  1. If this happens, it's going to be a new low point in terms of the band's decisions. I think the difference between an action figure and a digital avatar lies in the potential for ease of likeness misuse on a large scale to a larger audience. Sure, someone can pose an action figure or place a funko pop in a tasteless way, but an avatar in Fortnite has animations, accessories (weapons, tools, etc.), and freedom of player expression right from the get go. In addition to easy access to record clips on PC/consoles, there is much less effort needed to share something in bad taste to a playerbase/fanbase of millions. This isn't something new though. Activision was sued by Courtney when an avatar of Kurt Cobain was able to be used in Guitar Hero to play non-Nirvana tracks. With something like Fortnite which is basically Ready Player One in terms of pop culture saturation, you can have Chester doing all kinds of silly (at best) things. Maybe they would restrict his likeness in some way. If this release, will this be some great catastrophe that I will despair over? Nah. It's their band and Talinda and Chester's estate will do what they see fit with his image, but I will think it's lame as hell and will make me question the band's motivations. Especially with Mike being on record dismissing a Chester live hologram. Not totally the same thing but I think it's fair to say it's at least in a similar realm.
  2. I'm here to join the Massive fan club. Real shame it was never finished but glad to have finally heard it. I think it would have even been cool to have Mike do the vocals on it just like the demo. His vocals fit the track.
  3. Im so bummed because I think the chorus, mikes verse, and the beat to good goodbye are pretty damn good. It’s the features that completely ruin it for me. Lazy, cringe inducing lyrics. If they had not been on the track and mikes live 2nd verse was put in their place, I’d love the song. Something about it is really catchy to me and it’s pretty different than what they’ve done before.
  4. I’m pretty neutral on the whole thing. I can live without it, but its existence doesn’t really bother me. I am completely unsurprised that this release is happening and I’m actually surprised it didn’t drop sooner. LP has always been about making money. The constant merch they pump out for every little minor occasion shows that. I don’t see myself buying this. FF isn’t my thing and I already have Qwerty on disc. Will be curious to see if these sell once the hardcore fans are done purchasing every variant. I’m willing to be I’ll see a bunch of these sitting on the lonely vinyl shelf at Walmart next to Nirvana unplugged and Billie Eilish’s latest.
  5. Per Mike: "From our first release ‘One Step Closer’ to the brand-new ‘Friendly Fire,’ this tracklist spans all our chapters so far." Why you lying!? lol.
  6. The Raid is such an incredible action movie. One of my all time favorites. I'm definitely interested in picking this up. LP/Shinoda ties not withstanding.
  7. Ha! Fair take. I still see comments to this day: " I stopped listening after Meteora". Like, ok dude. 2004 wants their opinion back.
  8. Doubt it. just going off the Shinoda releases, they never got close to the hype of an LP release. The rest of the members aren’t big rockstar personalities so their contributions won’t add much to the casual fans. Now, that’s not me saying they can’t continue with Mike as a sole vocalist and be successful. They surely can. It just probably won’t be as big as anything with Chester.
  9. I always imagined an expansive 2 cd/record package for a greatest hits. I guess it's an easier sell to just market 1 disc. more affordable and all that. What I expected: Papercut OSC Points (maybe even replace with Reanimation version) Crawling In The End SIB Faint BTH FTI Numb Lost Given Up LOATR BIO SOTD WID New Divide BITS WFTE Iridescent Catalyst LITE BID COG UIG Final Masquerade TTM Heavy OML Friendly Fire
  10. Slipknot already claimed the Gray chapter.
  11. Imagine if there are zero "new" songs on this supposed GH album? I almost want to see it happen just to witness the fandom meltdown.
  12. Meanwhile, I've just been here on my own ignoring every thing Shinoda posts because AO was completely underwhelming to me.
  13. This x100. THP is the only time they actively went against the current trend. And it failed for them lol. I would say that with the exception of HT and Meteora, they always felt a year or two behind. OML was the most obvious case of it.
  14. Couldn't have said it better myself. Chester really shines and sounds so natural playing straight up rock n roll. what a legend
