos Aires, Argentina on May 6, 2017, and in São Paulo, Brazil on May 13, 2017.

This changed up the board a little bit. For one, this means Linkin Park's tour for their new album WON'T be starting in Europe! 12 European festivals have been announced for June and July, including the recently confirmed Hellfest in France. This changes up the normal schedule that the band has been using for the last few cycles. The A Thousand Suns tour was the last tour that didn't start in Europe, and coincidentally it also began in South America.

Here's what the touring schedule is now looking like:

May 6, 2017 - Technopolis, Buenos Aires, Argentina (Maximus Festival)
May 13, 2017 - Interlagos, São Paulo, Brazil (Maximus Festival)

June 9, 2017 - Base Aérienne 217, Brétigny-sur-Orge, France (Download Paris)
June 11, 2017 - Inch even Open Air, Prague, Czeck Republic (Aerodrome Festival)
June 14, 2017 - Pannonia Fields II, Nicklesdorf, Austria (NovaRock 2017)
June 15, 2017- TAURON Arena Krakòw, Krakòw, Poland (Impact Festival)
June 17, 2017 - Autodromo Nazionale Monza, Monza, Italy (I-Days Festival)
June 18, 2017 - Complexe du Val de Moine, Clisson, France (Hellfest)
June 22, 2017 - La Caja Mágica Grounds, Madrid, Spain (Download Madrid)
June 23-25, 2017 - Eichenring, Scheeße, Germany (Hurricane)
June 23-25, 2017 - take-off GewerbePark, Neuhausen ob Eck, Germany (Southside)
June 27, 2017 - Lővér Kemping, Sopron, Hungary (Telekom VOLT Festival)
July 1, 2017 - Festival Park, Werchter, Belgium (Rock Werchter)

The last time Linkin Park performed in Argentina was during the Living Things world tour - October 2012, after the Honda Civic Tour. The band performed in Brazil during The Hunting Party Tour, where they performed two shows for the Circuito Banco do Brasil festival. There was a rumor about the band hitting Argentina during the Brazilian visit in 2014, but that never amounted to anything.

We don't know if any more South American shows are coming, but with the week gap between these two shows, it seems likely. These lines up perfectly with some of our predicitions we discussed in our Tour Rumors thread - Mexico and a few other countries are rumored for March, but that doesn't workout based on some crucial members of Linkin Park's crew's schedules work out. Perhaps May is the golden month - we'll see soon! Follow our Twitter and our Facebook page to be sure you don't miss out!

Well, somebody should take a flag to the show written "When you come to Brazil?".

The thing is, they going only to São Paulo is like all Europe having just 1 show.

I, for example, have to travel 1000km to get there.

Now I think we can assume that the album will be out before / in May

Not really. LP always performs shows before album releases. This isn't anything new. Only thing we might expect is one or two new songs to pop up for this particular show.

The band will play along with Rise Against.

They are going to play with Rise Against only in Brasil as far as I know.

I am going to the Argentina show! :D

It doesn't make sense for their gear, band, crew to stay a week on another continent between shows. They have room for 3-4 shows during that week. It'd be a good time for them to try a new country, like Peru. Or return to Chile.

Very weird. I think they are working on something for another countries....

May is my bday too. lol

Not true, look at ATS era. They performed some promotional shows in US to celebrate the release of the album and than they played in South America when the album was already released.

Maybe this is the case also for this new album.

Good point. Maybe they are going for something like that again. They released The Catalyst, the first single on the album, on August 2nd and then released the album a month later in September. Is it possible they aren't going to have a 4 month wait this time around between single and album like BID and GATS had?? Never even thought of this.

Remember they can announce headlining tours 2 months out in the USA. It's November, about to be December. Still tons of time to announce something if they do it in April. I doubt they will, but you never know.

Yeah, it's just kind of strange to me to do that. I'm honestly thinking that LP is going to do a typical August/September tour in the U.S.. I'm not even mad about it, nothing wrong with it. The thing about the U.S. is that they should be able to play random shows here without having to do a full blown tour. They could do shows in NYC, LA and a lot of other cities across the country and do fine. The ATS release show in NYC comes to mind as one of the many examples.
