after the first listen i didn't like it, but know after i heard it a few times, i really love it!
it's so creative and complex but at the same time it has a very atmospheric vibe which i can't describe really xD

hope the catalyst and the new album has the same kind of atmospheric vibe to it =)

For all those saying you hate/dislike/don't like the song, you definitely wont have anything to be excited about for the new album. Mike said clearly it sounds just like the album, being VERY similar.

What I think it really is though is politics. Just because we don't know this guy/he doesn't come from LPL, we receive his mix like this.

But being serious now, i like the remix, and well it is what it is a remix and i really did like it.
I feel happy for the guy and it seems he deserved it.

I like the winning remix. I wasn't really following the whole contest thing but I guess this is one of the best that I've heard. I just want to hear the album version!

M: "Nu metal" can describe Hybrid Theory and Meteora, I suppose. But by Meteora, we were already taking steps to move out of that genre. And at this point, calling our band "nu metal" is like associating Bjork with Sugarcubes. Any time I hear it, I just think, "are you guys paying attention?"

I'm sorry, but you're fucking crazy if you think an entire album is going to sound like one song, and you're even crazier if you think Linkin Park would attempt to sum up the sound of their entire album based on the sound of one fan remix.

He is correct about one thing though. Mike did say that the remix "feels kind of like the album" and that it was like the winner had "already heard the record". However, after that, he said that the remix "sounded like the album in parts". I think Mike was just exagerrating the similarities at first. It sounds like he was just saying that the remix maybe resembled some songs on the album or parts of a couple songs. I definitely think there will be songs on the album that don't sound anything like the winner's remix.

If the album sounds like that remix then fuck. Not interested. I'm thinking that isn't the case though.

Not impressed with the winner mellow.gif they'd better have chosen the song that differs from the true Catalyst more imho

I hoped Mike would choose Alex McMillan or Indy Sagoo (he's also in top 20) - my two favourite mixes wub.gif

I loved the guy's reaction when Mike sat down to talk to him lol, he was even able to crack jokes. I would have just died on the spot haha.

Congrats to the winner and all those mentioned too!
